ITT we talk about the current ongoing cyber war being waged throughout world networks and social media. We all know what the retards over at reddit, hacker news, tumblr, 9gag, etc, are in denial about: a good chunk of online traffic is just bots and paid shills. Organizations like the NSA, KGB, MI5, ISIS, Israel, and private companies like Microsoft, Apple, Oil companies, AMD, NVIDIA, etc, are all paying people to post on social media.
All of these organizations are competing in an unorganized fashion to control the public narrative.
World governments are all hacking each other and their citizens. Bugs are left open because of a global policy of "spy first, disclose the bug later", which leaves everyone vulnerable to everyone else, including our politicians. If the NSA had taken a more proactive stance on security they could have let the public know about the exploits used to obtain the Clintons data and prevented those exploits from being used.
Right now, your personal data is being collected by Microsoft, Google, and the NSA, stored on servers that may or may not be secure, backed up over and over again, and inevitably stolen from insecure servers and sold on the dark web. Stupid shit you did on facebook (or myspace) when you were younger is probably sitting on thousands of servers right now, continually being hacked.
How much longer can they keep the war secret?
Is this the beginning of WW3? Or the first of some new type of global warfare? Perhaps, World Cyber War 0.1 (WCW0.1)?

come on, next thing you'll be telling me ussr will crash in a decade
if I was updating today to a new computer and buy a kit of 2x16GB so I could be able to still add in another 2x16GB down the line to have 64GB of ram max the MOBO would support (maybe in the future you would need it)... and I buy 2 years later the other 2x16GB... could I run into problems just because it's not the same batch?
It's like 290€ for 2x16GB right now so I can't buy 64 at once.
>>58158726
>could I run into problems just because it's not the same batch?
If it is the exact same kit there shouldn't be a problem. Mobos and memory controllers can be finicky with RAM support. Some setups won't care if you have totally different DIMMs, they'll just all default to the lowest common clocks and CAS timings. Other boards won't even post if you have a dual rank DIMM in one slot with single rank DIMMs in another.
Memory vendors tend to sell certified kits in these configurations for that reason.
You'll most likely be fine, but problems definitely can arise. Memory vendors tend to have really good customer support though since RAM is actually laughably cheap to produce. Its no skin off their back to send you four brand new matching DIMMs if need be. They usually have a lifetime guarantee too.
>>58158890
so u think I can get 8 gigs of matching ddr2 gskill for my problem here?
>>58152067
assuming the problem is the different batchs... because im running out of things to test
>>58158969
Sounds like you're running into a pretty typical error with unlike DIMMs. If you got matching DIMMs it should post and boot just fine.
How can I turn a Windows 10 people into a Nas Machine with cloud features?
How can I add the ability to remotely fetch files on a windows 10 machine? I want to be able to grab and move files from my laptop and my phone.
You should enter that last sentence into a search engine of your choice. That should be enough

About to buy a ThinkPad but can't decide between T460, T460s and T560. Opinions?
t400
t460 for an honest answer
14 inches is the sweet spot for a laptop
and the t460 will give you better battery and weight over the t460p
They are all lenovo shit, buy T420 or T520
>>58158463
T420 has the worst screen ever produced for a laptop
T520 is pretty cool

In this thread we come up with ideas to do the most damage to cable companies.
We all hate them, surely there's damage to be done.

Aside from piracy and switching ISPs to Google Fiber or something similar, there really isn't much that can be done.

Complete tech amateur here.
I'm going to install ubuntu on my ASUS transformer soon and had an idea.
Clover is completely open source, right? So could I just port it over to ubuntu for my transformer? It's touch screen so I think it'll work pretty well.
Will there be compatibility issues? Can someone point me in the right General direction to getting started?
Do I need to know programming?
I did exactly that, confirmed working if you use gentoo instead of Ubuntu
>>58158175
I'm not installing gentoo.
Try running it with something like this instead.

Google Drive is trying to synchronise data. Your laptop will work normally again when its finished.
