I never got any of the updates is there a way to push the updates to my phone manually. Could the neckbeards at bestbuy do that?

So every time I boot my new install of Solus on my PC none of the back USB port want to work, on boot I get a slew of errors if anything is plugged in the back but the front USB ports work fine.
I've tried changing the peripherals settings in my BIOs however that didn't change anything, does anyone know how to fix this? I'm finally tryna make the jump to Linux but this kinda shit ain't helping.

My cousin gave me a supposedly broken MSI GT60 lappy. Basically GPU was dead (gtx675m, pic related) so I removed it and now it's running fine.
I want to buy a GPU replacement but I have one question:
Besides Thermal grease, isn't there some kind of white foam you have to put on it?. And yes I know it's a retarded question that's why I added apu.

So My phone took a spill a few days ago and the screen is shattered. The phone is an Iphone 6. The touchscreen no longer works but still displays the time and background image (though the lcds are all messed up where the cracks are). It can still recieve calls and nothing aside from the screen seems to be messed up. I have a two options.
>Tmobile JUMP! claim repair $175 deductible
>Staples, $120 repair. (same day fix)
Now my concern is, is staples worth it? Will the screen be of quality? I did take it to staples and the guy said it was replacable but since my screen could not be interacted with, he tried to talk me out of a repair since he could not "test to see if it was motherboard related" (or in this case...fiddle with apps). I don't see how the motherboard will be an issue here. The phone had an armored case when it fell (which didn't cover my screen, obviously).
I need suggestions. It's very much appreciated.

Truth is a lot of linux admins are also unix admins.
That being said, I am a systems analyst, I started in desktop support, then got into systems administration in a mixed environment. The linux servers needed much less attention than the windows ones and as such my linux is just ok.
It's actually easier to learn linux administration because you can easily get everything you need for free. Make sure to learn vsphere and other hypervisors
