Is the Surface Pro 3 any good?
What should I go ahead and buy if I wanna use it for school and some programming or web design if I get bored?
It's a good laptop, if not a little fragile. I've been waiting for the 5 to come out before I buy another one, though
>>58157313
New ones are over a grand, especially if the 5 comes out.
However the 3 is available for around ~$600 on some sides so that's why I was asking.
Doesn't the Surface Pro 3 have issues with heat and CPU throttling?
Merry Christmas Faglords:)

Well merry christmas to you my hindu friend. I am sure Santa has something for you but only if you were a good hindu buy and didnt steel too many western IT jobs

Back at you, cock pilot.
I'm looking for a nice budget $40-$60 or so case that will fit my mobo along with a RX 470 8gb.
Anyone have any recommendations? It's a super large card, it's 11.5 inches approximately. The current case I have can't fit it because of non removable HDD bay.
And before you ask, yes, I'll be picking up a bigger case later on in the Summer of 2017.
Why not just save money and wait until you can get the bigger case this summer?
>>58157303
Because I wanna be able to put the card in my PC???

/g/entlemen,
I come to you as a humble /k/ommando requesting real help. My wife got me an alienware 17 R3 for Christmas, but I have no power. It turned on once to load my game and image it but after that it won't light up or turn on. I don't hear a fan or anything. I left it on the charger all night, so I don't think it's the battery. I looked through the sticky and didn't find anything.
>It turned on once to load my game and image it but after that it won't light up or turn on.
Sounds like it shut down at some point. There usually is a button you can press to turn it on again, have you tried that?
>I don't hear a fan or anything.
That is normal if it's turned off.
> I left it on the charger all night, so I don't think it's the battery.
It is a common misconception that it is enough to charge it, but not so. Try pressing the on button.
>I looked through the sticky and didn't find anything.
Well... let's see what the sticky says.../g/ is NOT your personal tech support team or personal consumer review site.
woah... pretty harsh, sounds like you need to contact alienware and get them to fix it. It is difficult for us to get you to delete the System32 folder if your computer does not even work. Come back later when you got it working then we might have some scripts you can run.
>>58157191
I suggest you use the warranty on it and call up Dell on the 26th to let them see what is wrong with it and get you a new one with a RMA.
It sounds like an internal component or electrical problem but for things like this, you usually can't have someone give out advice online to solve this which is why using the warranty will be a lot easier.
I'm also assuming that you aren't completely clueless when it comes to computers.
>>58157263
dont gotta be a cunt about it
There aren't structures larger than moons for the same reason there aren't structures smaller than atoms. At between a zettagram and yottagram, objects start rounding, to 100-200km in radius, and structures are made, of, atoms.
The nearest star is Proxima Centauri at a distance of 4.2 light years. At a speed of 150,000 mph from a passive slingshot maneuver, reaching it would be about 17,900 yrs. Micrometeoroids reach nearly 186,000 mph.
The galaxy is ~100,000 light years in diameter. The speed of light in vacuum is 670,616,629 mph (denoted c). It is physically impossible for mass to attain light speed as it would require infinite energy. Fission or fusion propulsion could accelerate a vessel to 10% of the speed of light (~62,000,000mph). Technologies to generate and store minuscule amounts of antimatter exist, and antimatter engines could allow acceleration for months or years to very high percentages of the speed of light, keeping Gs to a tolerable level for occupants, but speeds around 95% of light would cause instant death.
do you have autism

I bet the spaceship is so fat it has its own gravity, just like your mom.
Unmanned space ships are the only viable option beyond that we would have to slowly expand outwards from our planet building settlements as we go. The primary goal of space travel in the future needs to be asteroid mining to save capitalism and at least one off earth settlement of enough genetic diversity to repopulate the entire species because the earth won't last forever. Generation ships are a possibility but are pretty inhumane. Read aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson for an example.
Why aren't they the norm?

Why would you need to bend your TV?

In fact, why would you need to bend any screen? Other than fitting advertisement on even more places.

Long time Linux user. Always wanted to try a BSD.
FreeBSD or OpenBSD on a laptop? Tried NetBSD on a desktop and I really liked it, especially the package manager.
>>58157601
OpenBSD
I'd like to teach myself to code, and I'd also like to give linux a go.
I won't be using it for Gaming or video editing.

Anything can run netbsd, you don't need anything special at all

Sorry but I'm unsure by what you mean?
Why is HP the only manufacturer that cares about aesthetics AND functionality in 2016?
now if they could just leave out the bloatware and include a nice gpu, they'd be perfect
>>58156740
Bloatware is super easy to deal with. Just reinstall windows.

Looks like a 8 year old macbook.
I just got gifted a Beagleboard. What should I do with it?

If dubs, cum on it and post pics.
I am guessing that trying to over-clock a laptop's GPU is a bad idea, right?
