If you use JRE, you have to pay license fee to Oracle unless you uninstall specific non-free components (e.g. Java Mission Control) after installing JRE.
JRE installs these non-free components by default.

new to /g/ and decided to start lurking here as I have increasingly more interest in learning to program.
I took a java class last quarter and struggled but passed, we used some Becker Robots thing to learn. I plan on taking more classes but would like to at least learn as much as i can on my own so im going to classes to fill gaps in my knowledge instead of it being brand new to me.
What is the best way to start learning? Seems like actual practice is best but what programs should i use to practice? Should i just do increasingly difficult small projects? Just read textbooks? Use shitty codeacademy style sites? Im lost and just need help.

Hey /g/, I havn't been in the game for 3 years and I'm not quite sure where to take this next build.
I made two builds for about $1k, an AMD and an Intel build. I don't care about AMD's record of running hot as I won't be running close to benchmark temps and they come with the new Wraith cooler which seems ok just fuckhuge. Which option is better? Should I just wait for the Ryzen instead and the new MOBO to go with it or will that be priced out of a $1k build?
AMD FX-8370 4ghz (Factoring in a free Wraith cooler it's half the price of the i7)

Intel i7 6700k 4ghz (Or maybe the i5 6600 to save $100?)

FX-8*** series is OKAY. In some single threaded DX9/10/11 games it'll be a bottle neck. I had an FX-8350 for 2 years I upgrade to a i7-4790k just because it limited me to ~60-70 FPS in some games. (I have a 144Hz monitor).
