Don't know about monitors, but the best bang for a buck is your mom.

Korean 27" 1440 144hz ips.

Think it's called: 27" fast

On eBay. Seriously a great monitor. Cheap as your mom

I fucking hate shopping for monitors, literally the most frustrating thing to shop for, there is ALWAYS one thing about them that fucks the whole thing up

Anyone here have Spectrum as their ISP? NYC area?

Moving on my own and Spectrum is the only ISP available in that apt. Internet id cheap 40$ for 100Mbps and no cost for the modem

But I noticed that if you want wifi, it's 5$ a month. wtf?

I want to make sure that this wifi 5$ a month thing is literately just them giving you a modem with wifi, but charging you 5$ extra because it has wifi.

If that's the case, anyone care to recommend a modem/router (min 2 port lan).

I was looking at this:
ARRIS SURFboard SBG6580
but I want wifi with 802.ac

Thanks in advance yall. Budget no more than 100$

>>
They still charge you to "rent" their modem, it's in the fine print. It's usually 10-15 dollars a month.

The 5 dollars extra is for a modem with built-in WiFi. Just buy any wireless AC router and you'll be fine if you don't have any special needs.
>>
>>58216483
Well it says the modem is included in the price. I'll just get their modem, and I'll get a separate router. It'll be cheaper anyway. thanks
>>
>>58216639

Just be sure to read your bill, ISPs love to throw in a bunch of little charges until your 40 dollar bill becomes a 70 dollar bill.

Also, make sure you know when your promotion ends so you aren't surprised when the rate jumps up to 120 dollars a month.

I'm studying CS and I'll finish my degree in two months. I have some experience with front end, little less with back end and did two Android projects.

Should I focus on learning web dev or Android dev? What will bring me more money?

Can we assume from this that these devices and perhaps smartphones/smart tvs/computers are infact recording and uploading everything they hear in our possession (and hooked up online)

Their refusal to give the police the info, cynically seems to me to prevent the bad press of it confirming they record everything rather than giving up "personal data"?

I don't see how this can easily be escape except by neutering yourself tech-wise?

>Their refusal to give the police the info, cynically seems to me to prevent the bad press of it confirming they record everything rather than giving up "personal data"?
Bingo my friend, that would cost them millions in sales and even more millions to reverse the bad PR.
>>
>Can we assume from this that these devices and perhaps smartphones/smart tvs/computers are infact recording and uploading everything they hear in our possession (and hooked up online)
You don't need to assume, Amazon and Google's terms say they can and will use your data to better their services. In fact you need to agree to this to even use Google Now on an Android phone.

>Their refusal to give the police the info, cynically seems to me to prevent the bad press of it confirming they record everything rather than giving up "personal data"?
Maybe. Remember the Snowden leaks though; they have the data and there's reason to believe it was handed over (parallel construction)
That being said, I'm pretty sure Amazon is refusing their warrantless request. The cops will come back with a warrant and get the data legally.

>I don't see how this can easily be escape except by neutering yourself tech-wise?
Why do you need a smartphone? Why do you need echo? You don't need either of these devices. If you use them despite knowing they are tracking and listening to you, then you are willingly giving up your own privacy for some convenience.

Theres a lot of ppl here that will tell you to fuck off ,
And by telling from the pic its a gaming pc?
So number one
DONT GET A HIGH WATT PSU when you dont need it
For gaming you dont need anything over a i5 6600k CPU
GPU is a personal choice.
And dont get somthing just because it has three fans hass RGB or it just looks cool and cost 40$ more.
Bein you first time when you get all your parts it will probly take you around 2 to 3 hours puting it all to gether then there is geting it to work after.
PCs are NOT LEGOS they sophisticated machines.
Make sure you get the right motherboard for the right CPU and DONT USE Windows 10 even if you "Dont have anything to hide"It is still a pain in the ass geting rid of all the ads and auto downloads of apps you dont use.

Why does /g/ think Windows is written so poorly?

I've crashed twice in my six years of using Windows 7 and one time it was my fault for not seating the RAM properly.

Meanwhile Linux has crashed on me a dozen times in the three years I've used it.

>INB4 m-muh big corporation

Ubuntu and Fedora are the only distros that don't crash once a week but still every so often.

So maybe Linux is written poorly?

so I got this AMD FX-4300 system from a friend awhile back with some 2x2gb Ripjaws 1333 ram in it. Yesterday I tried putting 2x4gb 1600 in it and it worked, then today I tried using some spare DDR3 sticks that i have lying around to free up the 2x4gb kit. Once I tried powering it on it didnt boot fully.
So i put the original 2x2gb kit back and it is giving me the same no boot problem.

Does anyone have any ideas of what could have possibly gone wrong?

pic related is my 4x2gb sticks

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a tablet and was wondering if you could give me some advices and suggestions. I'd use it for school, like taking notes, surfing on the web, youtube, etc. (so no games). I'd also need it to be easily transportable, so something aroung 8 or 9 inch max. Personally I think for the way I want to use it, a windows tablet would be better but android's got that Yoga tab 3 that's cheap and seems good (cause yea, I don't have all the big budget either, maybe 150-250 USD, could go a lil higher but not too much). What do you guys think? Pic semi-related, it's the lenovo yoga tab 3.
