I saw some 7inch 1280x600 Mons for like $60 on Amazon, I could probably just build myself one with a bit of cad and a mail order laser cut. What with 7in being 6.1 inches wide or so + the metal frame it would come out just around 19in for 3 wide.

I have a first gen Hue and it's mediocre at best. It's not a full spectrum of colors (basically can't get greens/dark greens) and it's not very bright. Would not have paid the $120 for it that I did.

Its almost a shame that electronics are so miniaturized and sophisticated. Its pretty hard to tinker past the basics without getting into custom ASICs and shit or needing an oscilloscope. yet programming is free and it doesnt interest me quite the same. its too ethereal; there's just something about building circuits that's cool
