The fuck is this, 2001? Use an OS that isn't stuck in the past.
>>

Everyone knows drivers from the disc are the ones designed specifically for the HW.
It's what the engineers use to optimize.
The ones you download are one size fits all and not fully optimized.

So I'm going to build a web site using a js framework, but which one?

>angular X
Hell no, I've coded in angular 1 and it was okay, but impossible to fully grok. I liked some aspects, especially built in http request thing, but then they changed EVERYTHING with angular 2. I even heard they're now working on Angular 3. Angular 2 basically requires typescript, which is yet another abstraction layer. Fuck this shit.

>Meteor
Too much boilerplate, they might as well be cooking the whole meal, I want to do more than just front end dev and I plan on writing my server in go. Meteor is over kill.

>React
I used this and liked it. I like the modular aspect of the components and the way data flows with state and props, but no one takes you seriously unless you use flux architecture. I implemented the flux architecture my self and it fell way more complicated than it needed to be. I felt like I was coding everything three times.

>Vue
Never used it. Can anyone tell me about it and compare it to the others?

what did I miss?

I don't know much about webdev, but why not just JS+JQuery?
>>
>>58318986
Because most employers require that you know at least one of these monolithic frameworks.
>>
>>58319148
True, even if, in the end, you make a shitty site that require no framework.

Soup /g/,
found my old eeepc 1000h.
Any idea how I might get some mileage out of this brick?
inb4 install gentoo, I'm considering it.
But is there even a point to that at all? I think it's not even able too decode h264 if I recall right.
Open for novel ideas.

go with debian netinst instead of gentoo if you don't want to spend a literal week waiting for the base system to compile.

That, or if you're feeling really creative, you can set up another computer for emerge to hand the compilation tasks off to and have it be a sort of thin client
>>
>>58318606
The thin client idea seems interesting enough.
Open for other ideas though.
>>
>>58318716
I've actually converted my thinkpad into a pseudo-thin client for when I run it on battery.

I have my home directory on a server mounted over NFS. I suspend all my web browsers and other heavy duty processes and then re-launch them through a SSH tunnel with fast encryption and X tunnelling.

There's a slight performance/latency hit, but it nets me an extra 3 hours of battery life.

You sound awfully petty.
>>
Bought a zuk z2 off an aliexpress seller, they are now saying that 'customs are strict' and that I should declare the phone as $33. what should I do?
>>
Hoping for no Eiaosi X6 fighting

please just accept it as good for $2.50 and a solid choice for an under $5 option

buy it if you want the best you can get for the least money (ie dirt cheap). its good for travel or a disposable pair

please dont recommend it to people looking for excellent audio quality and are willing to spend more money

Femanon here.
What exactly qualifies someone as a "hacker"?

Some say phishing, social engineering, scripts, and DDOS attacks quality as hacks, others not.

The bigger the amount of beeps the computer makes per second, the better the hacker.

If you can repurpose software to do things they weren't designed to do, that's hacking, to put it simply.

If you can actually write software that does things in a more streamlined fashion, for example, software that pings an IP address from a game to DDoS a player just by inputting their character name if it's possible to do so from the server side, instead of using a few different programs to do the hack, you would be the highest level of hacker.

The real danger is the people who write the malicious code, the people that repurpose code are simply "hacks".

That's why I believe there's only two types of hackers, and script kiddies are included inside the lower type. There's just varying levels of skill.

The Acer Predator 21 X is the most ridiculous gaming laptop ever conceived. Considering it costs $8,999, it had better be. (UK and Australian pricing and availability weren't announced, but the exorbitant 9,999 euro European price converts to £8,520 or AU$14,540.)

Mfw then the backlight stops working.

So I just got the 1060 Strix, and installed the Aura Graphics Software and the GPU Tweak 2 Software
but I've had issues with it

Not all the LEDs are lighting up, and the symbol on the top isn't lighting up as well.
All the lighting modes work correctly though.
Any tips on fixing this?
