I'm getting an iPhone before the end of the year.
Why would I buy an iPhone X over an iPhone 8+? Animated facial kitties?
The definition of Linux "gaming".

>"Why, yes, I do hinder my computing experience by exclusively using FOSS garbage and CuckCuckGo under the false pretence that not only do I matter, but I matter so much that the machine built for convenience should be as inconvenient as possible to protect muh privatez, thanks for asking"
Enjoy being a source of data that will inevitably be used to oppress you and the rest of society, or at the very least, be used in ways that doesn't have your best interests in mind. Not-so-extreme example: the "risk" databases that corporations are creating to sell to police that tell an officer your threat level when they pull you over, based on data gathered from big data sources like facebook. They already proved it's overtly racist because machine learning indirectly sees the high percentage of crime that black people commit but without the context and knowledge of our society to form a more complex model of the situation, it reinforces the statistics by victimizing more black people by assuming they are dangerous.
Fuck you and your dystopic statist mass surveillance apologist opinion.
I'm tired of letting Bill Gates rape me bloody. I need an escape, but I'm afraid of what the consequences might be if I install Linux and fuck up.
(My font entries in the registry are fucked to shit, that's why the s and t's are connecting in Window's system font.)
Anyone own or have used a PDP-8 or other minicomputer? how fun is it?
Do people really fall for this shit?
I'm temping as a computer technician in a high school. None of the kids use shift to capitalize letters, they all just toggle caps lock.
Am I old? Do they fucking teach this?
How do I do hard drive forensics?
>Purism and KDE are partnering to help KDE adapt Plasma Mobile to Purism's Librem 5 smartphone.
>KDE develops Plasma Mobile, a free, open and full-featured graphical environment for mobile devices. Plasma Mobile has been tested on several off-the-shelf devices. However, most smartphones include hardware that requires proprietary software to work. This clashes with KDE's principles of freedom and openness. It also makes building difficult, since many details of the hardware are kept secret, preventing complete access to all the components.
>Purism, the manufacturer that builds high-quality, top of the range and freedom-respecting devices, is currently running a crowdfunding campaign which will allow the company to build the first fully free and open smartphone: The Librem 5.
>The shared vision of freedom, openness and personal control for end users has brought KDE and Purism together in a common venture. Both organisations agree that cooperating will help bring a truly free and open source smartphone to the market. KDE and Purism will work together to make this happen.
This. I would own a smartphone if I received more than one text message a month, usually from my employer or coworkers. Unfortunately, smartphones for me are just a burden, since they burn up battery so fast. And I don't get enough out of my phone that I want to have to charge my phone that I don't use every other day.
I exist in a time when it is conceivably possible that I will live forever. Life extending medical advancements within the next 60 years, followed by the a super intelligent AI which will aid us in developing techniques to extend our lifespan in perpetuity.
Is it just mere coincidence that I was born to a decent household, in a stable country, with a bright future ahead of me, at the advent of a technological eclipse? Why was I born at a time like this? Why am I not a rat, a dog, an amoeba, some dim witted alien? Granted the only way I could pose this question to myself IS IF I have intelligence akin to a human.
Is it possible for a super intelligent god to feel boredom? After billions of years of throwing myself into simulations and fantasies, will I long for the days of the mortal experience again? My existence would be through code, surely I could just code myself not to feel bored. But is there a point when even a god would want to start again?
Is it all by chance? That sounds too nihilistic for me. Maybe I am a bored immortal that has decided to wipe clean and return to my origin. And if it is the case, then surely I am countless "resets" deep. I will not know the truth until I am on my death bed. Until then, this nugget will always be in the back of my brain. Has anyone toyed with this idea?
woah this thing is like... AWESOME!!!
I need a reliable, stable, fast, non-SJW script-kiddie infested static site generator for a personal blog. I refuse to use Jekyll or Hugo because they are written in Ruby and Go respectively. Is Hakyll the only option?
If it's good enough for NASA, it's good enough for you.
>spilled half a can of diet coke into a computer while it was running
>shut it off, unplug from wall
>crack case open, liquid everywhere
>blot as much off my graphics card and motherboard as I could off with paper towel
>tfw some liquid got in the psu
How I'm not dead yet I'm not sure, but anyways since my computer is a bit big to put in rice how do I make sure I don't fuck up my computer or electrocute myself when I turn it back on after letting it dry overnight?
Soda is corrosive, wash off anything that remains, if you don't feel comfortable cleaning the inside of a PSU just replace
Wash components with hot water after draining the capacitors, let it dry for 3 days to a week after giving a proper paper drying
