throwback edition part 2

where's the funny?
What the hell happened with nvidia drivers for linux?
I used to be able to boot linux distributions with a fully working desktip, but now I have to add 'nomodeset' so I don't get a black screen.
I have a GTX 970.
Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
>>61673332

What is the best programming language in 2017?

>>61673261
The one I like best overall is Scala.
But it's definitely not the best for everything you could program, same as with all other languages.

I can add numbers in my head faster than erlang vm can
I recently went into an Apple Store and couldn't help but notice that the iMac display was extremely crisp and aesthetic. It honestly looked better than anything I've seen on windows. And combined with the Mac OS which is also significantly more aesthetic, it just looked very good.
Why is this? I can't find any display for a PC that looks as good?
>>61673040
It's not just the display that's amazing, it's the whole package.
You're paying for something worthwhile that will last you for a long time and have resale value if you want to sell it.
You can't say that for any plastic piece of Wangshaft garbage.
>>61673040
It's just an LG IPS panel, nothing special.
>>61673183
>amazing
>apple product
Pick one
I just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy tab to an iPad.
Ask me anything.
>>61672912
How's the apple bloatware treating you?
Did you upgrade from an iPad to a samsung galaxy tab??
I have an iPad 3, and I'm looking to upgrade. Worth it or nah?
>normie vloggers that have a mac in the background
What do these faggots even use these expensive computers for? Creating a bunch of jumpcuts, making shitty thumbnails, and adding royalty free music?
I mean there's also video rendering but still
>>61672889
Final Cut Pro X is faster than Adobe Premier.
>>61672889
>...have a mac in the background
Well, there's your answer. It's a prop for the video they are making. It's probably not used for anything else. A defunct mac isn't expensive btw, so if you want one just to look cool you don't have to break the bank.
>>61672889
why wouldn't they own a Mac?
computers are cheap for anyone who doesn't have a mcjob (and even those can afford one). mac being more expensive doesn't really mean anything, when it doesn't cost much in the first place.
Mac OS is comfy, it comes with a lot of comparatively good software preinstalled and you don't have to deal with windows bullshit.
Yo guys a coleage of mine got all of his files hacked by randomsware. The extension is .sprx do any of you guys know what encryption this is?
reminds me of PSP plugins lmao

They're like twitter. Valued at multi billion but not making any money.
And reddit tracks users link clicks and sell to advertisers. They also have advertising on the website. What more can they do to get more revenue? Nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing.
I give reddit 4 more years of survival
Modern computers have less and less user-serviceable parts. Every system is slightly different and nothing is cross compatible anymore. I don't want to keep throwing away perfectly good old parts and having to buy new ones just because the size and shape has deliberately been made a couple of centimeters different.
>>61672523
servicing is for terrorists and nerds
>>61672523
Care to give an example? There's different CPU sockets but that's about it.
>>61672523
You're not confusing modern computers with Apple hardware, are you?
Anyone else hate angular afer trying react?
I hope you get cucked by the licence.

If you're going to be paid in one lump sum, ask for half now, half when finished. I can't begin to tell you how many people will attempt to fuck you when their instructions were heli vague and they aren't 100% satisfied with the end product.

I'm a pretty heavy data user (~2-3TB/mo). I also move around a lot. I currently pay for a 1000/1000 fiber, 200/10 cable (I can get 1000/40 cable for like $150/mo, but not really sure if it's worth it), 3/.76 dsl, and t-mobile which can get 70/35 in the dsl area. I feel 250 down is the optimal download, and 50 up would be sufficient for most enthusiast users. The 1ms fiber latency is great for gaming though. 3/.76 is nearly unusable for anything I do, so I tether the 70/35 connection.
