Have any of you swapped the barbell bench press for the dumbbell bench press? I'm considering it. My bench is terrible and I feel like I might have more luck with dumbbells.

I did and havent looked back. No more shoulder pain and last time i bb benched i was struggling with 185 lbs. 6 months after diligent db bench i went back was easily able to do 2 pl8. Dont listen to people who say you cant bench heavy with db. Just be mindful of getting into position carefully. Best part is if you ever want to switch back your gains make great carryover back to barbell.

how do you get into position exactly? I always seem to struggle with heavier weights getting them into the right position without hurting my back.

I do ashtanga yoga, and the whole concept is you internally heat your body, instead of externally heating the outside area around you. I still need to give bikram a go, but you could always go into a sauna and go through some sun salutations instead and get the same benefits. The heat shock proteins your body produces are pretty rad, increases insulin sensitivity and helps keep you lean. It's a good practice based on what I've seen, regardless if the dude is a creep or not

I used to be an angry child growing up. When I started getting fit, it started up again.

How did I curb my anger both times, you ask? Muay Thai and meditation. Also, try to reduce the amount of angry music you listen to.

Currently 2 months on the Greek god workout after 8 months on blahinos 5x5 ICF works wonders for people on the intermediate level. Helped me get over my plateus. Got them for free tho, not paying for a routine.

Would really appreciate some advice /fit/

Ideally I want to figure out a routine that requires almost no equipment that I could do in my apartment. My goal is to lose my love handles, get bigger shoulders and get to around 180 or 185.

I'm normally around the other boards so I figured you guys would be my best bet. Don't underestimate my ignorance, I literally know nothing.
