Shit happens. If anyone asks, tell the truth - you came home 17:30 and crashed because you weren't feeling well. Apologizing profusely is a good start after fucking up, taking blame and admitting your fuckup (especially to avoid having someone else do it for you) is a sign of adulthood and professionalism. Learn from your mistake and move on, and try not to make a huge deal out of it the next day - it happened, it wasn't completely out of forgetfulness or carelessness, you apologized, move on with your life. Bringing it up again with everyone after that won't win you any points.

I woke up on a work day once, room was dark, clock said 12:30, didn't know if PM or AM - then the phone rings, boss wants to know what the fuck is going on and why I'm not in the meeting we set up with another team. It's uncomfortable situation but happens to everyone eventually. I just made some excuse about not feeling well and apologized, then went back to bed. In my 4 years there it only happened once.

What does everyone think about squats? I'm starting to think they are the single greatest exercise you can do. Discuss.

But volume plus powerlifting = trouble down the line and increased rate of injury.

And no one can actually tell us why three heavy squat focused routines a week is actually needed or a good thing.
Getting a higher number in squats quicker doesn't mean anything if you lay the ground work for life long debilitating injury with one single fuck up.

Isn't the idea to strengthen the lower back legs and ass? I feel like no other lift activates these muscles as well. And if you build that as your core strength, bench and everything should be easier. Feels like the best way to tone up full body.

I've been a picky eater my whole life with a shitty diet consisting of pizza and tendies. I'm not a landwhale at all but I have poor muscle definition with some chub similiar to pic related. I'd like to start working out but I'm not sure how I should go about changing my diet. Are there any other picky eaters on here that have gotten in shape by eating a specific diet? Without having to first overcome your """eating anxiety""" For example, I hate pork, red meat, and most vegetables. I don't understand the psychology behind it, maybe it has to do with being raised by a single mom, either way what's the most basic diet I can have to give me the calories I need without having to be too adventurous with food?

TL;DR I'm a picky eater (aka a pussy) but I want to have the proper diet for working out without having to be too adventurous with food

was thinking about getting into a combat sport when I go back to college
Any recommendations as to which one as I've no experience at all?
as a side note I also play lacrosse, will starting a combat sport negatively affect this in any way?

As far as technique/coordination/balance etc go, you may acyually benefit from martial arts. The risk lies in poorer performance due to improper recovery and injuries. Both will be less of an issue after an initial adapting period, but always keep this in mind.

Also, figure out what you want out of MA, see which ones match and what's available, hit some trial classes and have fun.

Im in good shape and have muscles but
I dont really see them because of fat%.
My routine is:
-Every day 20 minutes of jumping rope
-10 minutes abs exercise
Did it for 5 weeks.. seems to work I guess but not fast.. am I doing something wrong?
Or am I expecting too much ?
