was thinking about getting into a combat sport when I go back to college
Any recommendations as to which one as I've no experience at all?
as a side note I also play lacrosse, will starting a combat sport negatively affect this in any way?

1.) BJJ
2.) Boxing
3.) Muay Thai
4.) Wrestling
anything else is just show-offy bullshit

That's a bit too simplistic.
OP, look for something that involves a good amount of full contact sparring.

As far as technique/coordination/balance etc go, you may acyually benefit from martial arts. The risk lies in poorer performance due to improper recovery and injuries. Both will be less of an issue after an initial adapting period, but always keep this in mind.
Also, figure out what you want out of MA, see which ones match and what's available, hit some trial classes and have fun.

Thanks, I suppose MA also gives me something to do in the off season. Cheers
