Anyone else feel their throat tighten up when they take certain protein shakes? Pic related and some others I've had (ON) will give me a slight choking sensation for ~30 min.. I would just keep shopping around until I found the right one, but shit's expensive and I was just wondering if anyone else has an alternative.

Hey, /fit/

So, I was a caregiver and I recently caught a 553 pound man, right after weighing him coincidentally enough. I caught him enough to slow his fall to the ground, but I have permanently injured my back from the years and this has been the last big injury I could take. I left the medical field because I'm to fucked up, but now two really big compound lifts are out (squats and deadlifts).

My question is how do I still work out the muscles, when I can't two those two very important lifts?

squats:
quads, glutes, a little hamstrings, erectors, a little abs - we'll boil this down to just knee extension and hip extension, since this is the major thing going on
deadlifts: erectors, hamstrings, glutes, traps, grip (forearms included)

if your upper body training is in order and you are hitting a lot of pulling work, your traps, grip, forearms, etc. are already going to be ok, so we'll just focus in on quads, glutes, erectors, and abs

quads: leg press (might want to do it one legged to eliminate possibility of lumbar flexion at the bottom of the ROM), hip belt squat, machine hack squat
hamstrings: RDL (if possible), GHR, hamstring curls
glutes: barbell hip thrust, covered by RDLs somewhat (again - if possible given you injury), GHR
erectors: hypers
abs: whatever doesn't hurt your back (see mcgill's big three for spine friendly ab work)

hope this helps, look up back mechanic by stu mcgill and see if you can improve your back as well

I work Saturday-Tuesday when it's impossible for me to workout (it's just unpheasable) I've worked out since Monday and now have two days until Saturday. Do I workout the last two days to get every bit of workout time in or do I take a day off before then? I'll have Wednesday and Thursday free after those 4 days off before I work Friday-Monday again.

Rest days are a meme and only apply to muscles you just worked on the previous day.

Hey /fit/ I am a skeleton that started working out on Friday and I was wondering if someone could explain exactly why lifting and cardio are bad on the same days. I got a trainer and the way he explained it made it sound like I could just eat more and it wouldn't affect my gains.

Whats a good routine or at least a way to organize muscles groups for a 5 day split?

Also if someone were doing 5 days, would it be okay to hit a muscle group more than twice a week? I just got done with Greyskull which was kinda fullbody every lifting day. I've also gotten bored with it and unmotivated because of it. Really would like to change things up.

And I don't know if it matters, but I'm cutting
