Yes, they are on the pricey side, but I think this will work. My only problem is that the tread is not rubberized, and we need good grip on smooth surfaces.
Does anybody have experience with 3D printed tracks?

I actually did think of an idea just now - using one as a home cloud server/torrent box with a 5tb external drive and owncloud or some shit like that. Would the RPi be well suited for this, or is there a better option I should be looking into?

A lot of people make seedboxes and servers with their RPI.
And again, you want the ram and power of the RPi2 over the 5$ one. You are going to pay triple the price of a Zero buying adapters to get it to run, at that point its only marginally more expensive to get the much stronger one with real HDMI and ethernet built onto it.

Can't really help you OP but I bought a really cheap electric body and neck online and am stoked about putting it all together. Need to install frets, enlarge a neck pocket, and drill passageways inside the body.

The "right" way to do it would be faced (better) or unfaced (cheaper) fiberglass or rockwool batts. Make sure your measurements are good and buy batts that fit your stud width/wall height/thickness. Faced batts are easy because the kraft paper/aluminized paper facing is usually wider than the insulation so you can lay them into the walls and staple up the edges alone or with little help. Then panel as desired. I would at least panel the area near the wood stove and add a further layer of something heatproof, like a bit of corrugated steel to both reflect heat into the room and keep the wall from overheating (required in building codes in some places for good reasons, even if those codes don't cover a shed)

Another option would be to face the walls with cheap paneling almost to the top and fill them with cellulose insulation. You'll want to secure unwanted holes, move outlets to the face, etc, and will have to either rent a machine or rig something to fluff and blow the material into place.

rockwool is currently best for insulation
if you're doing it and you're unexperienced, find some earth wool from Knauf for example, which won't fuck up your health while putting them on

aerated/insulated concrete can also be an option, if you find a smart way to cast it

I'm going over plans for a greenhouse. In Colorado at 8500 ft.

I'm trying to come up with what material I could use for the floor. Thoughts on rubber asphalt?

This would just go onto the concrete foundation. Worried it might heat too well in the summer but the greenhouse would be open with ventilation fans.

I got my multidisciplinary bachelor's doing all kinds of different stuff I kinda liked but had no strong feelings about. I dicked around for a while after that and I was pretty satisfied, but it still felt pretty hollow all in all. Signed up for trade school on a whim and it's the best decision I've ever made in my life by far. The more I do it the more I like it. It's the first time that I ever felt like I truly found my way. I'm missing three days of school this week because of a teacher strike and I'm legit angry.

I say try hanging on and finish your kinesiology degree, take a decision about trade school after that.

Yeah, I'm just having a hard time because I already took time off after school. I feel like I wasted a lot of my life growing up playing video games and fucking around. Never gathered any hobbies or skills. I'll be 30 by the time I get my masters for physio. Not much time to be switching careers at that point. This is again why my friends advise me against it. Trades and tools and all this stuff is brand fucking new to me. I never did any of it growing up.

But you're probably right. From what I can tell you can start a trade at almost any part of your life, know a guy who started carpentry at 40. Where as its fucking next to impossible to go back into science after more than a few years off. Everything you know will be obsolete and outdated.

I've worked in construction on site for 8 years and every day is different. There is however a ceiling to what you can make unless you're willing to take on the responsibility of labour working under you.

I've had offers to go into work in offices at a desk relating to construction and I've tried it but I simply wasn't happy.

I suppose you have to consider how invested you are in your current training and where you think you'll be in 5/10 years time. As good as the money would be in comparison to a trade and the hours worked are different, it won't always make people happy or satisfied in the long run.

If there is only two wires to the original I would suggest using 2 and 3.

The solder on PCBs melt around 180 to 230 celcius, if you can heat the solder more than that, it will melt, and components can be removed, or fall off..

Heating an entire board to this temperature, is a bad idea, as most capacitors are not designed to withstand that, they are normally wave soldered. some components, especially larger ones might be glued to the board, then again no success, smaller SMD components will not fall of by them self due the capillary effects of the solder.

And finally, most components can be damage of excessive thermal stress, especially electrolytic capacitors.

All classic micros have a flat memory layout: a single address bus and data bus wend their way around the system, connecting RAM, ROM and peripherals to the same flat address space.

The C64 has basic bank switching, but all it really amounts to is a helper chip fiddling with some address lines to shadow the ROMs.

Write yourself a version of memtest86, step through the areas where RAM is supposed to be, and when you find the addresses where the RAM isn't working, that'll point you to what isn't working.

You can even do it in basic, provided you don't overwrite your program or the BASIC interpreter. You won't be able to test the area that shadows the BASIC ROM though. Given the entire program is just a FOR loop, though, you should be able to write it up in assembler.

Actually, looking at the C64's expansion port pinout, you could hook a Pi or similar to it, request DMA so the processor disconnects from the bus, and then bit-bang the address and data lines to test all the RAM chips directly.

AFAIK there was never a "B" model, it's just a plain C64. The "C" was originally "CR" for "cost reduced", but Commodore changed the name since they actually raised the price.

There's some mods for the audio circuitry, but other than that people mostly use external expansions, for compatibility.

as Far as upgrades go, I want to try an internal SD expansion, a reset button, a RAM expansion to 128k. I also want to see if their is any way to make the read speed or loading time frequency reduce. If this can be fixed by simply more RAM, I'm all for that, be it internal or external.
