Use spiders instead. They are easier to keep and feed and harvest from. Find the biggest spider you can in your area and start harvesting it. If you want it to have stronger silk, feed it graphene-laced water. You'll have to make the graphene yourself, but it really isn't too difficult.

the how it's supposed to work in theory is an important foundation of knowledge and a step towards design. how are you supposed to design something that you aren't sure what it's supposed to be doing in the first place? if audio is your bag, start building amps. they range from very simple to very complicated. get yourself a semiconductor textbook and stage it out and build a 10W amplifier. that will be a good use of all of the skills that you have said were relevant, and you get an amp when you're done. if you enjoy that and want something a little more intense, build a better amplifier. design filter banks for equalization. replace your silicon with tubes if you're a sound snob. if analog design bores you, get yourself an fpga and build a digital effects pre-processor that feeds into a class-D amp. build a synthesizer. get a few digital signal processors and make real time filters, equalizers, and other frequency specific toys, phasers, whatever, man. but whatever you do, document. the difference between you and a hobbyist is that you should be able to articulate the theories and annotate methodology throughout the process. you should be able to give not only mathematical models to back up your design choices, but relevant simulation data, and recorded data. you should be able to give accurate accounts of total harmonic distortion, and noise levels of each stage.

no, dude, you just get a networked external HDD, like the Western Digital MyCloud series. you hook it up to your router so you can access it from anywhere using wired or wireless connections.

you can also access it remotely, through the interbutts, though i would not put any sensitive data in there if i enable this feature.

You probably have the sync ranges all jacked up. You didn't give enough information for me to think you hadn't. It sounds like you just plugged it in and expected it to work, your video card MIGHT be able to make RGB in a range that tube can use. It might not have a plug for RGB though, and you might not have the sync broken out in a way the arcade wants...

And this is just assuming it works and nothing is fried, which might not be true.

If I were just building a silicone model, I would cast a wire armature in to make the thing poseable... but I hope to work my way up to casting some light animatronics into the thing--just a servo or two to make it twitch a limb.

I'm pretty sure u need to make model or texture of exactly you would like it to look like then you need to make a cast of that with silicone just make a wooden box to fit your model in to then pour in the silicone I know at my work we use a chamber and vaccume pump to get the air out of the silicone it makes it more dense therefor lasting longer then after its done curing take the silicone out of the box and carefully cut in half making sure to bypass the sculpture inside after that you have your mold I would use latex for skin and silicone for textures

I want to add a weed whacker engine to my bike, saw the above photo and wondered what the diy community thought of attaching a pulley directly to the spokes in a similar fashion to how that sprocket is attached. Please ignore my double post, my fingers are too fat for this phone

Meanwhile, why belts? Unless you're planning to put the engine on a pivot so it can be tensioned onto and off the pulley to disengage drive, chain drive using the snippers centrifugal clutch should be good enough.

You can do that. Just be aware of the torque of your engine or it'll rip the spokes out of their place or bend them at least.

The way it's attached in your picture is usually done with weak engines, that are more like helper in wind, uphill or work as slow sustainer when you're already at speed. If your engine can skid the bicycle from standstill, under your whole weight, the drive-train should be quite robust.

more generally: turning the power up to 'lightsaber' and laying another pass over the top of a bad weld is WRONG. grind that shit out to base metal and start over.

sparks and spatter fly everywhere and can ignite dry wood on contact and melt through 1/4" of plastic before they cool down, so move all your oily rags, gas cans and whatever out of the area. a fire extinguisher in the workshop is common sense.

Felt is easy as fuck to do if yd just the bed and not the rails. If you can repair the leg with wood glue and clamping/staining I would say go for it. But I'm a pool junkie and love to fix pool tables. If it's not an actual slate pool table (3 piece slate, or 1 piece for a bar top pool table) then it's shit and will warp on you
