Is it possible to cook s steak all the way in oven and have it be rare but cooked like a good steak on stove. I don't have pan. Trying to do something nice for wife today. I have chives to

Bump
>>
You need to sear it off in the pan to get flavour and colour, otherwise it'll just look like grey ugly boiled meat
>>
No, you won't get a good sear.

If your oven has a broiler setting that'd be your best bet.

Roasting a steak won't go well.

Im going to be in santa monica tomorrow wheres a great place in LA to get a lobster roll and fried seafood type stuff?

Does American really do this?
>>
>>8525735
Yes, as a matter of fact. To my knowledge most costal cities around the world eat some form of SEAfood. What rock did you crawl out from under?

I'm not American but could you possibly develop cancer and die painfully? Thanks.

Can I just throw some frozen chicken breasts in a frying pan and let them cook?

I don't want them oven baked I want to be able to just cook them in a pan real quick, I don't even care about seasoning as long as they're edible

>>
it would take ages for the meat to fully cook through, by which time the texture would be ruined. more than likely you'd end up with it burnt on the outside and still frozen inside. probably not a good idea
>>
>>8525679

You can, but cook on low so they properly done...
>>
If you enjoy burn on the outside and raw on the inside chicken, sure.

So I ate a delicious bowl of pic related. Then my sister comes home sick and my throat starts burning up 30 minutes after she started coughing. At one point it felt like the cold tried to take over my nose too, but that subsided. Right now I'm burping every now and then because of eating all this sugar and the cold is using it.
Any food to kill the flu?

Pic not related.

I want a hotplate, it looks like most of the best reviewed ones on amazon are induction based.

I've never used one of these types of stoves or anything, is it much more of a pain in the ass than just having an electric coil?
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Google it ya dingus
>>
They are better in every conceivable way to electric coils.

The only reason to ever not use them is if you have shitty cheap cookware that is not compatible.
>>
>>8525414

Induction is better than any electric heat element.

You'll need cook ware that is magnetic. Ferrous materials must be within the vessel. Cast iron and carbon steel for example. Aluminum with ferrous core.

It will use less electricity, it will heat anything faster and it is safer.

I like cupcakes, what about you?

super markets are good for eggs, milk and dried goods. everything else is a ripoff. fucking jews got in there and made the boxes bigger and the bags inside them smaller. so now I just don't deal with that fake ass soy protein filler bullshit.

I can't even buy potatoes at these shitstain stores anymore without them going rancid inside of a week.

When I walk around a grocery store, its like day care or like a shitty cheap theme park. there's nothing real in there.

What is your most commonly used ingredient /ck/

I go through a tub of this stuff at least once a week. I can cook veg in it, make soup for noodles, or mix with soy sauce and garlic chili sauce to put on chicken and pork chops. I also tried making meatballs with it after another anon suggested it in a miso thread. Fucking delicious!

Also, not a weeb. I like Japanese food, but that's about it...

Not trolling I promise.

What are the real objective reasons for not using a variety of different seasons on good cuts of beef or heavily experimenting with flavor (e.g. ribeye, ny, filet)?

With every other cut of meat for the most part, it's acceptable to do even crazy experiments (e.g. pork w/ shallt-blueberry glaze or Tuna w/ Soy Truffle Oil and Parmesan)

Whatever you say, adolf.

Because Germans have continuity of beer culture and they figured out centuries ago that there exists a reasonable balance between the flavors of malts, hops, and alcohol. Something Americans are still struggling with.

We're seeing some signs of reform finally as a select few "beer hipsters" have begun to embrace balance at last, but it's likely that it will take another generation or two before we let go of the notion that MOAR is the best way to distance ourselves from the trauma of post-prohibition beer ''''culture''''
