Why do people like cheese so much? Most cheeses smell like anus or feet. Most of them taste like a dairy product with a hint of butt, basically creamy feces. I don't get it.

Italians have everything from thick pan pizzas to thin woodfired oven pizzas. Did you meet this "Italian" in a Jersey tanning salon?

>considers himself a 'gourmand'
>doesn't make his own oyster sauce

TOPKEK! Let me tell you something, /ck/ - real oyster sauce is a rare thing in this world. Almost all the main commercial ones are oyster-flavored goop, not the actual sauce produced by reducing oysters into a thick, rich brown paste.

And among the high-priced "real" sauces, many are either STILL full of adulterants, or are made from horrifying trash-tier farmed oysters from the nastiest brackish backwaters of southeast Asia - the ones they couldn't sell due to disease or rot.

Unless you are harvesting or sourcing your oysters directly from an area where you can SEE the quality of the water (and it should be a RIVER, not just a pure estuary or swamp) and then making your own sauce, you are defrauding yourself.

Every top chef knows this.

Anyone ever try making their own liqueurs? I'm trying some coffee liqueur for the first time.

Recipe:
1 1/2 cups cold brewed coffee
1 1/2 cups dark rum
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

I did home made coffee liqueur last week. Got the recipe from google. It was pretty much like this.

Coffee
>Boil water on stove
>Put coffee in water
>Put vanilla bean scrapings in coffee water
>Turn heat off
>Remove from stove
>Let it sit over night

Simple Syrup
>Boil water
>Put sugar in water
>Stir sugar water until it's sticky
>Wait for it too cool down
>Put in fridge

Coffee Liqueur
>Strain coffee
>Mix coffee with vodka
>Mix vanilla extract with coffee vodka
>Mix simple syrup with vanilla coffee vodka

Yeah, I love mixing liquor. I mix tequila and high quality whiskey often and just sip it. My tip? Leave it to rest for an hour after mixing to ensure the flavours are fully infused.

where do you live that you can't get salted beef?

I'm 28 and don't know how to cook. I mostly eat out - I have money so 2/3 of the time it is not fast food. Regardless, I still don't eat all that healthy seeing as I was once very athletic and am now 250 lbs (at 6'2"). My question is, where do I start? What utensils and instruments will I need to get started? Cooking has always seemed like this impenetrable dark art for me. Even when things have directions, they are usually ambiguous or unclear. Medium heat for example. What's medium? or when they give you actual temperatures, how am i supposed to check this. I also didn't know until recently, when ever you cook, you cook a lot of things separately, and then sort of heat it all up at once towards the end.

My question is, what do I need to get started? What are some basic cooking facts that i need to know? Feel free to impart any other tricks or skills

Just start cooking, man. It's the same as /fit/ or /out/. Whole lot of people stop before they even start when starting is the simplest part.

Google-fu some random recipes and get your feet wet or if you wanna just free-flow, look up a pantry essentials list. Yeah, it's a thing. Get a cookware set. Ask your mom about cooking. There's a lot of directions to go here.

For me, I think it was breakfast foods that got me into it. That and being poor. There's a lot of fun to be had with eggs and bacon for a beginner.
>>
>>8528529
>What's medium?
There are literally settings on your stove to tell you that.

Just look up basic foods and how to cook them.

Diabetes is caused by eating too frequently... If you turn eating into a drug and have nothing else to do and start eating for enjoyment instead of when you are hungry...

that is what causes diabetes.

you can eat like shit but if you space out your meals then you will be healthier than the person who eats and eats and eats every 20 minutes

>>
>>8528146
yup that is right i have to take 5 shots daily now

im telling you exactly what i know right now

when i developed diabetes... it was when i decided i was going to start eating as a drug because i was bored and food became something that i did for pleasure and i ate and ate and ate very frequently 24/7 and i felt full to my stomach all the time

and that is what put me into the hospital with diabeeettus

it is not a genetic disease it is something that people do in the first world with high access to food in infinite amounts and if you dont have self discipline to stop eating and to take breaks inbetween meals u are fucked

You can eat an entire 'zah to yourself if you wanted and just be a fat fuck but as long as you space out your meals and stop eating after you ate the pizza you will not get diabetes because the body knows what youre doing if you eat it at one time

but if you eat a pizza and then an hour later eat more pizza while youre still full is where you start to get problems

being fat is not even that bad .... if you know what youre doing

Watermelons are one of those fruits that everyone seems to love, and there can be nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than a big old slice of this big juicy wonder. That being said, there’s something you need to watch out for before partaking in this delicious treat. According to AWM, if you see this when you cut open a watermelon, you should probably toss it in the trash.

One of the most popular sights at summertime barbecues and family events can be the presence of a gigantic watermelon just waiting to be cut open. While most people will lean towards the camp that bigger is better, there’s actually something to be said for things that are just too big.

Some watermelons are growing so massive in size that you’ll find that they are actually cracked on the inside. That should be a huge red flag for you, and you’ll want to dispose of it or risk getting sick by eating it. Over in China, a chemical known as forchlorfenuron has been being used that is known to grow the fruits to an enormous state. That’s led to some abnormalities in the watermelon itself, and some ensuing side effects.

Locally sourced watermelons are your safest bet, but it’s probably a good idea to err on the cautious side if you notice some cracks on the inside.

Cracks are caused by watermelons growing too large and having to soft of flesh, you don't need this retarded chemical, in fact large cracks are characteristic of most darker red/purple melons and are perfectly normal and desirable for the sweetest melons with the softest flesh

Lard isn't inherently unhealthy. It's much better for you than most other animal fats. It's lower in saturated fat and higher in monounsaturated fat (the stuff that gives olive oil it's heart healthy status). Granted it's not a wise idea to fry everything you eat but if you're going to, lard is arguably one of the best mediums to do it in.

Nothing beats regular Tabasco. With that said it depends on what does offer unless you are buying online for inflated prices.
Stores carry tropical pepper brand, and they're ghost pepper sauce is hot. Just get any real hot sauce and use sparingly. If you have a Firehouse subs closely you can try all the success you want. Some fucking hot ones:
>357 Magnum
>100% pain
>eXtreme
>>
Texas Pete is great, it's what Chick-fil-a uses and it's available in supermarkets. Has great taste and just enough spice to put it above Frank's and others.

If you wanna go further than entry level look up Time's Up Reaper Hot Sauce - the red tomato kind. It's my absolute favorite hot sauce and I've tried many

>>8527894
I tried 357's 3mil scoville and it's repulsive. The only thing I can see myself using it for is chili or something. It just sits on my windowsill and is the only untouched bottle amongst all my others
