Does /ck/ watch tv while eating meals?
I do. Makes eating alone not feel so lonely

i'd serve crab legs
I bring my food into my bedroom and eat at my computer table while using the PC. Not sure if that counts.
>>8531808
Table is in the living room so yeah.
Are vegas buffets worth it?
Did Hitler kill 6 million Jews?
Yeah actually the good ones are. A lobster tail, a ribeye, a couple French cut lamb chops for $18? Sure why not.
>>8531716
so yes but it's really overhyped?
It does seem very style over substance
Have you had your potassium today?
I haven't eaten a banana since I was 5 when my babysitter tried to force one into my mouth
What other sources of potassium are there but gelnanas? I had a charlie horse not too long ago, it was unpleasant but don't want to eat bananas every day.
>>8531585
Potassium can be found in a lot of shit. Almonds/pistachios and nuts in general, avacado, spinach, kale, greens, etc.
It just so happens that Bananas have the highest amount of potassium per volume than most other foods. They also have a high sugar content but that shouldn't matter as long as you exercise and have a generally healthy/whole foods diet.
For me, it's the Flame-Grilled Whopper with Cheese.
The best deal on the market.
i agree
Personally, it's the Baconator with Thick Center-Cut Cooked Applewood Smoked Bacon.
For me it's the chicken tender crisp with mustard. The best fast food sandwhich
/ck/, just I tried chicken and waffles.
They're delicious.
The hell is wrong with me?

What's the best of these choices for food for a group of 8?
Fried chicken and sides
Sub sandwich platter
Pizza and wings
>>8531095
Pizza and wings obviously
>>8531095
Cold cut sandwiches m8 by far least clean up needed and no need everyone going to a bathroom at once fried chicken and pizza is easier to manage with 4 and under people unless you get generic pizzas i/e pep and cheese
>>8531095
Nugger platter from chik-fil-a
Pro tip: you can't
>>8531026
This.
>garlic
>onion
>meat
>seasoning
In what order do you cook this /ck/??
i don't like a burnt spice rub.
if i'm using high heat fro a quick cook, the seasoning goes on last-minute.
if it's low and slow, it doesn't matter. seasoning can go on raw meat.
>>8530909
onion
garlic
meat
seasoning

hey /ck/ what's something different I can do with steak aside from put it up my ass? I already sous vide and seared one, then froze the rest in vacuum pack. I'm thinking something asian maybe.

C'mon, people!
>>8529953
Breweries close early
>>8529953
Can't smoke in breweries.
>>8529953
As a brewer, the last thing I want is a bunch of pretentious twats telling me what I do and what I don't do and what I should and what I shouldn't do when they have absolutely no idea about anything.
Soup with frozen vegetables, toast and bacon pieces and a bloated french toast (patented in this post, you have to ask my permission and reference this patent whenever posting an image of a bloated toast). Liquid and luscious!

>Researchers tested more than 400 samples of packaging materials, including hamburger and sandwich wrappers, pastry bags, beverage cups and French fry containers, and found evidence of fluorinated compounds called per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). Of the materials tested, these chemicals were found in 56 percent of dessert and bread wrappers, 38 percent of sandwich and burger wrappers and 20 percent of paperboard.
>"This is a really persistent chemical," said Graham Peaslee, a professor of experimental nuclear physics in the College of Science at the University of Notre Dame, who tested the samples. "It gets in the bloodstream, it stays there and accumulates. Peaslee used a novel specialized method called particle-induced gamma-ray emission (PIGE) spectroscopy, which he developed to analyze the total fluorine content of each piece of packaging. PIGE is an efficient and cost-effective way to measure the presence of chemicals like fluorine in solid samples.
>Previous studies have linked PFASs to kidney and testicular cancers, thyroid disease, low birth weight and immunotoxicity in children, among other health issues. The chemicals have an especially long half-life and take many years before just 50 percent of the intake leaves the human body. "These chemicals don't biodegrade. They don't naturally degrade. They persist in the environment for a very long time,".
>The results are concerning when considering the role of fast food in the American diet. The National Center for Health Statistics reported one-third of U.S. children consume fast food daily. Samples were collected from a total of 27 fast food restaurant chains including McDonald's, Burger King, Chipotle, Starbucks, Jimmy Johns, Panera and Chick-Fil-A, in and around Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Grand Rapids, Michigan. The study did not include takeout containers, such as Chinese food boxes or pizza boxes.

CONTINUED:
>Upon the results of the study, researchers reached out to each of the fast food chains that had been sampled to see if they were aware the packaging being used contained fluorinated chemicals. Only two responded, each stating they believed their packaging was free of PFASs -- one went so far as to state they had received verification from their supplier. But the study showed both respondents had tested positive for a substantial amount of fluorinated chemicals, leading researchers to believe that some chains may be unaware of what's in their packaging.
>"This is a wake-up call for those companies and the consumers," Peaslee said. Those involved in the study are hopeful the results will encourage fast food restaurants to choose nontoxic alternatives such as plastic coatings, aluminum foil or wax paper.
>Co-authors include researchers and scientists from the Silent Spring Institute, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, the Green Science Policy Institute, the Environmental Working Group, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, as well as the University of California at Berkeley and Hope College.

diet discussion thread? saw a few diet food threads so i don't think this belongs in fit as it has no working out involved in green text
> over eat like crazy
> be on no meat diet for close to two weeks
> lose a few pounds over the first 3 days just by not snacking while i'm bored
> eat only vegetables
> go to bed hungry
> plateau. very little weight reduction.
> bring badly made lunch to work two days ago
> steamed brussel sprouts, green beans, carrots, rice, covered in sriracha
> throw out lunch and get panera. my first cheat day
> 900 calories in one meal ( large broc cheese soup no bread bowl )
> get home, stomach rumbling, eat cheese sandwich with 4 slices of cheese
> next day wake up to over a lb lost, biggest decrease since i started
i assume this is because i met my tdee but was below my basal metabolic rate.
tldr i didn't believe the tdee meme and was starving myself everyday eating boiled cauliflower and then saw the most weight decrease when i met my daily tdee
also i was drinking at least 3 cans of diet coke a day and switched it out for flavored sparkling water. diet coke doesn't have any sugar, and i don't really care about the aspartame cancer thing, but i think this helped because i read somewhere that fake sugars can make you have more of a sweet tooth. i was also eating chocolate and sour patch kids all the time before i dropped diet coke. my other reason for diet coke is that it started to royally fuck up my teeth all of a sudden after years of drinking it
>>8529486
>over a lb lost
>one single pound
A single pint of water weighs a pound, anon. Take a shit and you end up a pound lighter.
That's not enough weight lost to actually show anything about anything.
>>8529486
What is it you want to discuss? Food and dieting is so simple...just have less calories out than you have calories in (genetic fat fucks need not apply).
I'm reaching my early thirties and can see my fast metabolism slowing down. Plus I like to drink good beer, so that doesn't help weight. I started getting a bit of a beer belly and fat handles. I started getting on our stationary bike at 5am, because evenings are for hobbies and beer drinking.
My diet consists of pretty healthy food. Eggs and toast, oatmeal, or a sandwich for breakfast. Soup, sandwich, leftovers for lunch. Dinner is generally a meat/starch/vegetable combo, with no more than 8oz of meat per serving. Often mixed with curries, stews, ramen style soups, meatpies...
I don't often snack, and when I do, it's a couple of biscuits, some nuts and chocolate, or fruit and caramel sauce. Never soda unless I feel like a bourbon and coke. Water or iced tea at restaurants, if not beer or wine. Occasionally swap a side salad instead of fries.
Just moderate, you fat fuck.
