I've somehow found myself with free and unfettered access to a stocked genetics lab (Microarrays, automated liquid handlers, PCR, centrifuges, UV Trans, Centrifuges, etc.), a 3D Printer, and a full workshop. I have a bachelors in Biotechnology, so I'm not an idiot, but I'm at a lack of anything to do with the resources I've suddenly found myself with and feel like I'm wasting the opportunity of a lifetime.

Beyond stealing lab equipment, how can I turn this opportunity into money? What's the best way for a scientist doing the work, rather than an investor or salesman, to be an innovator?

I've often heard the phrase "trickle down economics is dead" which leads me to two conclusions. 1-what went wrong and cause it to die? 2-what replaced it.

Despite my personal opinion being the contrary, that trickle down economics still does apply in 2015 but that it also will also work in the future, I am curious as to why when I google "trickle down economics " the next suggested words are "is dead" or "doesn't work". Is this a symptom of political media, brainwashing the public or is there legitimate economic proof to why it is dead.

Ethereum is probably the future of money

Right now you can buy 10 ETH for $10

If (IF) it does become future money, it could be worth about $500/ETH

If it doesn't you can sell them back for $10.

Why isn't everyone doing this?

Hi /biz/

I have always been sceptical of the stock market from reading stuff about traders in books like Thinking Fast and Slow and The Drunkard's Walk. I put it down to luck or insider trading and just stuck to my Vanguard tracker funds.

Anyway, they haven't done much this year and after the VW diesel emissions scandal I saw an opportunity for something a bit riskier. I sold half my tracker funds and put it into VOW3 shares and have made 12% in a week. My reasoning was this:
- While the fine was big I didn't see it knocking 40%+ off the value of the business, which is what the share price reflected
- The preference shares were a LOT less than the non preference shares
- I think VW make really nice cars. A couple of guys I work with bought Golf GTIs on finance when we started and I really mire them

I'm not saying I did fundamental analysis or anything but it seemed like a good opportunity but I don't want to trick myself into thinking it was skill when it wasn't. It's all a fugazi afterall.

Also when should I sell?

I'm from central Europe, 19 y/o and started my first year in med school this year.

I still live with my parents and sister and I can't stand it anymore. I want to have my own place and be independent. Make my own decisions. But the catch is that I won't have job until 25 y/o or even longer and I get angry just by thinking that I will need to live with my parents until then. I feel like a total loser although that's pretty normal in Europe (living with your parents during college).

I'm always thinking about how could I make money to buy even small studio apartement for myself but prices here are fucking mad. 3000 per square meter. So if I want 30m2 apartment to barely move in, I need 90000 euros. That's crazy. My parent's worked their ass of for their whole life and they both have 10k and 20k on their bank accounts.

I thought about betting, because I'm quite good at it, but it isn't constant. You lose some days, you win the other days. If I win 90 euros everyday (which is quite possible) for 3 years straight (which is not possible) I will have 100k and could buy my apartment.

I'm going mad, please help me.

Its the feds, its pic related. The debt based economy is now being slowly replaced by the "panic stock economy" where the feds pump as much cash as they can to keep it afloat.

And we can fucking crash it by making more people aware of this pattern. We are in the third or so cycle of when the economy took a huge dip, but then was bought off, while the counterparts, chinese and other shit countries who dont buy off they stuff tank horribly.

Do you want to watch the world burn? Because you can help to actually make it burn. We can make more investors aware of this cycle to increase the load on the feds. Because this is a pattern, a reliable pattern now that can be exploited and the feds have no other option.

So anon, interested in actually making a happening instead of waiting fruitlessly to let it come to you?

Why is keeping a job so difficult?

First job: I worked as a cleaner at a school. Got fired because I accidentally dropped a wet sponge onto a girls shirt and accussed of harassment
Second job: I stacked shelves at the supermarket. Got fired because I was accidentally stacking things in the wrong place each day eg putting ice cream on top of frozen meat
Third job: I worked on the till at a charity shop. Felt overly pressured by the customers and had a breakdown in the shop

I don't understand. How am I supposed to cope in a job? Its fucking impossible

Going back to DeVry January 2016.
I need to transfer. Trying to focus on Math modelling.
Doing webderpveloment now. Getting $66/hr
$70k total debt.

Any college advice? Good places to transfer to? I can move after I recover my GPA at DeVry

Hey, I have stocks in HORIZONS BETAPRO NYMEX CRUDE OIL BULL PLUS ETF UNIT CL A NEW 2015 (HOU/HZOZF)
and I'm not sure what's going on with them now.

I've heard that they split the company or something but my stocks are not making sense now so I'm not sure what that means.

I had about 25,000 invested and now it's saying my stock is worth over 45,000.

It's not making sense because my stock should actually be worth less. When I search the new code HZOZF it's super low, however if I search HOU it's around 7.20.

Any insight as to what's going?
