I'm 19, really want to start investing. However, I am totally ignorant as to where I start. How did you?
>How much money to save before I invest?
>How do I buy shares?
>How did you start?
Thanks!
Another one bites the dust.
Dude shares are not really whatchamacallit a good way to make money. It could be if you can invest a lot, wait for years and get some cash back. Ideas is what you need. Invest in business in something that will bring you money back.
What I did I've made organization for ppl to work and i find them jobs and get part of the pay. Your personal workfoce you can see it on google.
Now the point of my investment was to spend money and get it back fast. After that it was all profit.
I have few other ideas but i really need a lot more time and money to start that. A website for example that could be huge.
Now the investment part is in pay per click campaigns so after a while people jist keep coming. Also good SEO that i can do myself and tons of other stuff.
I wish i had a website where i could team up with like minded people, but i really cant share an idea online, it would be like throwing it away.

Thanks for your insight. I suppose that shares are not the best way, but I still feel like there's more security in the long term. But who wants that? :p
I'd suggest to share the idea only in respects to how they will contribute, not so much the grand picture.
>>980920
This should be bait. Sadly, it isn't.
Invest in yourself, but don't be a hedonistic fuck. Buy things you need. A suit, nice shoes, a watch, etc. This is /biz/, remember? Do your business with those 3 key items.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS KIKE DOING?!?!?

Buying kneepads, they're so hot right now
An employee of mine recently refused service to someone who didn't deserve not to be served. The person he refused works for another local business. I got a call from them telling me they'd be taking their business elsewhere from now on. I have since fired the person who refused service.
I asked them to come back to us but they said they would not. At that point, my behavior got a little strange. I offered to open a tab for him and his employees at the other coffee shop in our neighborhood, my only competitor. He said, "sounds fair." and that was that.
I contacted that coffee shop and asked them if we could have a tab which they said they didn't do. Then I talked to the owner, explained our situation, and he said he'd make an exception for us.
It's been a month, an expensive month. I felt so low about how we treated his employee that I made a strange, poor decision. But the fact that I'm paying the bill to our competitor is really the icing on the cake. We've had no relationship so far and now I have to go over there every day, even my day off, and pay for everything the business we lost bought. And because we don't control the tip, they go over board tipping sometimes 50 or 100%.
Do I deal with it like a man and stick to my offer or do I try to back out?
Surely this is a joke, are you that retarded that you would offer such a deal?
Are you the same idiot that posted about a somewhat similar decision that costed your coffee business quite a bit of cash? - a month or two ago?
Something about giving out free coffee
Is it possible to find a 2-3 days a week job? I value my time much more than money but do these jobs even exist above minimum wage (excluding the obivous "start your own company" stuff)?
>>980654
yeah it's called part time
I'm a part time software engineer.
I work 20 hours a week.
Just start your own company. Learn how to use a buffer and wax floors for churches or other small businesses once a week or month. Learn how to stain floors and refinish hardwood floors for people, or learn how to install them. Learn how to do taxes and offer tax filing for people. Businesses usually file quarterly so you can always find some small business to work for. Build or upholster high end furniture and sell to brokers that deal with rich people.
Are you good looking? I work at a night club as a bartender and only work 11-3am Friday and Saturday and make about 40k annually due to tips. I could find a second job during the week if I wanted.
>government shouldn't tell us what to do, we can do business on our own

But we don't pay CEOs. How much money do you personally pay them?- I don't think I pay any to them unless they're somehow masquerading as the government and stealing my money via taxes.

>Vanguard’s assets now stand at $3.1 trillion, which effectively means that this year alone it will have removed more than $16 billion from the financial industry just through fees. That figure is based on the average asset-weighted fee of a Vanguard fund of 0.13 percent, compared with the 0.66 percent average asset-weighted fee of an active mutual fund.
$3.1 trillion * 0.13% = $4 Billion. Vanguard made approximately $4 BILLION from fees on their index funds this year.
Hey /biz/ why are you letting your money sit stagnant in index funds instead of starting your own business?
because they're making me tons.
>>980509
>average asset-weighted fee of a Vanguard fund of 0.13 percent
0.13% means you get to keep 99.87%. If you're smart with your Vanguard allocation, you can keep 99.95%. If you don't think keeping 99.87%-99.95% of market returns is good then I'm not sure what is good in your book.
>compared with the 0.66 percent average asset-weighted fee of an active mutual fund.
0.66% is nowhere near what the average fund charges. In reality it's much higher.
All this criticism of Vanguard is because Wall Street hates low cost index funds and what's to spread disinfo to collect fees from active funds. Vanguard is the best choice for 99% of people.
>starting your own business?
Right because that's guaranteed to work.
Show me a better option
>What's your greatest weakness?
What are some acceptable answers to this?
>>980508
"I care too much about what others think about me."
>>980508
First off OP, just know by not saying "I work too hard" you will actually push yourself a little higher than other people.
Think about actual weaknesses you might have.
There are better answers than I will provide, but I have answered this question and have gotten hired with this kind of answer:
I keep to myself. I am a fairly quiet and reserved person, so I tend to focus on my work. It doesn't impact my ability to communicate with people to finish the job.
Then move onto the next question. You don't really want to give them a paragraph of what you can't do.
>>980609
Don't say this
Just make a negative into a positive.
I usually say english is my second language and spew some bullshit that I read shit twice so I never miss out on details
What do you want /biz/?

I want to invest in products wholesale and sell them. Maybe help local artist get some online presence and sell their goods

>Goldman Sachs interview
Good luck
Lol
>>980342
Just make sure that in the interview you don't refer to them as Goldman Sachs. Instead, say "Goldman's Sack" with a straight face. This will disarm them and give you the extra seconds you need to sneak under the table and suck one of them off. Job status? Employed.
What division? I was up there a couple weeks ago.
Hi guys. We all know the problem with bitcoins.
>The value is so high that it scares people off
>Value changes so much that it scares people off
>Hard to acquire for people who aren't super interested in crypto
>Needs to be widely accepted/used before people widely accept it/use it
>too complicated for ordinary people who don't internet all day
What features/differences/strategy could a new cryptocurrency have that bitocoin does not? What would it need to be like to make the jump to mainstream?
Maybe there would need to be an actual central 'official' type authority for the currency?
Some sort of physical payment method that takes the form of a credit card that is linked to your 'wallet'? With the card reading devices connected to the blockchain?
I want a way for a truly universal cryptocurrency to be in widespread use. Not just as a hobby.
>>800564
What makes the bitcoin special is the fact that it's not tied to a bank or other organizations, making it impossible to track and centralize, make these your selling points. Also, if more people knew that all their dollars are created out of thin air, with debt plus interest that need to be payed to a privatized corporation benefiting a few, People would overthrow this economic system or at the least look for alternative currencies. (like bitcoin)
>>980280
Problem is that people don't care about this shit at all. Hell, even I barely care about it.
>>980284
They'll care when they fuck up the economy again
What iiterative Habits lead to financial success?
What can I do for 3 hours a day to make money, even if there is no payoff for months or years?
Sell kneepads door to door
suck dicks for free free hours a day to build loyalty to your future blowjob brand
Spend less than you save. So many retards sitting on there expensive laptops in their $1,800/month expensive apartment complaining about student loans and other bullshit that have complete control over but refuse to change.
If you saved $60 for every $60 video game you bought (and applied this to all other purchases on wants such as video games, eating out, etc.), you would be better off than 99% of people.
Are you ready for the SLAUGHTER?
I've got my ear to the ground and my positions set.

Whats gonna tank?
Hi /biz/
I trust you can give me a few tips/advices on how to deal with my finances and my business so here are the details:
I live in Serbia in semi-capital city(500-600k poupulation) and I have 3 'businesses' from which I 'profit'
I own embroidery factory (income aprox 20-30,000$ a year profit)
>(maximum potential profit can go to 100,000$ a year)
>I own a small 11 room hotel which I opened up in May this year and I can say that it will generate about 35-55,000$ a year profit)
>maximum potential 120,000$ a year
I also own a building that i rent for fix price of 60,000$ a year
My bank account is -350,000$ since I took necessary loans to invest into my businesses.
Considering that two of my businesses are not reaching the maximum I need advice from other businessman preferably people in the same business industry on how to improve my income and therefore pay the loans sooner then expected
I am specifically interested in marketing plans that will help me reach my much needed target group companies that I can cooperate / do business with.
Ask me anything
I will be here all day to discuss anything on or off topics
Discount actions perhaps? High quantity low price>low quantity high price.
Sell those discounts and perhaps you could also do some renovations or unique/cultural decors on your property to attract people, maybe have special events as well or outline the recreational opportunities closeby when staying at your hotel.
As for your business I would say make your liquidity budget for the next 3 years, income statement and decide how profitable it is and how profitable it is to just sell the whole shiz kebab and pay the loan off and walk off with the rest money you sold it for and continue specialized in the hospitality sector.
If you don't want to get rid of the business you should look how to minimize the costs first before looking how to maximize profits. Look at your overhead costs, salary costs and utility costs, maybe look into the logistics section of your businesses and see if there are more cheaper trade partners.
>>980161
Ok thank you for the reply
I was too thinking of organizing special event for my hotel to attract business people,
No i dont want to sell my businesses i want to keep going with what i have and maybe expand in future also the math of costs is all subjective and relative.
What i need mostly is an idea how to get new business partners since i am aware that there is whole world out there with business people that are possibly my new partners.
Do you have any suggestions on how and what media should i use to market my embroidery textile factory and my hotel to companies that have guests and to comapnies or managers that can give i can make deals to work with/for?
