http://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-ev-oil-crisis/

So Bloomberg here seems to think that because of electric cars gaining mass appeal and the shift away from fossil fuels and towards renewables (as well as an increase in the affordability of battery storage, making solar more practical), the market is likely to experience a glut of oil next decade.

Meanwhile, OPEC is calling bullshit because they think that electric cars will never be popular. And there's also the theory that Africa getting its shit together and modernising its economy will supplant the reduced first-world oil hunger.

Who do you think is right, /biz/? Should I be betting on the electric car succeeding, or OPEC being right?

Even with electric everything, oil will still be needed.
>>

>Who do you think is right, /biz/?
Next decade. Man they can't even predict oil prices a few months from now. I can't speak for the future but right now gasoline demand is strong in the US because of people going back to their F-150's. In India gasoline demand is high because of gasoline scooters that are nice and affordable over there. Plus did you know it takes oil to make toothpaste?
>>
>>1222404
Oil is used for more than cars. People are getting further in debt, and I doubt they'll be able to afford electric vehicles. IF these cars can become as cheap as regular, then yes, oil could fall further.

Is HR a good field to go into? I was considering getting a masters degree in HR but I don't know if it'd be worth it or if I'd like it.

Other than the starting question, my main ones are:
>should one become a HR generalist or specialist (+ why)?
>are there decent jobs at all?
>do you need insane amounts of charisma/social skills like business' reputation would suggest?

If yes, then are you hot

If no, then is it a hipster start up

Dont do it. Im a man who after getting a useless psych degree decided to get a masters in HR.

It gay as fuck and not fun. I would not recommend it.

My family gets a quarterly check for oil that they're pulling up from our land, and I don't consider that to be "serious oil money". Nobody here is making "serious oil money" unless their name is Rockefeller or something.

It literally does not matter how good you are at something unless you have god-like social skills or are attractive. You can be the absolute best in the industry but it won't matter. People only get hired through connections these days. That's literally the ONLY WAY. Experience means nothing. College degrees are worth JACK DIDDLY SHIT, even STEM ones. Unless you have like a million friends that can constantly hook you up with jobs, it's impossible to work in any industry above retail. If you manage to somehow pull this off, you still need to be attractive or else all of your female coworkers will spread rumors about you behind your back and you'll miss out on promotions because they won't invite you out drinking after work.

>can't add my years of experience janitoring/moderating an imageboard or else they'll know I masturbate to cartoon porn and not want me
inb4 b& again for imitating a janitor; I'm talking about a different *chan site.

Anyone else got experience they probably shouldn't put on a resume?

Reminds me of a janitor from a popular French forum (pretty much the equivalent of /b/ ) who was complaining about having professional trouble cause he used his actual name all that time and it would show up on Google.

How can I stop feeling guilty for making money off of others? I own 5 Burger Kings and feel bad for the people working there some of them older than me for minimum wage while I make a fairly decent amount doing basically no work. I don't even park in the parking lot so people don't see my car and get jealous or something shit sucks

How does someone become a successful programmer? How much money is in coding apps?
35 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>apps
why? how old are you to get in so late? maybe $12/hr i guess if you become good, and after a few years you could be making $25/hr. if you have your own ideas then there's no point in coding them yourself.

you take classes and send out applications. you become successful by working well. this isn't a new industry anymore senpai. if you really don't have time then you need to be in a city that has accelerated/specialized programs, and right now you'd be learning data science more than anything if you wanted to chase the cash money.

<1 year exp.

No reason for me to lie on the internet.

If you're just in it for the money OP get out. You fuckers are terrible and you pollute every codebase with garbage that "just works" and by works I mean works assuming the very specific input on your machine that you inputted at a specific time, because you never bother caring about edge cases or tests.
