Hey /biz/, if you lose all your gains you made over the course of the month in one day, do you normally hope it bounces back the next business day or cut your losses and run?
>>1222951
In stocks, if it wasn't clear.
I keep dumping everything in until it turns back around.

if you don't know why you lost, then you'Re fucked
Is the canadian economy crumbling? Is it time to sell all my shares because the end is nigh?
yes sell everything and go underground, End times are coming
Why sell now? Worst timing ever. Now is the time to buy or hold.

So I've decided to go for the "buy a house and rent out rooms to pay your mortgage off early" meme. But I have a few questions:
1) Do/ should I have a legal contract like when you sign a lease for an apartment? complex? Should I hire a lawyer to write it? How much would they charge?
2) What legal loopholes can I use to circumvent EOH laws and not rent to ghetto nignogs/ other undesirable tenants who happen to be minorities?
3) Have any of you actually done this? What was your experience and do you have any advice?
>>1222853
>1) Do/ should I have a legal contract like when you sign a lease for an apartment? complex? Should I hire a lawyer to write it? How much would they charge?
If you even have to ask whether there should be a lease or contract when you're renting a room in your house you are in no way prepared to do so.
>>1222853
Fair housing laws don't apply as long as you live there. You can straight up say "I don't rent to niggers" and it's completely legal as long as you live on the property.
>>1222853
I never had a problem in California renting, like being the renter, everyone was professional
in Canada, complete opposite had to take this schmuck to court and won and he was penalized and yada yada he's a theater production flaky homo who was the most unprofessional person I've dealt with in my entire life
so that being said
as a landlord you're going to have to read the landlord tenant agreement w/e state or country you are in, read it over at least twice minimum
you 100% need to hire a lawyer to at least check over/correct the lease, unless there is a standard form from say a housing association or something which will more than likely fit the minimum legal requirements, at very least don't be cheap and pay for a lawyers time just to make 100% sure what it will be like and what's required of you and them
make sure you get them to sign a walk through and detail everything wrong with the place, I still haven't done this in Canada although my cousin did it...his landlord is a heimy little jew though, but his property is protected against some shithead wrecking the place, I did a walk through for 3 places in California
do yourself a solid and pay some skank to clean the place before your renters move in, it 100% sets the tone of what's expected of the tenants and will put a bit of fear in them that you're a pro and you won't fuck around
as far as the blackies....have an open house, or feign that you did, that way you can always say to the blackies "well we do have a couple that just saw the place, they've put in an application so first come first serve" this way you don't have to get into the whole bullshit of the blackies saying "oh they sposed to have texted you then when they were coming to see the place" you can just say "look, they came to the open house, put an app in, and I never heard from them again"
Do you think 3D printers will become popular? I know they're in the infant stages but these things have massive potential. If done correctly this could replace common household items.
>>1222852
Currently I do not.Maybe in ten years
>>1222852
>> PSH.... Thinks 3d printers aren't popular already.....
>>1222852
Remember when 3D guns were a controversy despite being basically ineffective? Those were the days. Fun times.
A small, sleek and portable kitchen appliance with easy pre-set buttons that'd heat up your Mexican tortilla chips to that classic restaurant-style warmth, that could easily be tucked away in a cabinet.
The device would be a huge hit at parties, get-togethers, etc. but also for dinners, or something to better your midnight snack. This could spark a dinner trend of having the tortilla chips with your dinner meal always be expectedly warm, too. Middle America is going to love this.
Both young and old alike would enjoy this product:
>young guys wanting to have heated chips available for their friends as they play video games
>old people not wanting to mess with any of the trial-and-error routine of using other appliances.
>People camping outside that'd want a hot & easy snack
>Parents buying it because their children demanded it
>Couples buying it for their partner as something cute and fun
>A company buying it for their lunch room
Tortilla chips are bought practically bi-weekly in American homes, by all demographics for all types of social situations. The customer base is astronomical - build and market it, and they will come.
inb4:
>muh ovens
>muh toaster ovens
>muh microwaves
Nobody wants to heat up the house over just chips with an oven, and for the microwave or a toaster oven...All microwaves heat up differently, and nobody knows how long they'd need to be put in for; it's trial-and-error every time. Similar with the toaster oven. This isn't even mentioning the mess that comes along with that whole process. Indeed, this is why practically nobody does that.
A circular base with an upright tube attached on top would give it the small & compact design. The chips would be heated up from either the bottom base, or throughout the tube. Once done, the user would pour them out from the top of the tube. For $19.99, what I'm imagining doesn't exist.
you can also put your dick in it
>>1223184
Let this meme die.
>>1222844
>For $19.99
for 19.99, the product has to cost 9.99 wholesale, which means it should cost $5 landed in the USA. You'd have to get it manufactured in asia. to get it for $5, you'll need a production run of 10,000's.
i've seen this bullshit almost everyday for weeks.
this is possible, just get a prototype and kickstarter it. i don't eat tortilla chips, so i don't understand why you'd want them heated unless they were nachos, which you couldn't do in a tube.
Last thread was interesting
What do you think of women in the work force?
We've discussed this to death.
Men > Women
/thread
I don't work with any women. All male work force. Men can be just as big of whiney bitches as women.
My company is 98% women, a day doesn't go by without someone crying. Even the managers fuck off to the toilets to cry.
The $2 bill has by far the best picture on the back of the bill. Why isn't the portrait on one of the main bills?
Is it specifically because it is seldom used that they put such an intricate drawing on it?
>>1222778
idk, OP. I was always partial to the $2 bill myself. I wish there were more in circulation. I work at a bank and see them a lot though no one ever wants them back so they sit in a drawer for months until they get sent back to the federal reserve.
I also really like coins and think the golden dollars should replace the paper ones but most people seem to hate them for some reason.
$1 and $5 coins would be sweet imo.
>>1222901
We do have $1 Sacajawea coins tho m9
>>1222901
$1 coins are stupid as fuck. How am I supposed to stick those in a strippers g-string?
Hi guys.
I'm a high school senior who has taken the most challenging accounting courses that my school has to offer and have excelled in each. Since the beginning of this school year, I have been set on studying accounting in college. I recently have been reading more and have had a spark of interest for majoring in finance instead. A finance major opens up many more doors, has more opportunity for advancement, and let's face it, they make more. I have been wondering about this choice and would like /biz/'s advice. Also I apologize in advance as I'm sure you have all seen this question fourteen hundred fucking times.
Thank you.
>>1222681
Depends on your goals. I would suggest to double major, study hard, and start a business.
Anything else and you won't make it.
>>1222684
An early goal as of now would to become a CFA. Double majoring in accounting/finance seems like a very viable option.
>>1222686

YES. Oil is due for a nice big shit
Can I start a "business" and get a credit card reader and charge myself to my card thousands of dollars for services that I do (like landscaping, cleaning my house, pressure washing my driveway, etc), then pay the bill with my own money over and over again to rack up cash back and flyer miles?
>>1222574
No, because credit card companies charge you a 2-3% fee on each transaction.
Tax.
>>1222574
You probably could but you'd have to pay tax on the profit, I'm pretty sure you'd lose at least 15% of the money, so unless you find a credit card that gives you back 16% of what you spend, good luck turning a profit
why was pure communism/socialism always a failure when implemented?
can someone explain it to a layman?
Hard work and growth are purely the result of (a) neccesity and (b) man's desire to be better than the man next to him.
You eliminate these two things and everyone stops giving a fuck. Then society collapses.
someone always has to be "in charge". that person is also in charge of all the money. it inevitably turns into a goddamn monarchy like Cuba or a totalitarian nightmare like China. Greed consumes all and communism is great on paper but never works in practice because of human nature.
Socialism is the transition to communism and the means of production are controlled by society(read: the state) while personal ownership of some property is still allowed.
Communism is wherein the people directly control the means of production and there is no private property, social classes, or currency.
These are actually pretty big differences, amigo.
What does /biz/ think about this in general?
I have no ideas right now, but does anyone have anything to share in terms of stories, successes/failures, things to look out for/pay attention to?
Also looking for resources such as books to read in my free time. My parents have a business, so not everything is foreign to me, but I would appreciate learning more organizational/corporate kind of stuff because my parents work in blue collar as opposed to white collar.
I am majoring in Economics, btw.
As far as capital, I would be able to bring in 5K maybe, but my parents would lend me money if things go well.
I wouldn't be willing to pay people, and thinking about getting 5-10+ people together for 10-20 hours a week to work on/brainstorm business models/plans, to screen for good business partners.
After I get exposure, and the right people I'd look to tackle a market I can work with.
I have lots of experience with Finance & Programming as well.
Worst case scenario, I do some networking and learn stuff.

Are any of the supposed survey sites that pay you for fulling out surveys legit or all scams?
Can anyone with experience drop some knowledge about this, like which ones, if any , are legit? thanks.
>>1222521
There are real ones, but survey websites are a waste of time. Takes so fucking long to make any money.
>>1222521
They don't all pay out. The legit ones don't pay you for every survey either, and it takes long to get any money.
