Should I buy physical gems/metals or buy stocks of the mining companies?
16 posts and 2 images submitted.

Depends on your financial goals and what you're hedging against.

Yeah you can definitely easily offload a bunch of physical gems and precious metals, seems like the better investment

So I made about 5 grand today based on analysing news and reading investor forums. That's really good for my initial investment of $8500, however, I want to take my analysis deeper so that I can reduce risk.

I've seen others who know when insider buying occurs, when high and low trading volumes occur, etc... How do they know this? What programs or sites do they use.

Does anyone here use fidelity? If so, could you go over some of the investing options? I'd like to let them have a small amount of my money monthly to invest it more wisely than me.

Thank you for contacting fidelity 4chan customer service branch. Your service is very important for us. Please hold for our investment specialist.
>>

>investing options
The same as any other brokerage. All they do is place the trades for you.
Unless you're talking about some full service shit, in which case they'll just dump your monthly contribution in some fund they control (probably optimized for whatever year you tell them you want to retire).

I'm sorry. I was hoping someone that actually USED fidelity would be able to help me.

I must admit I am depressed about this ethereum bullshit. I was riding high on it with a good position, then this hack happens and destabilizes everything. If the hack didn't happen, I wouldn't be this fucked. Never in my life would I think a hard fork would cause Ethereum to go up instead of down. Now I lost at least 40 % of my stake. That is the game we are in, but it feels like bullshit.

buy high sell low
>>
The "hack" was planned from the beginning.

You should have known something was up when the ruskie started selling off his eth, even though the DAO was one of the largest crowd funding projects ever.

The fork is irrelevant and only meant to placate the bagholders as the price drops

You don't hold long term with pump n dumps.

Fuck my shit up senpaitachi. Why did the Japan release of Pokemon Go not help NTDOY rise again? Instead, it seems to have lowered it another 10% just today. Can someone please explain why in the world this is fucking happening?

Attention all Robinhood users. This is the last day to get in on the greatest bubble of the year. KONE is a holding company for the mobile enterprise software industry. In 5he past few days we have seen a %500 percent blow up in price, probably mainly associated with the influx of pokemon go and strategies around these systems.

Buy in now at $10 and expect to see %300 gains within the week.

Alright /biz/nessmen,

This is my first post ever on this board.

I just inherited 81K.

How do I make it work for me?

I'm drawn to buying property with some family because they flip houses, maybe invest in some properties, work on them, and split the profit.

Is there anything else that would be as profitable?

I think this is the best board to post this.
I am a lifeguard in Pennsylvania and am required by my work, by a new rule there, to enter the deep end and clean the drain with a gloved hand at the bottom of the pool. This is incredibly dangerous and could kill lifeguards there alone. There has to be some law against making a lifeguard perform such a dangerous task, alone, in a public pool. I need help building my case against these fucks.

>>1397385
how is that dangerous? dont you turn off the water pump before you clean it beforehand?
>>
>>1397390
Diving to the bottom of the pool without a lifeguard on duty is dangerous. Evn if the pump is off.
>>
>>1397396

yeah kinda dangerous, but you just gotta minimize the risks. Wear diving flippers and a facemask to avoid inhaling water

Personally I like the social aspect. Having employees changed my mindset quite a bit. Suddenly the livelihood of other people depended on me. It feels good "providing" for a bunch of people (if you pick people who aren't lazy or assholes of course). I'm not getting rich that way, but I'd rather give people the raise they deserve and be on good terms with everyone.

good morning bizraelis

I am a 21 year old student with a side business that is growing and I need insight on how to proceed. Essentially the business is headlight restoration -- if you live in a sunny climate you've probably seen the yellowing and hazing of automobile headlights. I resurface these lights (remove discoloration and restore clarity).

At this point in time business has mainly been friends and referrals. I have started approaching small local dealerships (below 30 car lots) and offering the service. Reception has been phenomenal, but I need guidance. Some relevant facts: I am in Florida, the service is mobile (I come to the client), the work is mostly labor. There is a chemical cost per car but is negligible (eg $100 chemical cost covers 500 headlights). I am a one man operation, I have been saving receipts for the materials purchased but I am not sure how to actually structure this into a legitimate operation. At this point in time I am mainly paid cash but the dealer's are giving me checks (which I have them make out to me) and I imagine larger dealers will want to be invoiced and paid at a later date.

How should I structure this business? LLC, S-corp, sole prop? I am not familiar and google is not giving clarity
How should I be paying myself -- as a 1099 or W2
How do I handle expenses - I was told to start logging miles I am driving in my personal vehicle
How should I be doing sales tax -- labor isnt charged? do I collect the local rate where I do the work or only the city where I establish the business?

If it isnt obvious I dont know the intricacies of running a business. I am signed up for accounting and biz management classes but not until Fall and I would really enjoy any advice or input to put me in the right direction.

pic tragic but unrelated

Look up how to structure cash flows, balance sheets and earnings reports on investopedia and youtube. If you don't have any associates or anything I'd recommend staying as a freelancer in the meantime.

Also learn how to calculate your fixed and variable costs so you can plan accordingly and don't end up losing money on your operation.

noted will do

thanks

>How should I be doing sales tax -- labor isnt charged? do I collect the local rate where I do the work or only the city where I establish the business?

Regarding this question while you're freelancing you can overlook sales tax if the customer doesn't ask for an invoice and can even leave it out from your earnings to save yourself some income tax, while the legality of this might be dubious many starting entrepreneurs do it while their businesses take off. There might even be some subsidizes in your state for starting businessmen regarding taxes.

>How do I handle expenses - I was told to start logging miles I am driving in my personal vehicle

Fixed and variables costs, in your case gas would be a variable cost because you don't use gas if you're not out with a customer. Rent, electricity, etc are fixed costs. Look up how to construct a model on how many jobs you'd need to do in a month to reach your equilibrium and go from there. This also helps you adjust the price on your services, you might be undercharging or even overcharging your clients.

>How should I be paying myself -- as a 1099 or W2

If you stay as a freelancer your earnings would be counted as your income and taxed accordingly by the bracket your income falls in, it could potentially be lower than the corporate tax on earnings.
