You know France is uprooting alot of Malbec because the Argies make it better. My suspicion is you're going to see a huge Red market start to develop in Argentina. Not first growth good, but good wines certainly. You may not need to import Cabs too often anymore.

hola anon /arg/fag aca

I thought Argentina had better wines in some categories than France though.

What you should be looking to do is export Argentinian wine to China.

I will do anything that doesn't involve my mouth or my butt, how can I make 100k right now?

Buy ETC and Trumps

Let's say there's a raise going from 50k to 60k satoshis. I buy 100 stocks. If I keep buying and selling at every single 1k, then how much money will that make me? Let's not forget the 0.15-0.25% fee everytime you buy and sell. Which means it's 0.30% to 0.50% commission.

It's time to use maths, /biz/.

Now on a more practical note these changes can be instant and random just like XBC and 1CR yesterday on Poloniex.com
What plugins or options do you use in order to make your stocks automatically buy and sell for every 1k difference? or even lower?

1. How the HELL can day trading stocks or Forex be seen as anything other than a meme? Hedge funds filled with ivy leaguers do shittily ffs. Investment bank trader are just market makers. I can understand the incentives behind why people play the charade (since they manage other people's money) but why does anyone else bother?

And don't bring up insider traders or activists someone like buffet who literally buys a lot of the company.

I can just about bear people intellectualising value investing a bit, but not enough to justify in depth numerical analyses.

2. Has anyone here had experience of money (or the fruits of significant wealth) directly leading to more success with women, not including prostitutes?

Yeah, it's hard and requires lots of work and research, BUT these ivy leaguers aren't gods. There are opportunities everywhere if you pay attention. The markets are anything but efficient. Just look at Nintendo;s stock. ~15 billion dollar rise in the stock from pokemon go which never should have happened because Nintendo has virtually no stake in the company. Markets aren't efficient but people get burned all of the time thinking they're smarter than everyone or know all the facts and end up missing some huge ones

It IS a meme.

People, the vast majority anyway do not make any money and most quit quickly because it's bullshit. It's for retards and it's just a lie of getting rich quick to scam idiots.

>2. Has anyone here had experience of money (or the fruits of significant wealth) directly leading to more success with women, not including prostitutes?

Being wealthier helps with women but not in the way you're probably thinking. It's not like you drive around in a lambo or casually mention "You know... My networth is $3.5million, what do you say we... you know, come fuck at my place?".

It's more that the correlation with self-improvement, huge amounts of confidence and more freedom thanks to being wealthy is what helps you.

A millionaire is automatically going to be more confident and have more freedom to spend time doing fun things. A "wagecuck" as is called on /biz/ would be too stressed out and angry most of the time, and that emits a negative aura to everyone. You don't want to be known as "That uptight, bitter guy who looks like he's balding from all the stress", you want to be "That successful, happy-go-lucky guy who always has something nice to say and seemingly never has a bad day".

I got a full suit at JC Penny (shirt, pants, jacket) for 89 dollars after a coupon. It looks pretty damn nice too.

Depends on how nice you need your shit to look, I'm a fisheries biologist so I just have to put on some dumb piece of shit once a year for a conference and everyone at the conference looks like a bum because most people there are commercial dudes.

Grey or blue suit, in wool. (The jacket must cover your buttocks entirely, have waist suppression, fit the shoulders, show 0.5 inch of the shirt's cuff, and have the bottom button unbuttoned.)

White or light blue shirt, in cotton (any other light colour is acceptable but more dandified).

Any tie with any reasonable pattern, in silk, not too slim (like the lapels of your jacket).

Black or dark brown oxford shoes (only black in Great Britain), in leather.

Belt should match roughly your shoes; or you can wear braces if your trousers allow it.

A pocket square in silk or linen is always good, in any colour that's not exactly the one of your tie and goes with the rest (white is always safe).

What is your budget, and why buying one suit only?

Which dividend-paying stocks are you invested in?

>>
>the more you know

OUTSIDE a tax-advantaged account, a dividend stock will lose out to a growth stock over time because the dividends are taxable as long-term capital gains. This eats into your investment capital, and saps your compounding.

Consider two equivalent stocks -- a growth stock (Stock G) and a high-dividend stock (Stock D) -- both of which yield 10% per year. Stock G earns its 10% by price accumulation alone, and Stock D earns its 10% by paying a 10% cash dividend. You own 1 share of each, and they are both worth $100/share. At the start, therefore, both Stock G and Stock D are worth $100.

At the end of 1 year, Stock G is now worth $110 (10% growth), and Stock D is still worth $100 but has paid you a $10 dividend which you re-invest. Your return on both stocks is the same -- before taxes. After taxes, however, Stock G is still worth $110 (no tax consequences) but Stock D has only returned you $108 because you paid 20% in capital gains taxes on the dividends. (I'm using 20% to keep the math simple in this example, but the principle is the same for any tax rate.) So after one year, Stock G is ahead by $2.

After year two, Stock G is now worth $121 ($110 x 10%), and stock D is worth $108 ($100 original + $8 reinvested) but has paid you a $10.80 dividend, reduced by taxes to $8.64, for a total gain of $116.64. Stock G is now ahead by $4.36

Hopefully you can now see where this is going. Every year the spread between Stock G and Stock D is going to get wider and wider because taxes aren't depleting any of your Stock G capital.

INSIDE a tax-advantaged account, you don't suffer the tax hit when dividends are declared. You get to reinvest the full amount. Therefore, inside a tax-advantaged account, growth and distributions both add EQUALLY to your growth and your compounding. So what you should be focused on is maximizing your overall return (growth PLUS dividends) instead of focusing on one or the other.

Confucius: "Old age, believe me, is a good and pleasant thing. It is true you are gently shouldered off the stage, but then you are given such a comfortable front stall as spectator."

Just a oldfag chink here, hoping to dispense my advice to young fellas here since I have lurked long time and noticed a lot of times there are many young fellas seeking advice. If you want to make mega bucks and gain intelligence and improve soft skills greatly, this is what this post is about, otherwise u can move on to (as usual) crypto shill, daytrading and other short term instant gratification stuff.

First, about making mega bucks. To make mega bucks, you really need to be someone who is well rounded. You need to know alot of things and have wide grasp of ideas. Before going to primary 1 (age 7) I have been reading up encyclopedias already. During my time, I read the Childcraft encyclopedia. It is mostly pictures based, but that's the beauty - children can intuitively understand concepts via pictures. And now at my age now, 34, I still continue to read Wikipedia. Naively I also jumped straight into C++ during 1993 (age 11) and learned programming at that age without much difficulty.. personal proof from me that you CAN learn calculus before learning elementary math.

Yea, sure, I am not from Ivy League (Kool aid), but every few days I would just go to coursera and randomly pick Ivy League courses and self study. And of course, I also Youtube daily on channels such as Veritasium, School of life, WSJ, Forbes, Vice, Vox etc u get it. So given that I have "23" years of programming experience, studying Ivy League courses and general reading, will this also mean I am already a Ivy League student with PhD title? Up to you to decide. It's just that nowadays, it really saddens me (especially reading many posts in Quora) people let themselves to be defined by what their college/University title is. That is just BULLSHIT.

Life is really about continuous learning. If next time u ever meet up with a Ivy League stuck up or a McKinsey analyst/consultant, just try and have fun and ask them if they ever read Qunshu Zhiyao (The Governing Principles of Ancient China) search: EB50-01-01.pdf in Google, Anelects of Confucius, Bhagavad Gita or Kantian Deontology etc. The stuff I mentioned just now, are all free material anyway, and you can readily find them. Qunshu Zhiyao for example, was compiled by one of the Emporers of China during ancient times as he needed some form of formal knowledge to properly administer the whold goddamn China with unity and prosperity. Don't spend too much time on crappy stuff like Rich Dad Poor Dad - it's very short sighted, and also u need to shake of the believe that just because some stuff is free it doesn't mean it's useless.

Ok in essence, if you are widely knowledgable (a Renaissance man), you shouldn't have difficulty reading stuff published by major management consultancies like Bain & Co, BCG etc. Such as
www.bain.com/publications/business-insights/macro-trends.aspx

And for making mega bucks - it's this stuff - Algorithm economy. Just think big and try to design something, an algo, that u can make it beat Google's Pagerank, Facebook newsfeed etc. PROTIP: Billion $ idea - Semantic Web Search.

If you can develop this, you'll be the next billionaire. For example, such an engine would be able to understand queries like "What should I do if I have a lot of pimples?" and it should straight away return results like "Look for Dalacin T" instead of ranked pages and u need to go through them one by one to look for the answer. Why it is able to answer "Dalacin T"? That's because the engine understands the keyword pimples contextually, understands that you want to get rid of them semantically and knows that Dalacin T is a anti-acne solution.

Whil at work (whatever work it is) how much time do you spend actually diligently working and how much time do you spend wasting time.

Also what do you do to fill up the work time with stuff that is not actual work.

1-3 hours of my 40 hour work week is actual work.

I'm a systems administrator at a data center, and as long as nothing is exploding, my free time is my own to do as I please with. I spend it on here, playing video games, reading books, watching shows, and hanging out with my coworkers.

This is pretty much optimal for me. I don't understand people who seek fulfillment though work.

I inherited a house after my dad died. It's in Los Angeles and worth somewhere between $450k and $500k.

My goal is to not have to work a 9-5. I'm considering relocating to countries with low cost-of-living like Colombia or Philippines.

So what's the best move?

Rent out the house? I can probably rent it out for $2000 to $2400 per month but I'd have to deal with renters while living thousands of miles away and I'd still be responsible for the property tax and HOA fees (roughly $550 per month combined).

Sell it and invest the money? This appeals to me because I wouldn't have any hassle dealing with the renters but I'm not sure losing the house as an asset is smart. Also not sure that the returns I'd be getting could support my lifestyle.

Where in LA?
>>
Rent out.

Definitely. Especially if you're thinking long-term.

You index the rent, the property value already follows inflation - basically you have an asset that will never be worth less than it is today and will yield you roughly the same purchasing power forever.

If you get about 1,800 per month - put aside 300-500 depending how bad the condition is and save up for the inevitable large renovations. Deduct insurance and factor in tax.

Your net profit depends on how much hassle you want. None at all? There's services for that. Property management, finding tenants, invoicing - where there's demand for a service, there's an industry providing it. The more you do yourself, the more profit obviously.

But in general, there's virtually no way to make a loss on a property you got for free. It'll probably not be enough to live off of (but that's true either way).

I bought an apartment in my city last year cheaply, renovated it with contractors for half a year, found some tenants (took the nicest and most dependable, not necessarily the one offering the most rent) and I've gotta say - finding several hundred bucks on your account every month for virtually zero ongoing work is pretty nice...
