what jobs in business and finance are going to become completely obsolete due to computers?
I'm worried over majoring in finance/business do to the potential automation of several jobs.
>Bankers will soon be useless
>computers can analyze data far better than we can
>computers can predict stocks
What's gonna happen? Maybe Ill just go for my math degree
>>1428357
>computers can predict stocks
No?
>>1428372
not perfectly, but some quant HF's have been doing very well with their algortithms. much better than 99.99% of humans. you don't think most of the stock volume is humans do you?
>>1428380
this. Wall Street is essentially automated.
I'm just worried about majoring in these kind of fields. I feel like we're in the midst of another kind of revolution
So I have my eye on Wharton and I was curious if anyone attended this school or knows anyone who did. I'm still undecided on a major. I'm thinking of stats. I can get into finance and if it isn't for me, I can become an actuary and make 6 figures sitting in a cubicle all day.
>>1428351
>actuary
>6 figures
The fuck have you been smoking
>>1428351
Do you have an "eye" on Wharton because you have a realistic chance to get in or an "eye" on Wharton because you just heard it's good for finance and can make good $$$?
If you're serious about being an actuary, as long as you have a math/actuarial science major at a reputable school and have decent connections or interships, you'll get a comfy job. You won't be rich, but you won't be poor. Probably not six figures unless you are actually going to get into Wharton and do well.
>>1428351
I know a guy from Nebraska who went to Wharton. Guy named Buffet. He went back to Omaha to run his own business. Don't know how he did though.
I've been reading up on it, and it seems that every piece written on the subject comes down to one conclusion: having an already established blog/website as a base for your affiliate marketing
Now I figure there's a couple ways of doing this: the obvious being writing actual, meaningful content and gaining an audience that wants to spend but this could take up to a couple years/months, and the faster way of paying google for exposure and writing detailed reviews on the products you're pushing
have I overlooked something? do all affiliate marketers start out like this?
to be frank, I'm not looking to make any mad dosh from it, just an eventual couple hundred/month would be alright to cover the rent, and since I live in buttfuck nowhere, yurop that's more than enough for me

> If you buy a website, does it have an adsense ban?
Holyshit I never thought about that, now it makes sense why all these Pajeets sell their good looking sites on Flippa for cheap.
I'm doing the same thing as you, had this thread open since OP posted for the luls but now I'll actually going to help a little.
>do I have to write good content to get an audience
Well of course dumass, this also means you can't copy someone else site by copy/pasting or rewording the sentences a little. Google isn't stupid & will ban you, don't expect a reason cause they don't even have a call center to deal with your bs.
>do all affiliate marketers start out like this?
Maybe idk, I'm in the same boat as you except I know my niche & love talking about it.
Don't expect to go far by making up stories thinking people will visit your site if you don't think you'll have to put in a lot of work.
Also don't even think about using iFrame, faggot
Any advice on what to do with several to tens of millions from an upcoming settlement for a poorfag who has up til now survived on 800 dollars a month and food stamps? Worried about fucking up and blowing it all stupidly. What do you do with that much money?
Thinking of buying a bunch of houses and renting em out. Maybe a few fast food franchise locations. But no idea if that'd be wise.
If you don't know anything about running a restaurant or being a landlord don't do either of those things. Don't tell people you know you'll have money. Hire an accountant to help handle your finances, a lawyer who specializes in settlements, and a VA to help oversee both of those. Don't take any other advice off of 4chan. Godspeed, anon.
Give me 1k. I'll send you a smile straight from the mouth of Her.

Thanks anon, I will do as you say as it sounds wise.

Hello /biz/,
I got into MS keys reselling business lately and I must say that it goes pretty well. I sell them for dirt cheap but that still a bit higher than the average pay in my country.
But then I noticed that some people are selling keys for higher on eBay which is forbidden as much as I know. So my questions are:
1. How to post a listing on eBay without the fear of getting my listing removed or account banned? Or worse, getting sued by Mircosoft if they care about us little fucks scrapping for money.
2. Do you know any places where I could sell the keys? Like forums and stuff? (e.g. epvp, mpgh, hack forums, Sythe etc)
what kind of keys? Used, new, or bootleg? Are you providing software or license stickers or just emailing the key to the buyer?
>>1428283
How do I get into this?
>>1428283
Either way:
-if you're selling bootleg keys, you will be banned relatively soon. Just need a few customers to complain, and they will.
-it's almost impossible to sell CD-Keys on ebay without being banned/sued if you're not 100% legit
-yes microsoft cares about you "little fucks scraping for money". It takes almost no effort for them to submit one lawsuit to wreck your shit. You'll settle out of court paying like $1000 per key you sold.
trying to sell stolen/hacked/bootleg keys on ebay is begging for a giant spiked dick up your ass.
In order to sell "used" aka non-new retail keys on ebay in a way that even has a CHANCE of not getting you banned/sued, you need to be selling them WITH computers, or with parts of computers (such as a keyboard from a laptop etc), that way you are technically selling a computer along with its windows key. Even this will probably get you banned
Isn't Capitalism II the most /biz/ game out there?
Name any that can compete with Cap II's level of realism and complexity.
If I've never heard of it, how successful could it have been?

I remember this.. Really good game actually, 10/10 for business simulation.
Game kept crashing every 10-20 minutes though, drove me insane so I had to uninstall.
Easiest way to make money is to dominate a niche and build your empire around it. Produce the best cars at the best price, own the factories all the way to the stores.
Once you have the money then invest in real estate. Just build your own cities, basically, and make money renting out everything.
>>1428285
You havent heard of it cause its not for casual scrubs playing Game Dev Tycoon
Any tips for sites like freelancer and peopleperhour? I'm pretty decent at writing but everything looks saturated as fuck.
Anyone? or is investing in memecoins better?
writing is a saturated market.. anyone can do it.. you need to up your game pal, sorry

Technically if you know several different languages fluently, you could actually find a lucrative field in writing...it would just have to be translations is the caveat.
I'm an analyst at a commercial bank. I primarily underwriting commercial loans and perform financial analysis on small to mid sized companies. If you ever had questions about lending or credit, AMA

What sort of culture do you lads have? I know it can't be like IB.
What're your thoughts on credit unions?
if I post collateral equal to the loan's value I'm trying to get, will it work?
Do you underwrite secured or unsecured loans? In either case, how do you value the company's assets?
>>1428137
Do you ever think about moving to debt syndication as opposed to underwriting commercial loans

I think this is big news for Bitcoin but I'm having difficulty trying to work out the potential impact,Kim says to expect $2000 a coin with 100 million users but that would require Bitcoin market cap to triple ,I think it could easily bump the price up to $1000 within the first couple of years

Hi /biz/.
I would like to have a discussion. Here is some background on me. 23, and I work at one of the biggest brokerage firms on a small production team. I worked my ass off to get here. I graduated from a small business school that is unknown and moved. I live and work in the financial district in downtown NYC.
Now. By year-end 2016, I should have ~30K in liquid assets and $4.5K in a 401K (have been putting 7% (max match)). Currently, I have roughly $15K in a vanguard fund that is doing sub-par.
I was going to keep $20K in a S&P ETF and keep $10K in the fund I already have open. My $4.5K is saved in a company account that is pretty balanced (since company stock has risen in Q2). The only other "investment" i was going to make is to grow a bunch of mushrooms in my new apartment (should profit ~$2K by year-end) (haven't started yet).
If you had $30K, how would you invest it? Also, if you were in my position, would you put more into your 401K?
Should I try to invest in something other than stocks?
Also, $55K salary and I make $80K with OT (not including expenses, free schooling, etc). I hopefully will be increasing this to 6 figures in the next few years. I work 50 hours a week and am taking classes. In 5 years, would the investment profile you have chosen change with more incoming cash? If so, how?
Thanks /biz/, looking forward to an interesting discussion. Also, AMA if you want.

30k? Could be enough for a down payment on rental property depending on your location
I work in finance, make good money
but don't have a desire to really push myself and make A LOT MORE, I don't have it in me to swindle my clients. But It hit me I need to be more hungry , so I can have more money to spare to look after my parents if they want to retire early.
How do I embrace the inner Shylock?

Browse 4chan all day. Particularly /pol/. Any empathy you have for the human race will deteriorate and you won't feel bad about speeding the extinction of our species
just think of all the good you could do with millions of dollars, funding cancer research, giving money to the poor, saving lives. Obviously you're not going to do any of that but just tell that to yourself if you want to feel good
