>get buddy a job

Will you ever make it if you worry about anyone but yourself in life?
>>1502107
Pick better friends, retard.
Same here.
>be me, get job
>liked and respected by management
>neet ex-roomie decides to use my name, unsolicited, to get interview
>walks out after his second day and doesn't answer managers calls
>THANKS MATE
>>1502107
You really have to be careful about who you recommend. It will reflect back on you. I've helped many friends get jobs, but I've also straight up told friends i wouldn't recommend them. They usually understand because they know they're lazy.
If someone uses my name without mt permission, I will tell my boss look man, I know this guy, he's pretty cool, I like him on a personal level, but I won't recommend him. If you interview him and you like him, that's on you.
Basically everyone I recommend for a job gets it because my bosses know I can be trusted. And that looks good for me. Gotta look out for numero uno every time.
>work for temp agency
>this boy comes in with his cuck goatee and oversized suit
>marketing major
>who woulda thought
>asks for jobs making $40K
>give him a offer on data entry for $11 a hour not garunteed 40 hours a week
>take it or leave it
Why do idiots think their meme degrees will get them a good job?
Says the guy working at a temp agency

What made you want to do this? How do you shower?
>>1501991
I'd consider that, but how do you get power and internet? How do you cook and use the restroom? Shower?
I camp so I know a lot of tents can be 10/10 comfy. Protip, string a tarp over the tent for storms, more protection especially if you're in an area that gets hail.
I pay 800 a month rent...I think it's ridiculous.

How does it feel being part of the first generation of homeless having internet access?
So.
I know I don't belong on this side of 4chan, as I spend my days as a /b/tard and dabble in /pol/ and /news/, however I'm hoping there's one or more of you in /biz/ that can at the very least point me in the right direction.
I'm taking a level 400 Econ class, and one of the tasks for the semester is to mock invest two thousand US dollars into the stock market.
I know it's a social faux pas to ask a board a favor that benefits the OP, but frankly, sifting through the click bait, ads, and special interests is making me feel as though I'm getting slanted information.
I'm just looking for informative and/or mock exchange websites that don't have a fixed initial investment (since my task is specifically 2000 USD), rational investment choices (I think you guys call them defensive stocks?), and general stock information as I have next to no clue about the stock market.
Thanks /biz/, and I really hope one of you come through for me.
I'd try investopedia, but I'm not sure

Is Econ a good major?
My parents recommend that I do a double major STEM and Econ, but I'm only good at math and did B level in STEM. While these grades probably could get me through a major in STEM, I'm really unmotivated and mostly interested in Econ.
That being said, I'd be open to a double major with something like CS perhaps. Any suggestions?
major in business management or something along those lines. economics is a stupid major.
so business + stem is a great combo. be able to run a business in the stem field and actually be competent.
>>1501761
but I'm shit-tier at STEM, I could barely get through high school STEM, I doubt I could
Elaborate on econ vs. business management pls
>>1501753
What is with all these therads about majoring in something you know nothing about?
"Someone told me this will make me monies hurrrr"
Why don't you go open a fucking google tab and start digging, highschool fag
Fell for STEM meme and looking into other options.
I want to learn more about economics/finance/accounting etc. because I think I could enjoy it, and I think the same autism that got my a STEM degree might mean I could do well in those fields.
I started watching Khan Academy videos. What other resources are there (books, online video series, free courses)? You're sticky doesn't have shit.
i havent read any books but i got my trading acumen from /biz/

Currently taking a course in micro and took macro over the summer.
For macro, we used Greg Mankiw's Principles of Macroeconomics (9th Edition), which i Couldn't find an exact PDF for (with the right edition), but I recall finding old ones when I was looking for one at the time. Solid textbook
I'd also recommend Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics, very good IMO. It's pretty right wing as far as economics goes and I haven't personally read it, but I've read other Sowell and it's pretty good.
Elaborate on the STEM meme? My parents told me i should double major STEM-Econ but I'm more interested in Econ.

So /biz/ I have inherited 3k euros recently.
Give me on good reason not to put it all into bitcoin.
people who will prevent you from buying bitcoin are nocoiner copers who are happy being poor and ignorant. Buy bitcoin and HODL or trade/gamble on polo.
This is a fledgling financial ecosystem. Plenty of room for growth.

Do you need this money to live on?
If not then go for it, that's not that much money in the grand scheme of things and if you want to do it then do it. There are worse investments out there.
if you know of an asset with a similar or lower amount of risk with the same likely value increase.
Just sold all my US stocks, as well as all my stocks with important us relations. Trump is winning.
Good Luck my american friends.
the economy will grow under Trump.. He bring back jobs and shiet.. More money for everyone
>>1501673
I don't care what trump does.
What i do care about is the fact that 99% of wallstreet jocks think trump will be the end of the world.
>>1501677
he's gonna do fine. his policies are modeled after reagan.. and we all know how the economy got gud under reagan
Emplyer has underpaid me twice, promised to fix it twice, said it would be fixed but it still hasn't. For fucks sake the one thing have to do (pay me) and they fail to do it after all the shit I put up with dealing with low IQ managers and colleagues with power complexes. What the fuck do I do now? Thinking about emailing one of the CEOs of the company out of the blue fuck this shit.

Why do they still post here? embarrassing.
Why do they always talk about their 10% P.A. granny investments? When will they ever learn to embrace the future?
Do nocoiners still exist? I thought they all went extinct from poverty and waiting for their Term Deposits and govt bonds to mature
I just got my 18.000$ from insurance. Im a 22 years old uni student (pol.science and economics). What should i do with it? Is it enough to do something with it like stocks or some kind of investment?
Just because you came across a lot of money (for your age at least it is a huge amount) do not feel like you should take more risks and invest in memecoins like /biz/ will tell you. Your currency tells me you are in the US, so I would recommend sticking that money right back to whatever student loans company is funding your education (that is how it works here in the UK at least).
tldr; get a head start on the other students and pay back debt. This is life giving you a big ole piece of cake and testing your strength of character. Be responsible, do not fuck up on 18k of 'free' money.

DO this:
Put $2000 each into INFI (biotech stock I've been watching for 8 years that's the cheapest its ever been right now but not for long) and GILD (Gilead, not cheap but it's down off its highs and more likely to go back up than to drop much more, a biotech that actually makes money)
Put $1500 into INTC (Intel, its pretty cheap, safe, unlikely to outperform the market but due for a nice bump up and it pays a dividend. )Then buy another $1500 if you ever see it drop a lot in 1 day
Buy $3k of JNJ, its a consumer staple stock and will probably not drop much if the market tanks, actually more likely to go up in that case
That leaves you with $8k on the side to add to these positions if/when they drop, or just buy $1k of apple, ibm, Disney, etc. to diversify further...
Once you are mostly in, only glance at the market every now and then like once a week to see if it's time to buy more, don't worry about selling anything just keep adding to it.
Get a job while in school so you aren't tempted to spend it. Thank me when you are a millionaire at 30 (assuming you are able to keep adding to this portfolio with a steady paycheck)
And don't trade memestocks unless you want to lose everything
>>1501624
This, it's pretty likely the interest on your loan is more than any potential returns you could generate. You stand to "earn" the most by paying down your loans.
Okay /biz/ I'm willing to trust you. I've got $500 I'm willing to use up/trash this weekend. I was going to blow it on a gun but decided I might as well try something new in my life. What ways in Utah can I use this money to make more money in the span of three days even if it's just $50 profits. Will post results. Pic not related.
Suck dicks, easy money.
