im thinking of getting an MBA and majoring in real estate instead of finance, accounting, or anything else even though most of my work experience is in finance/accounting and 0 in RE
realistically, what kind of a career paths could i build with such a degree? obviously not a RE agent that makes no sense
situated in NYC btw
>>1496947
Plenty of people do job transitions after getting an MBA.
That said, think of it this way: there's a heirarchy of difficulty in job jumping after getting an MBA.
EASY: Jumping from Company A to Company B
MODERATE: Jumping from Industry A to Related Industry B
HARD: Jumping from Industry A to Unrelated Industry B
That said, it's not impossible, just a pain in the ass. While getting your MBA, you may want to see if you could package up your work experience properly - that is, get into mortgage financing or something that bridges the gap. You could then spin that into a tangible job with a loan servicer or originator, for example.

thanks for the info; im aware that it wont be easy getting into RE coming from finance, but im hoping that good networking and university will help me out - especially here in NYC
anyway, im just trying to figure out career paths related to RE?
the thing is im getting a little tired of finance related work so im trying to move a bit away from it and i feel RE is something i will enjoy and do well in, although i cant base that off anything
>>1496979
Makes sense.
This is actually a great topic to raise with the MBA program's career services department. Reason being - a lot of MBA programs are pretty aware of this issue and seem to have a stable of connections you could exploit. Case in point, the one I'm doing now is helping a lot of HR people get the fuck out of HR by having a list of companies looking for "HR-savvy" Marketing people or whateverthehell.
With that said, that rises and falls on the strength of the MBA program. If you're in NYC, I'm sure you'll have plenty of great options.
Who here is ready for the bubble to end all bubbles to pop when the fed finally raises rates back to normal?
Personally, I'm quite excited for all of the capital misallocation to end.
>no more real-estate speculation
>no more cult of shareholder value
>no more cutting R&D spending
>no more predatory lending
>no more financial derivatives
>no more capital stagnation
Feels good man.
The markets are already beginning to tank, so let's enjoy the show!

I don't think they are going to raise it that fast. There will be some initial panic, but it will die down.
Is waking up early a key part of being successful and escaping NEETdom? What time do you wake up?
>>1496818
It depends. Doing so regularly can instill discipline, which is a key aspect of not being a NEET. Conversely, being up early just for its own sake has no purpose. Back a looong time ago when I was something of a teenage NEET, I found scheduling my day was a good way to prevent me from wasting my entire day on the computer or whatever.
I wake up as late as humanly possible because I generally work well until 2AM/3AM, be it on actual work, school, or side projects. I heavily rely on caffeine pills and would not recommend it.
>>1496818
Its not necessarily waking up early that will prove integral for escaping NEETdom, but getting enough sleep.
You should aim for 8 hours a night and work the other 14 hours leaving 2 hours in each day for some me time eg listening to music, playing vidya, watching tv shows etc
>>1496821
I only sleep 6 hours a night.
Getting restful sleep is more important than getting a lot of sleep.

I warned you guys in july about gulden NLG, when it was at 370 sat. Now it's at 600 sat because the market is preparing for the Prime project whitepaper, so you are still in time for buying in. I feel bad for whoever told me it was a scamcoin (yeah it could be, but the Ponzi is still in the early stages, there's no point for whoever created it to run away before making some big announcement)
Predictions for Monero?
Anyone think it will be a 18-20$ coin in the coming months?
I think its price lag right now has something to do with BTC price increase.
Im trying to decided if i should sell for the short term as price dips and buy back in when the price starts to rise.
ask a guy who just watched every schkrelly finance video in one sitting anything.

How is it like to work on an oil rig?
I'm studying economics in a mediocre euro university, I have no ambition and I just want a comfy, minimalistic life with a job that will leave me some time for myself.
I heard oil rig jobs required you to work six months per year, is it true? What's it like?
>>1491589
It's great, they let me drink all the oil I want!
>>1491589
Many people have quit because their life was at risk being of the negligence of their coworkers. You need to get a comfy job not roughnecking.
>>1491592

It's that bad?
>a comfy job
Like what, though?
I live in france so the opportunities aren't plentiful. Wish I could move, but that seems impossible.
This was THE hot stock a few months back. A lot of us bought in around 0.3AUD mark, now we are moving between 0.4-0.5.
I think we are poised for a huge breakout. Fundamentals are great, debt restructured, and Mt Cattlin upgrade is almost complete.

Any original thread posters now? Lithium demand remains HUGE and supply very low, + GXY is now in the ASX200 (http://www.miningnews.net/markets/investment/lithium-the-winner-in-reshuffle/).
What's not to like about this stock?
Wait what's the stocks name can't find the shit or am I being retarded
>>1490999
man you gotta learn to let go, its over.
there is no demand for minerals, and before minerals take off oil has to take off. Oil is much likelier to go further down.
