What is the difference between a private central bank that loans money into existence via fractional reserve banking, and a public one that prints money at will? I see no advantage in the former, apart from encumbering people with debt. After what happened in the US in the last decade, you can't even make a case for "keeping inflation low".

Either way the currency gets its "credibility" (I dunno if that's the word) from being legal tender for the country's economic produce. So why not just default on the debt and seize the printing presses?

>seize the printing presses

Or more accurately: Just seize the banks. It wouldn't change anything in the economy, people/companies would still have their savings, and the state is a more reliable creditor than any bank anyway.
>>
>>1652542
You've conflated several questions:

There is no merit at all in the central bank being in private hands. Apart from the USA, every country in the world has either nationalised their central bank or had it in the public sector from the beginning. But too many Americans had such a strong ideological opposition to nationalization that governments have been afraid to do this.

Fractional reserve banking is not a problem because its critics (and some of its supporters) are ignorant about how it works. The amount a bank can afford to lend is totally unrelated to its reserves; the two actual limiting factors are the Basel capital requirements and finding customers they can profitably lend to. See http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publications/Documents/quarterlybulletin/2014/qb14q1prereleasemoneycreation.pdf

Money gets borrowed into existence, but for government debt and a public sector central bank, that's just an accounting convention. They could change their accounting procedures and create money without debt, but there is an opportunity cost to money creation, and having debt on record makes it much easier to compare options.

Unfortunately, the public have fallen for the meme that governments must eventually pay off all their debt. Hence they advocate actions that are very harmful for the economy, in the mistaken belief that they're good for the economy.

And make no mistake, having debt readily available is a good thing. Having to rely on savings would often make it hard to start businesses, and even harder to expand them.

So I applied to Geico as a claims adjuster in their Management Development Program. It pays 45k a year.

Read up on them. Passed 2 interviews and 2 tests which took 3 weeks to get through.

I applied because I am currently getting my MBA and I want to kill myself. I hate it and I have no desire to do any bullshit MBA job that no one can actually point to--it's all people-networking fuckery that I have no desire to engage in. I also hate accounting, though I passed my accounting classes easily.

I am 28. I have never made more than 10 dollars an hour anywhere, so this would've been a huge boost for me. Naturally after the last interview I was promised I would be called within 3 business days, whether I got the job or not, but no one ever called.

So I called HR with the person I interviewed with. She goes oh you should've been called either way, and I don't make the decision the manager does. I'll let them know

And of course I still haven't been contacted.

I just want a job that pays ~40k in a place with low cost of living like Utah or Oklahoma or Nebraska that doesn't require 10 fucking years experience shoveling dogshit, which this job didn't and I perfectly qualified for it.

I have a bachelor's and 1 semester of MBA with finance classes. What else do I qualify for? I will relocate to any job that doesn't make me want to kill myself. The only recommendation I had was insurance work, and I applied to Allstate, Farmers, Gecio, and only got the callback from Geico.

What else can I do?

Why are you getting an MBA to make 45k a year? You could just network and try and get a job in insurance without the time and money lost in doing an MBA.
>>
>>1652632
I am dropping out to try to make that. I haven't dropped out because I haven't gotten the job.

I thought I made it pretty fucking clear I'm not going to autist-network my way into some job, so I am GOING to attempt to get a job WHILST maintaining my status as a student in case FINDING A JOB doesn't work out for me

I'd love to finish my MBA and make tons of money. But I'm going to a state school that is unimpressive and I don't network.

>"millennials" are more interested in ~experiences~ than things
When will this pathetic meme end?
Have the global tourism/service industries not recovered enough since the financial crisis, that they have to gaslight this idea into their heads?
Have they decided that since American millennials don't have enough disposable income to blow on shitty papier mache houses in flyover suburbs, Honda Odyssey's, or expensive weddings, they have to be able to sell them the next most expensive thing?

that isnt to say things arent important. safety, comfort, health is important. but wasteful luxury, like rolex watches is what is disappearing. millenials are seeing the facade of value those things posture

You can say this about every generation, though. Most people can't and never will be able to afford a Rolex.

Go to any military base and the newly enlisted shitheads will still be wasting their paychecks on garbage like leased Ford mustangs that will get repoed sooner or later.

I remember a couple of weeks ago some anon was posting about a detailing business he had, even posted some flyers he used

That was me. I still occasionally get calls about it, and tell the caller I'm not interested.

If only I could have poured my skills into someone in my area. The economist in me is very annoyed with the inefficency in my market.

Anyway, what do you want to know?

Did you work for a company as a detailer first? You must've had prior experience eh?

I've got a bit of money, enough to invest some and I was wondering if you could post those flyers again for ideas

I don't wanna get myself into something i can't back up, never detailed before

Well I was a car freak since I was 16. Always waxing and detailing my car. I liked Meguairs wax, I used microfiber cloths on the inside, and had a way to get different stains out of cloth and plastic surfaces.

Anyway, I was out of work, and a friend asked if I would detail his car. I said it takes me all day and I completely overhaul the inside and outside of the car. I asked him for $200 and he agreed.

So I got there at 9am and started to work. I think I finished around 4pm. Then he handed me $200 in cash. And a lightbulb went off. I was like oh snap, I could make about $50k a year cleaning cars (assuming I booked a car every single business day, and never took breaks).

> I've never detailed before
See this is an issue. You need to know how to properly clean the inside and outside of a car.

That will also effect the customer management process. Some things will come out, others will not. you need to be able to say that no-one else could get it out if you didn't get it out.

I could type out the whole process, but it would take some fucking time mate.

Where do you live?

I work 5-6 days a week (usually get weekends off. Work 2 saturdays a month) killing bugs. I make about $36,000 annually (before taxes) however exterminator companies generally pay the same forever. (No raises to pay, bonuses are few and far in between)

I have six months of experience being an exterminator and about a year and a half total of customer service experience not including being an exterminator (service mostly residences so deal with customers a lot). I would like to move into something more stable and make at least $40,000 annually in about a year. What is the quickest and easiest field I can pursue where I can expect similar hours and that pay boost?

This is the financial cuck guy again.

I'm trying to get myself worked over by a company for their profit and my humiliation. I just tried something and I want everyone's opinion on whether or not they think it will work.

I made a craigslist ad using the logo of a company and plagiarizing script from their website.

I then sent an anonymous email to the company pretending to be someone who replied to the ad. Told them that someone is using their logo and text for his own profit. Pretending to be anonymous, I gave them my first name, number, email, and screen shots of the ad as evidence.

Do you think I'll get sued? Or at least hit with a cease and desist?

>>

It's not a joke. I have a fetish being financially and publically humiliated by businesses, lawyers, bosses. I'm hoping to get screwed over. However, I don't know if plagiarism is that big of a deal or even using someone elses logo and pretending their work is mine but it has to be worth something.

Going to milk some unemployment for a tad then do this this

how is affiliate marketing not one of the biggest snake oil delusional dreams-4-sale bullshit things out there right now?

you literally need to pay them $300-1000 for access to their program with their money back guarantees and still the expectation is that you will not see ANY profits earlier than 4-6 months from when you first start.

on top of all this, the success of your business is largely based on how good the niche you have chosen is which these marketing "gurus" have INTENTIONALLY NOT TOLD YOU HOW TO DO so when you rightfully ask for a refund after you dont make a profit after 6-8 months of hard work (literally 20+ hours a week PER WEBSITE and they recommend that you need ATLEAST 5 sites concurrently to earn ~$3000 a month so thats 100 hours a fucking week) they will just say "well if you followed our program and picked the right niche..."

affiliate marketing is a fucking snake oil scam dont buy into that bullshit

Actually the price tends to go down by the amount of dividend less the marginal tax cost of the dividend. But you're close enough for 4chan. 8/10, B+.
