How lucrative would opening a dispensary in Los Angeles be
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1649882
Colorado here. They're insanely lucrative though the price of weed is dropping.

the problem is you won't get a permit. Permits will be limited and will first go to existing medical dispensaries and people with millions of dollars to invest.
>>
>>1649882
Ok, but plenty of bad hombres are getting into it. Expect to deal with 'business' people and their mafia or gang like employees.

One person who ran the soical media for a weed store here got 00 buck to the face after asking for paid she was due (http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-hollywood-murder-trial-20161130-story.html).

Good luck, anon.
>>
i would think it would be lucrative in general but with legalization passing the new nitche would probably be in equipment or being able to produce above avg mj for low price and delivering it

chubbs owns a dispensary in santa ana

Hey /biz/, I come to you today to run an idea by you. I live in small town with one road that leads out of it, and there's not a single drive thru coffee or food shop here. I've got a great location where I can set up a stand right in the middle of a straight stretch in a big gravel lot (so easy access in and out, plus visibility).

My plan is to start with just a gazeebo and test the waters before throwing down a physical building. I figure if saturday markets can do it, so can I. What I'm wondering is, what kind of restrictions and regulations do I need to watch out for? How will my income be taxed? I've never done anything like this before.

If someone could point me in the right direction for who to talk about the building and food handling requirements, I'd be very grateful. I'd hate to build this shack only to find my floor doesn't meet the requirements and have to tear it down.

>small town
How small? I think some basic market research will tell you how small you can go before a coffee stand won't fly. I've seen the coffee shack and drive through is key to operation, possibly not seating at all except maybe an outside picnic table for nice weather days. Business license and also go high end coffee, get a few fancy machines and the hottest girl you can find to work the booth.
>>
>>1649819
~2,500 people

I figure 15 costumers a day makes it worthwhile, which I believe is doable considering the regions need for something like this.

Definitely looking for low overhead, no seating except like what you mentioned.
>>
>>1649823
certainly going to be drive through accessible, aiming to sell many to-go driver friendly foods too.

can you expand a bit on the business licenses?

20 years old, got a job 2800 a month plus 2k bonus every 3 months. Thinking of going on Europe trip for a month for networking/vacation then coming back to dedicate self fully to saving more. Should I go to Europe for Christmas, birthday, New Years and spend about 2.5 k? Or keep that cash to save? Both choices are good opportunities however would like input from those who have lived past this.

>>
>>1649746
you can always make more money.
you can never make more "trip I took to Europe when I was 20."
>>
Thank you, leaning towards that's since income will only continue to grow , meeting new connections at young age will be easier and more genuine. I've heard the experience stands out as well. Not going to be a "I have 2.5k tell me how to be rich by investing this type person"
>>
>>1649791
my advice would be to just go with the sole purpose of enjoying yourself. Network when you feel like it; if that's what you meant by networking.

Salary vs Wage. Which is better?

I feel like salary is a meme.

Salary is dope if you have an hour limit. I work 35 hours a week, never more. Wage you can kill yourself trying to make enough.

Sales. Fuck hourly. Fuck salary. Get commission for supplying value & making sales.

Ownership. Fuck hourly. Fuck salary. Fuck commission. Get rents for owning things.

All the focus is on autonomous cars, why is there no focus on smart roads? Wouldn't it be easier to just gather data and have computers direct traffic?

>Less time sitting in traffic, meaning more productivity
>Less emissions from sitting and doing nothing in a traffic jam

Why is this not being done on a large scale? Am I missing something, or is this an industry to try sneaking into while it's not "the thing" i.e. autonomous cars
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1649646
inb4 autonomous cars will already do this

yes, but it's going to be a long time before they're widely adopted.

The government will mandate all cars be autonomous once it's proven to be statistically safer than humans driving. The insurance companies will lobby the government and the law will be changed.

I think we are years away from this and smart roads would bridge the gap between autonomous cars and people driving
>>
>>1649646
>Wouldn't it be easier to just gather data and have computers direct traffic?
No it's not easier.
Laying down millions, if not billions of dollars of equipment to monitor all cars paid for by the taxpayers on every stretch of road in the country?

Or, BYO: everyone buys an anonymous car

Did yo even think this through?
>>
>>1649649
People will not adopt autonomous cars for a long time.

It can't be that expensive if we can build a highway system.

>Laying down millions, if not billions dollars of asphalt all paid for by the taxpayers!

Nigga, just have cities do it or counties, Electronics are dirt cheap thanks to china.

Any decent places to get business finance spreadsheets?

Specifically I want one that lets me put in a weekly target and highlights in red/green whether my weekly sales week-by-week are above or below that.

Is there a way to make interest on bitcoin like P2P lending?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1649531

I think you can lend BTC on Poloniex for margin trading.
>>
>>1649531
there are many ways to do this, investing in cloud mining and lending, but even a fucking ponzi is more likely to return your coins than some nigerian prince you lend them to.
>>
>>1649531
you can lend it on exchanges like Poloniex. But you would be effectively partaking in usury, which is a mortal sin, so I don't suggest doing it.

also, "do you have any proof to show that you can do this job?"
stop weeping anon. my day job is a win/lose scenario, and I started out as a blank slate.
imagine losing money for your job? trading(scalping) works that way.
in any scenario, don't look for a job. look for ways to make yourself well equipped for the job

I'm a banker. Don't do it.

This shit ain't hard. Read a book or two on personal finance and then stick with low cost index funds.

You only need the bankers for complicated situations like trusts, tax strategies, cash management for large sums of money, etc.

I have a ton of cash. I want to invest but I know stocks are in a bubble due for correction and that petroleum supply is waaay out of whack.

Now is a bad time to buy onto an index fund, good time to invest in petroleum. Petrol is totally sucking especially mid and small caps and especially shale oil firms. But they'll return with a vengeance when oil prices normalize.

Thats boring I might get 50-100% return in a year. I really wonder how a fuel crisis would really impact the market. I think inferior good suppliers and alternate energy. Cheap now but in much demand later.

I came up with City Brewing Inc for that cheap malt liqour and Greyhound the new non-middle class will take new value in. Both are not publically traded. Help me out here.

What Im curious about are inferior good suppliers that are cheap now but everyone will want in 20-30 years when the world is a dystopia. Wal-Mart was that inferior good that skyrocketed when globalism kicked in and wages went down.

Any ideas?
