The correct way to do long-term passive investment is to sock money into blue-chip stocks and Vanguard whole-market ETFs.

How much do you spend a week on food and what do you eat?

I buy potatoes, rice, beans etc. in bulk, then buy some cheap cuts or chicken breasts, some veggies and make some Goulash or Curry or something.

I spend like 30 dollars a week for this, get good nutrition and tasty food.

Apperently it is a crime to hire illegal immigrants.

I live in central coast california, and there are some very large companies here that are well known for hiring mexican's who can not speak english (usually in tree trimming, and strawberry farming, construction).

You can turn them in with a IRS form 211

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f211.pdf

And receive something like 10% of the money the company saved by avoiding some payroll taxes, and help your fellow americans.

What do you tards think?

What makes living in (high-in-the-sky) apartments so attractive?

elevators.

before they were invented the first floor above the lobby was considered the most prestigious and expensive.

peasants and servants lived on the uppermost floor.
>>
>>1655419
So its height could mean you're more powerful than someone whom lives below you?

Or was this only before the elevator was invented?

Also if yes, why do many powerful people still occupy luxurious farms et cetera?

I know where to get an account, and that's literally it.

For instance: if I decide to sell, do I have to wait until all the stocks I want to sell actually find buyers? If they do find any at all?

Let's say for arguments sake that I am unfathomably wealthy.

Let's also say that my life experiences up until I started making money were comprised of bouncing from one squalid shithole to the next until I had enough and changed myself for the better.

That being said, education is the key to the doorway of success. Proper education grants license to your soul to fly and reach inconceivable heights.

A lot of you chose to study the wrong things in University. Saddled with debts and near minimum wage salaries it's hard to get ahead.

If hell exists, I'm going there. I've done horrible things for the sake of money and in no way, shape or form should anyone ever emulate my path to wealth. It weighs heavy on the mind/body/soul...

SO!!! I'm not trying to buy my way into heaven, if such a place exists. I WOULD however enjoy liberating one person of their debts this holiday season in their entirety.

No strings attached outside of providing me the necessary information to contact your loan agency/bank to settle your outstanding account balance.

Simply tell me why you deserve to be freed of this debt, and I will grant you clemency. A fresh start did me a world of good (financially speaking).

I am not in any debt. I got pretty high grades so I got to study for free. I will hopefully become electrical engineer. But I would like to build myself a house. Materials and land are cheap were I live and my relatives built their own houses so I would probably be able to build a decent house with 30k -50k eu. Now the question is am I suitable for your little charity?
>>
>>1655313
Not being riddled with about 10k debt left would allow me to put a prefab house on my land wich is essentially a pickers paradise and not even mine yet. Would mean the world to my wife. She's put up with a lot of my shit.

Would give me room to breathe and start my financial education company.

I have a friend who followed his dreams of becoming an animator and ended up being absolutely outstanding at art. Problem is he became way too insecure about his work because of massive debt accumulated from schooling and fear of having to use his work to pay it off (massive philosophical art fag)

I worked with him at a really shitty job, but despite the min wage pay and wageslave quality work, he still busted his ass and gave more than 110%.

It is nice to talk about him; he is a really good person.

I landed a 2nd interview with pwc.
How should I prepare?

Should I be giving them a plan for what I would do the first weeks and months?

They are starting a new subdivision in the local office and hiring because they are starting to get clients. Should I make a plan on how to expand or will that be to tread on the toes of the manager?

Should I be prepared for solving cases?

A parter will be joining the 2nd interview in addition to the manager and senior manager from the 1st interview. Will there be a lot of repeating of the 1st interview since a parter is joining us?

So it seems real estate is the only guaranteed way to become rich.

How much capital do you need to invest in something lucrative like an apartment complex or university housing that will give you a decent ROI return?
28 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Depends where you live, of course. Around here (Zurich) you get a decent office complex (around 800-900m2) for 7, maybe 7.5m CHF. Decent return meaning around 5% p.a.
>>
>>1655215
Well, I have 2 fucking Crack dens I'm trying to sell with a negative return.

My advice is don't buy a shithole...

Generally you need 20% down or something to borrow against. There are exceptions tho.
>>
>>1655215

A 5% ROI is realistic, also you may not always have tenants. But the investment is big, depending on city, if you invest in a wrong city you may never have tenants, and top citys are very expensive. You must do a solid research before buying something.

I don't understand how the US Treasury, and the Federal Reserve can function as separate entities. I don't understand how the Federal Reserve wouldn't eventually default on the loan payments it provides to banks, unless it acquired money somehow, through taxes or by printing money to pay for things.

I think my misunderstanding has something to do with my misunderstanding of treasury bonds. I think how it works is that the Federal Reserve issues treasury bonds at auction to pay for the debt payments it owes to banks. Is this correct?

Feds privately owned and banks can loan like 20 bucks for every dollar in savings.

We fucked m8
>>
>>1655250
Unless the ratio the banks can loan increases every year I don't see how that lets them pay for things.
>>
>>1655267
Actually never mind, that's the rule for non central banks. That doesn't effect how the central banks pays it's debts.

What caused the Great Recession?

>>1655111
Influx of Immigrants, US hading to take care of them. That along with the natural business cycle hitting the Economy on that exact point, and the lack of anti-Monopoly laws.

US Had to care for Millions of immigrants who didn't contribute to the Economy AT ALL, which caused the American businesses to be affected. Job market was flooded, which caused the Natural Minimum Wage to drop to below $1 - No one could afford anything.

Pretty much a Combination of Unhealthy shit that hit the US simultaneously.

What's a good book for a beginner who wants to get into investing? I've read Investing for Dummies. I was thinking of either starting the Intelligent investor or One up on wall street. Any recommendations?

I'm also a beginner and I'm currently following financial programming tutorials.
I'm a bit stubborn about investing books, because I suspect they won't teach me that much.
I also learn a lot faster just doing it. So learning trial and error is how I'm doing it atm.
Reading investopedia and writing some code, next year I have more time. Then I will probably start to write my own algoritm.

Chinese Lit for Discipline.

Chart Pattern encyclopedia is always handy.

The Intelligent investor is a good read, even though it barely brings in any return.

A Random Walk Down Wall Street is a MUST read. Books by Donald Trump if you want to know how to act and invest face-to-face. Soros' Alchemy of Finance is really good. And look for books from Hedge Fund Managers who brought in HUGE returns, like the chinese guy who is up 2000% this year.
