So I think my cat has been either beaten up today by the neighbours. He can't really walk and it seems his two of his paws hurt. The pawn on the picture looks pretty bad but he can somewhat stand on it while he keeps the other pawn in air constantly since it hurts too much to use it.
I want to take him to the vet but my grandparents (and my parents) insist he will be okay and that I'm just overreacting.
What do you think? Is it as bad as it seems? Should I give it a day or two and then see if it's any better and if not take him to the vet?
Thanks guys

outdoor cats, not even once
oh, and of course the owners are retards who are too cheap for a vet as well
>>2349991
>outdoor catd, not even once
I agree, but I live with my grandparents and my grandfather gets really upset when I let him in and he has lung cancer so I don't want to stress him too much.
I told my parents he should stay with them but they still brought him here. Not that I don't like having him around, but he would be better off with them.

you should put ti out of it's misery. looks like fur is falling off from a deadly spider bite or something.
What does /an/ think of pet foxes?

Really cute but if you open the door with a non domesticated one you will never see it again.
Destructive, neurotic messes that most people can't handle
Was in the yard today, spotted these cocoon thingys on a Buddleia bush. What's in there? The twigs that cover the cocoons are very neatly cut and ordered.
looks like some sort of bagworm to me. It's the caterpillar of a small moth.
>>2347475
>small moth.
how small? these are close to an inch and a half/ 40 mm long.

This here. Usually spells death for most conifers if not treated. Cut them off into a bucket of water to drown them. Then into the trash.

Let's change that. Starting off with obligatory platybelodons.

Is there any truth to the giant Vietnamese centipede having a bite so painful people would an hero rather than live with it?

Harmless.
It feasts on the bugs your filthy house attracted.
What kind of brown recluse is this?
that appears to be an nymphal wheel bug, or some sort of nymphal assassin/conenose bug. its bite can be pretty nasty, dont hassle it
>>2350985
Okay thanks for the information, that's frightening. I'll try to avoid it if I see another one.
>>2351072
Yep, they look cool and move slowly but they are not afraid to puncture people and they'll dig that entire proboscis into your skin. Do not aggravate.

your question about treating animals "right" is leading.
your question about quality vs quantity is difficult to understand.

it's not hard to understand you're just a dumbfuck

Ok OP please explain
>This is my cat, Sprinkles.
>He's 38 years old!
HOW THE FUCK!!! Why do SO MANY cats live for SO LONG now? they're all either 20, 25, 30, 35! they'll slowly outlive us. I'm scared!
>>2350891
My employee has a cat that's 21, husbands cat just died at 19. Dunno how it works but I have a suspicion that it's about how FUCKING LAZY they are.
>>2350894
Yeah, see how long turtles live.

I can attest to this. My kitter died at 26 and she was basically a piece of furniture.

If I beat up an alpha wolf with my fists, will the pack follow me around? Can I have a personal wolf army?

what's your point?
My uncle and his family have gone on a holiday for the next few weeks. Instead of sending their cats to a kennel or something, they asked me to take care of them. As a university student still living with his parents I jumped at the opportunity to move out, even temporarily. Plus, they live closer to uni than my parents so it’s pretty convenient.
They have two cats, a black one and a stripy brown one. The brown one is nice and friendly, he'll come and rub himself on my leg and likes getting patted. The black one is less friendly, he's a master of stealth and shuns human contact in favour of dark corners.
Anyway, the instructions were pretty simple: give them a scoop of cat food every day, let them out in the morning and then bait them back inside at night with fancy mincemeat that is nicer than what I've been eating the last couple of days.

I showed up at night a few hours after the family had left for their holiday with the cats already inside. Despite being around awake for a few hours, I only saw the black one once before it fled around a corner and disappeared again. When I woke up the next morning, both cats were at the back door expecting to be let out. Following the instructions given, I obliged. The black one shot out while the brown one strolled out slowly and then stayed around the house.
Once I returned from uni in the afternoon, the brown one was still nearby and when I opened the door it came in willingly. Again, as per my instructions, I put out some mince and waited for the blacks return. It didn't show up.
The next morning I'm woken by the brown cat scratching at the door. I look outside and surprise, surprise; it's the black cat! I open the door to try and let it in but he's way too wary. He wouldn't go near me and would run back outside if I tried to close the door behind it. Try as I might, I couldn't hold him and he fled back to the outdoors after a few mouthfuls of food (the food bows sits right next to the door).
The same thing happens that afternoon after I let the brown one in. Brown scratches at door, black is sitting there waiting, I open the door and step away, it manages to get a few mouthfuls but I fail to trap it and it eventually fucks off.
This morning, I tried a slightly different tactic. The black one turned up again but this time, instead of moving away after I open the door, I stand there and hold it open and close it behind it. It was a resounding success and I feel like an idiot for not doing so sooner.
The problem is that now I have two cats that are expecting to be let outdoors. The back one goes nuts and starts climbing up the screen door (pic related) while the brown one sits there looking outside longingly. Eventually they calm down and the black one resumed hiding while the brown one wanders the house.

So now I'm left with a dilemma. Do I continue to try and follow the owner’s instructions or do I try and turn these outdoor cats into indoor cats?
Any other tips about looking after these cats that you can think of would be welcome. I've never cared for cats before and my instructions were pretty basic.
Tell the black one to fuck off if it doesn't want to come back inside.
It's probably having a great time killing song birds and infecting the neighbors.
Why does wet dog smell so strongly compared to dry dog?

Same reason wet carpet stinks I guess.

So my girlfriend brought her rat into my appartment and it fucked off and is now behind my massive bookshelf.
I can't move the shelf, it's as long as the entire wall of the room and is screwed to the wall.
It's a female rat so it is probably pregnant. How do I get it out of there before it gives birth and the problem becomes much bigger?
It will come out once it's hungry, right?
>>2350544
Buy a live trap and bait it. You should catch the thing in a day. Sounds like the rat is unfriendly, mine come right up to me.
>>2350555
She just bought it because one of hers died. Came directly from the store.
What should I use as bait? I heard chocolate works best
