Was in the yard today, spotted these cocoon thingys on a Buddleia bush. What's in there? The twigs that cover the cocoons are very neatly cut and ordered.
looks like some sort of bagworm to me. It's the caterpillar of a small moth.

>small moth.
how small? these are close to an inch and a half/ 40 mm long.

This here. Usually spells death for most conifers if not treated. Cut them off into a bucket of water to drown them. Then into the trash.

but they're cute and not invasive
Why doesn't /an/ have a "what is that thing" general? It feels like threads of this sort are an almost daily occurrence.

because even if we did, all these normalfags here wouldn't use it

Exactly.
People can't even be arsed to scroll through the first page before they post thier shit.
Found cocoons like this all over when I was a kid in Southern Ohio, OP. Thanks for the nostalgia blast.

Might as well make a thread for people with pets that died.

Larva of moth of Psychidae family.
I had a nightmare about these fuckers last night OP I'm glad you're happy. Giant ones on a tree, suddenly they have fanged mouths and proceed to eat me alive, then tiny versions of myself are birthed from the ends of them. So surreal. I hate bagworms so much. When I was a kid I found some and put their cocoons in my pockets, stuck my hands in the next day and had terrible itching rashes all over my fingers.

I hope you're happy*
