>This is my cat, Sprinkles.
>He's 38 years old!
HOW THE FUCK!!! Why do SO MANY cats live for SO LONG now? they're all either 20, 25, 30, 35! they'll slowly outlive us. I'm scared!

My employee has a cat that's 21, husbands cat just died at 19. Dunno how it works but I have a suspicion that it's about how FUCKING LAZY they are.

Yeah, see how long turtles live.

I can attest to this. My kitter died at 26 and she was basically a piece of furniture.

>but I have a suspicion that it's about how FUCKING LAZY they are.

>tfw cat dead from cancer at the age of 5

Have some hydrophobic skin

Good quality food with no dyes, or preservatives.
Picking a breed that isn't prone to cancer. If you have a retriever, lab, you're essentially fucked.
>>2351443
wat if my golden retriever is a mixed? is it still fucked?
>>2351437
You don't. All metazoans get cancer. You just have to be lucky.
>>2351446
Possibly
Cat lifespans are weird. I've had two cats die of cancer at 13. And the other two lived to be 20-22. They all had the sme lifestyle so I guess genetics play a huge part.
My childhood dog lived to be 19 but since then all my dogs have died of cancer or heart failure by 13. When my current dog dies I think I'll give up on pets until I'm retired and lonely.
