Did 2y of ME before I went math.
Industrial design, drawing blueprints, materials, control theory were fun. I didn't like physics very much and couldn't wrap my head around screw theory, solid mechanics and deformation etc. which is half of why I went to math instead (prettier and makes more sense to me, I hate how math is brought up in physics).
The other half being that I was stressed as fuck, 35h of classes/week with at least as much personal work expected, 3 tests a week on average including oral examinations (1h on a whiteboard with 2 classmates each one with a problem to solve on the spot while a prof is trying to break you). I saw friends crying from stress or being pushed too far by a prof, and 6 months in and onward there wasn't a week without someone "joking" about suicide or considering suicide methods "for the sake of the argument". It's a miracle we only ended up with one guy in a wheelchair. Eventually I completely broke down in psychotic depression and transferred to math at another, less elitist place, and it took me 3y to not be impaired by anxiety triggers anymore.
The last part probably doesn't apply to you, but I'm just letting you know some places really are fucking toxic. Probably taints my view of ME more than it should. But I learned a LOT of stuff that I still remember and I'm grateful for that. I didn't even know how a car engine worked before... Overall in my opinion ME has a lot of variety and if tearing apart a gearbox, learning about what goes into steel alloys, or figuring out the required diameter of a drive shaft for a particular application sounds fun to you, you'll probably have a good time.
I don't know much about careers for obvious reasons but my understanding is that depending on what you specialize in, anything industrial needs some ME people.

This is my second attempt of dropping this addiction and I've already made it to the 10 day mark, and the symptoms of withdrawal are still (obviously) present. The thing is, I'm under a bit of stress about getting a job, post secondary, my physical/mental health, getting my drivers permit, and lacking behind on household chores, and my parents most certainly aren't helping.
I'm wondering if I should just pick the habit back up and get done what needs to be done, or try and reason with my parents again, or try and muster up the bit of life that is left in me and accomplish something, whether it be chores or scoring a job, which will probably end up in me relapsing (just going to keep it real).
I know my life certainly isn't in shambles, and I am not looking for pity of any sort, I just want /adv/ on what I should do, how quickly I should go about things or something of the sort. (My mental acuity, thought processes and concentration are a bit lacking as of late, so I apologize for any lack of information, engrish or clarity withing the post.)

So I know of someone who has child pornography on a school issued laptop. He is 18, but supposedly has pictures (that he got from local area girls) about as young as 8th grade. I have already left a tip to the police, and the situation is being worked on. However, some people who know about what I've done say that I am not doing the right thing because he came from a very messed up childhood and that this will ruin any chance of him ever being able to do anything.

I broke up with my first girlfriend around seven or eight months ago.
I was also a virgin that only had this site as a social group, so I did some really retarded things. (stalked her online, tried to get her pregnant 2 months in the relationship)
About two months ago I had called her, and my number wasn't blocked anymore. Instead of being told some Verizon code as why the call did not go through, I instead was directed to her voicemail.
Now I'm wondering, is it worth calling her? I thought we got along pretty well, we never argued about anything and as far as I know she was happy with me, aside from being too nervous to tell me we were moving too fast which led her to running away back to her home state.
I normally wouldn't consider calling her, but I am drunk again today over half a year later, and the thought came up. I don't think a day has gone by where I haven't thought about her.
The important question I have is, did she have to manually unblock me from her Verizon phone account? Does she want me to call her after this time has passed?
I want to think that I've changed, but I still feel the same. I took up a few new hobbies, and I'm back to being low energy and needing more sleep than I did with her around. During that time I felt unstoppable and I didn't really need any sleep at all...
