Who remembers this game and what are Your thoughts\experiences when it comes to this game ?

Sheeeyt, I remember it being rather enjoyable.

Used the same game engine as Medievil 1&2 I think, was it by the same developers?

What's a good controller for playing N64 games on an emulator?

I just use a PS2 controller.

Set the C-buttons to the right stick, Z to either L2 or R2 (or both), with B and A on Square and X.
>>
>n64 emulation

Also, a N64 controller. Other analog sticks don't have the same precision as the N64's.

Where can I find cheap retro games.
54 posts and 9 images submitted.

Emuparadise.
>>
I would also like to know this. These days I am limited to ebay and a shitty retro store in my area which charges 2x ebay rates for popular stuff and don't even clean their games.
>>
You don't.

Unless you get extraordinarily lucky on eBay or craigslist or some shit, or someone you know gives them to you free, you just don't.

Do what I did, switch to flashcarts. I don't regret it at all.

Any games with this feel? Nothing ever came close to I felt with this game again. You feel like you're on in a small town in rural Japan, but with just a hint of Western added to it. Besides that there's also this other aspect to it that's hard to describe...but it feels mysterious and magical, similar to how Majora's Mask made you feel (without the spook).

one bump. part of me thinks it doesn't exist. I want to make a game that captures this feel. stardew valley tried capturing the SNES harvest moon feel but fell short still of what this one had.

Help me feed my (our) nostalgia.
I used to play a game with my cousin years ago, lowtier graphics but fun as hell. The intro had truck drivers(?), specifically, an afro woman and others being abducted by aliens. It was some sort of Twisted Metal-esque game where you had to destroy the opponents car. All I remember is the intro, a yellow hovering/futuristic car and swamp with a fucking alligator in it.

Vigilante 8 2nd offense. Love the game, 10x better than Twisted Metal imo. Good luck emulating it though, psx and n64 emulation for that game looks like absolute ass.

the game can be really weird. One time when some military buildings got razed by a catapult during a large battle, somehow the enemy soldiers that left those buildings just stared at each other for a long time.

Haven't seen any threads about people's personal stories related to video games. Would be interesting to read them.

I wish I could deliver, but alas I'm not from US and I didn't have that big of exposure to vidya as a kid. That said…

>be 8-year-old me
>get a Mega Drive password/walkthrough book
>they have a Phantasy Star II walkthrough
>actually reads kinda like a story
>suddenly get hooked on reading it
>Nei gets killed
>feels sad man

>another one is for Golden Axe III
>really want to play it
>get it, turn it on. it gets stuck on some message on the screen
>me and my friend try to understand American letters
>brainstorming intensifies
>friend tells me: "maybe we have to turn it on with the lights switched off"
>wat
>it doesn't work, obviously
>ask mom because she has a coworker who had Sega too
>he tells that you'd need Megakey for that game and he has one lying around somewhere
>whoo boy, I'm all excited
>he promises it for 3 months, eventually mom starts to get pissed when I ask about it
>I give up and ask parents to buy it
>was worth it, Golden Axe 3 still the favorite beat em up today

continuation

Which version of Rondo of Blood should I play, the PC Engine version or PSP remake? Also, retro Castlevania thread.
63 posts and 14 images submitted.
>>
The original is perfect in every way.
The remake is not bad but that's probably because it's a remake of a perfect game. It's fun too and has some interesting additions and it respects 2d sensibilities despite the polygon graphics.
In case you're willing to let people on the internet make your decisions for you, you should play the original first, then the remake.
>>
Dracula X SNES, since it's not easy as piss like the version on Turbo CD, also has superior visuals and music to boot.
