Where can I find cheap retro games.
>>
Emuparadise.
>>
I would also like to know this. These days I am limited to ebay and a shitty retro store in my area which charges 2x ebay rates for popular stuff and don't even clean their games.
>>
You don't.

Unless you get extraordinarily lucky on eBay or craigslist or some shit, or someone you know gives them to you free, you just don't.

Do what I did, switch to flashcarts. I don't regret it at all.

This is actually a smart idea. Only problem is I don't know how to use the online store to order an everdrive.

It's not that hard.

Basically, Krikzz's site sells "official" everdrives, but they're expensive as fuck. You can easily get a Chinese clone for a fraction of the price, though. They work fine, only difference is you can't use the firmware from Krikzz's site because it'll brick the device - you have to use the firmware that comes with it.

To get one, go here:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Custom-game-with-8g-card-free/32732017425.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000023.1.eJIFuO

This site is effectively eBay for Chinese sellers, and this listing is where most people buy them. They have to be vague in their item description, though, because for some reason Aliexpress removes listings related to flashcarts. Just select the version you want. Note that the "N8" model is NES, but it's currently out of stock.
>>
>>3752176
Craigslist used to be somewhat decent, but in recent years it has entirely gone to shit. When I search for video games, 80% of the results I get are ads for reseller stores, lazy fuckers looking to buy, scalpers trying to to sell their stock of NES minis, or retards trying to get $100 for an N64 with a broken controller and two shitty games. Any actual results are worse than ebay prices.
>>
>>3752163
If we told you then you'd tell your friends who would then post about it on facebook and eventually it will land on a bunch of top ten lists causing everyone to go there driving up the price.
>>
>>3752176
I just get BUYING YOUR OLD GAMES AND TOYS listings.
>>
>>3752470
This. And they're always so fucking entitled.
>"looking to buy your old video games, all systems, but only good games, so don't jerks me around, and I won't pay ebay prices so don't waste my time!!!"
>>
>>3752495
I always flag these fuckers as spam ads. Like what the fuck, you really think sellers are gonna come crawling to you?
>>
>>3752498

You would be surprised how many idiots hand over a gold mine of games to a guy that's gonna resell for profit
>>
>>3752498
Yes

Yes they do.
>>
>>3752498
>>3752506
Especially if they need money and it's a poor area.
>>
Does anyone know the top 2 games in ops pic?
>>
>>3752176

I wish. All the Craigslist stuff I used to find for SNES games were in ghetto basketball American cities with taglines like "AYO CHECK IT OUT WHYTE BOI 100 SNES GAMES FO $1, BRING LOTSA MONEY THO."
>>
>>3752163
In 1994 you can find for reasonable prices

>>3752163
>get 4chan gold account
>go to /gold/
>search catalog for secret retro ebay link
>visit and create account
>be sure to tick the "i confirm i'm a jewseller" box

Congratulations. You're now in a secret and exclusive version of eBay restricted exclusively to resellers where everything is 1/4 the price of normal listing.

If you're genuinely interested in actually playing the game, seek out the most reliable method of piracy for the console of choice.

>Dreamcast V0 and V1 reads burned disc off the bat
>PS1 needs modchip, may cost extra if you're not familiar with soldering PCBs and shit
>PS2 just needs an HDD formatted with FHDB image or ethernet/USB+FMCB
>most other stuff requires a flashcart

Bittorrent.
The repositories for your favourite linux distro also have a small bit.
Also, I hear GoG is the go-to source for that.
>>3752167
Those aren't games. Those are protocols for very close recitation of games. Less close if you're using something like ZSNES ... but then on the other hand, there's ZSNES'es lower input lag.

There a a bunch of game resellers that are on 24/7 and lowball people or buy the deal within seconds. They war with each other in comments sections. I troll them and ruin deals.
>>
>>3753213
Are those repro carts that suddenly popped there good to go?
I just want to play them, and hope they save afterwards.
>>
>>3753453
I know that GBA cartridge use ROM instead of battery save

So they can save bunch and not need to change the battery but the save might get corrupted too in very rare occurrence.
It's only a problem if you plan to collect all Pokemon.

The N64 repros are the highest quality repros atm.

>Where can I find cheap retro games.
You can't. The days of finding good retro games at a goodwill for pocket change are long gone and it's never coming back. Just invest in flashcarts and modchips. Hell, you can even pick up a DualShock 4, and a old Dell workstation PC and install Lakka on it.
>>
>>3753646

I just got crash team racing from goodwill for $2.25
>>
>>3753650
more like poochy team racing am I right?
HAHAHAHA
>>
Honestly? Flea markets, within reason. Garage sales, sometimes pawn shops or your local Goodwill. Deals are still out there, if you know where to look. I'd stay away from most retro shops, unless you know the owners or something, because they'll either a) be eBay illiterate and sell things at the buy it now price, or b) sell things at slightly below the eBay price, which most sane people won't pay.

One of our local retro shops just found this out the hard way, and now is closed.
>>
>>3753686
do these retro stores ever give away the remainder of their stock for chump change when they go down under?
>>
>>3752512
The one just above Mortal Kombat 3 is Dragon's Lair.

The one at the very top is impossible to say.
>>
>>3752849
If you care that much about input lag or MUH DEVELOPERS INTENT than you might as well use original hardware (and a flashcart) instead of using that junk. There's even a program that has the same interface as ZSnes but is more accurate than it so the only reason to use that piece of shit is because of stubbornness.

Disc swapping is piss easy on the 100x models using just the inbuilt CD player. That's how I do it and haven't yet come across a game which doesn't load (bad burns excepted)
>>
>>3753887
Only early versions of the SCPH-100X had the CD player exploit.

Later versions of the SCPH-100X firmware patched that out requiring you to do the regular swap trick or modchip.
>>
>>3753925
Even back then (in 1997) these early versions were considered the holy grail and not easy to find, for this reason.

But I remember there was an "advanced" swapping trick to play Japanese games on later versions...? It's a bit unclear in my head since that was 20+ years ago.

What does that have to do with you being unable to clean your SNES.
>live in beanerville
>is a beaner
Ah. Got it.
>>
>>3753705
Aww come on, why are you so against seeing the sensibleness of my solution set?

ZSNES only needs the kind of machine that would have a 3dfx card, if you're catching my drift.
>>
>>3753695

You know, that's a pretty solid question and one I don't know the answer to. My guess? Depends on the circumstances. If they need the money, I imagine they would, and would probably let their friends/family have first dibs, etc.
>>
>>3753686
Man i wish i could still get insane deals at garage sales and flea markets like i used to. Even middle aged mums selling their kids old games for

>go to local farmers market
>pick up a super game boy for $10, Shadow of the empire for $6, sonic compilation for $10 and a sega 6 in 1 for $8
>all in really good condition minus minor sun staining

>These days
>go to local farmers market
>guy trying to sell crappy mega drive sports titles for $15 each
>faded and torn labels and cracked karts

The only guy i know that still puts up good deals hardly ever has anything to sell these days unfortunately and even when he does i have to get there bang on 7 am just to see if he has anything at all to offer.
