Why is Mega Man 2 often described as the best one in the classic series? All it has going for it is nostalgia, the great music and (some) level design.
The weapons are really good too but Metal Blade outperforms the others 90% of the time so they don't get opportunity to shine.

Mega Man 3, 6, 7, 9 are all better than 2.

MM2 is deeply flawed indeed, but it took the formula and brought it on a whole other level and set the standard pretty high.

Your problem is that you view it from today's perspective, the "no slide" for instance wasn't an issue to anyone back then because they never played an MM game with slide to begin with. Besides MM9 has no slide or charge and it's the best, while MM5 has both and is the worst. A game isn't just good or bad because of its mechanics, it all depend son how you use them.

Besides every MM from 1 to 6 is flawed in different ways. For me 4 is the best because it's the most balanced and polished in every way.

Crazed kittens Edition
Tibia is a top down mmorpg from 1997. It was very popular in the early 2000s, and it still has a substantial amount of players.
It has a huge world which the player can explore and has a lot to do in terms of hunting and quests.
Currently we are on the world secura, a non pvp server. The official guild is yotsubas, and to apply you write your name here and we'll invite you. New players will get help with gear and on what to do, and help with hunting.

Most likely the designers were thinking that she's just tending to your wounds, but they couldn't think of an effective way to depict this so they just have you go in her house so the healthcare occurs offscreen.

Last weekend, I went to a spectacular arcade show with 800+ pinball machines. Surely there are still enough cool people on /vr/ to keep a pinball thread going for at least 50 posts.

To start, tell me your favorite era of games and manufacturer from that era. Then, tell me one of your favorite games that's from another manufacturer.

The Williams System 11 games are my favorite. They have the perfect balance of the old school scoring systems and the modern modes and features. They also have the greatest themes/artwork, and fantastic music.

For a favorite non-Williams game, definitely Haunted House from Gottlieb. It was at the show this year, but not working any of the days. I'm starting to think Gottlieb must have worked with actual ghosts and demons to make this game, and the black magic is responsible for all the maintenance problem. Black Hole and Spirit were working great though, so that's cool.

That's a hard one. Probably either the Data East Tales from the Crypt or Gottliebs Gladiator. Tbf I haven't played a ton of non Williams/bally tables or if I did it usually wasn't for long.

To some degree I must be, all three of those are games I'd love to own, especially Swords of Fury. One of the coolest, most under-appreciated games ever, and one of the best examples of Williams' dungeons and dragons heavy metal style they were so good at.

Pic related was at the show too, and working much better this year. Damn good fun, and excellent BGM, the organs during King of the Hill give me chills.
