What snes emulator should I use for android? I cant decide, each one has it's ups and downs
>Snes9x ex+
It's free not so good emulation, music sounds fuzzy on Chrono Trigger and gameplay is weird on Mario RPG
>JohnSnes
Best Emulatiom I've seen, basically no video customisation and the on-screen dpad is the worse I've ever used
>SuperRetro16
Is good and all,but you can't find the savefiles, and even though the music is clear on Chrono Trigger, it is not well calibrated
Any suggestions? Or settings tweaks for the ones I mentioned?

>What snes emulator should I use for android?
I don't recommend emulating games on a phone due to the shit touch screens that block the screen especially with the SNES since it has far more complex controls then the NES.
>>3997690
This here. I emulate Gameboy games regularly because of the portability and the simple controls but I wouldn't recommend SNES, PSX or N64 emulation on it. Your phone might be able to run them but playing them with either touch controls or a wireless bluetooth connected controller will without a doubt be frustrating.
Snes9x ex+ is fine for me, sound is perfect and good options for translucent controls so
>>3997690
Isn't much of a problem
still thinking of buying some kind of clip on gamepad though
What are some retro games I can play at work?
As in, something turn based or slow enough that I could easily tab out and don't need to "actively" play (e.g. Sim City 2000 vs Doom)
>>3997476
Concentrate on your work
>>3997476
Emulate some old jrpgs but make sure to backup any save files
>>3997476
Glover.
I dind this very hard
>>3997431
Like most Gradius games, if you can do the first level or so flawlessly then the game becomes a breeze because you can remain fully powered throughout the whole thing.
I want to love this series, but its balance is horrible. You're either cucked beyond belief (at a new game or a respawn) or your overppowered and steamrolling everything in your path with the greatest of ease.
>>3997443
For real, dude. Good game design would be making it possible to make it through a game without dying with just your pea-shooter. Bonuses not applicable
>>3997443
>your overppowered and steamrolling everything in your path with the greatest of ease.
yeah, until you reach loop 2
I've been playing DK64 using the very latest versions of both the Project 64 emulator and the GlideN64 plugin and have been VERY impressed with the results (beats waiting for the game to come out on the Switch VC).
I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to reduce the infamous polygon tearing issue -
either by futzing around with the advanced settings or switching to a different emulator, maybe?
Is what you're referring to like v-sync tearing or something else?
>>3997257
NOPE! No emulator can! They also all suffer from timing issues, so you might not be able to complete some timed events.
I don't think anyone can fix it unless somebody makes a proper Low Level Emulator for N64 games.
>>3997713
He's talking about pic related.
>>3997776
OP here.
I managed to 100% this game a few years ago on another laptop with a previous version of PJ64 by fiddling with the Counter Factor option when necessary. ATM, I've almost cleared out Frantic Factory, and so far there haven't been any problems.... yet.
I figured this would be the best place to get a definitive answer. I have been checking different sites for information on it since I really do not want to fry the thing with the wrong supply. I have been told that I shouldn't be using the normal supply, and that I should use a Genesis Model 1 supply. Is that correct? If so I was wondering if a generic 1602 or 3025 would work.
>>3996951
Doesnt the seller just throw one in?
>>3997004
Well yes they had the original super famicom power supply, but I have heard that it can cause issues due to the difference between US and Japanese power outputs. I am not the most knowledgeable in early gen power stuff unfortunately.
Center negative 9v power supply that outputs 1,000 amps.
The older the game is, the better the box looks.
Doom'll run on fuckin' ANYTHING. Given the massive number of 1000-in-1 handheld SNES machines I can get on AliExpress, there needs to be something in the $10-20 range that can run Doom with no extra hardware, right?
Your phone? A PSP?
The limiting factor will be the software that runs on the device. Any generic Android device should be sufficient to run Doom, though possibly not the crazy GZDoom stuff.
Specifically something I could buy right now in that price range.
How do people remotely give a shit about Mario Kart 64 when pic related exists? You can be fucking Conker in this shit. CONKER!!!
Who can you be in MK64? They removed based Turtle man
>>3996665
Mario Kart - unwrap, turn on, pick any character, enjoy any championship/race.
Diddy Kong Racing - "start your adventure and enter portals and shit and play for hours collecting items before having any fun xDDDxDDDdXDDDD"
All of my memories of DKR are just flying around in a plane as Diddy in the hub world.
That's bad.
>>3996665
I think it's the colour palette and the draw distance. If you wanna play single player DKR is fucking great and challeging but in the 4 player deparment is a fucking mess.
You can't see as well as mario kart 64 with those strong yellows and pixelated horizons.
Also the items in mario kart are easier to use and more satisfying for betrayals and backstabbing friends.
The overall experiencie is much better on mario kart even if the single player doesn't have cool bosses or hard collecting coins.

Does anyone here have a Virtual Boy? What have you experienced playing it?
I do and I experience mild eye strain from it but I have a big head and I don't think the pupillary distance adjusts wide enough on a lot of this stuff so my eyes are always slightly crossed to focus. I have to modify the 3D headsets you stick your phone in or else they do the same thing to me.
>>3996614
What games do you have for it?
>>3996575
there's like two good games for it
jack bros and wario land
downloaded the BeebEm emulator, trying to get into this thing.
Are there better ways of running this game? And more importantly do you think it's worth it for more than the historical curiosity?
On my first jump I went to Reorte, and had to fight quite a few pirates to get to the station. Now on my second jump,. to Quator, I'm just stuck on this endless skirmish, it seems the more pirates I kill the more of them show up.
Is this supposed to be normal? was there any indication this would be a 'dangerous' star system?
>>3996478
It's a pretty important game historically but I doubt you gain anything by playing the original BBC version and I'm sure it's a pain to make run. The first version I played was Elite Plus for DOS and it's a good version that should be simple to run and you can change graphic modes to experience different aesthetics. The NES version is pretty amazing for that console and AFAIK is pretty similar to the original.
>>3996831
it really wasn't hard to run, the emulator and the game came together in a neat little .zip
I'll look into later version though, thanks. And do you know if it was supposed to be ridiculous hard, or am I doing something wrong?
>>3996838
It's just kind of complex did you read the manual? It definitely requires both tactical and arcade-style skill.
Is there a single comfier and more satisfying game mechanic than wall jumping?
>>3996294
black penis
How the fuck can a game mechanic like wall jumping be comfy?
What the fuck are you turning this word into?
I was totally fine when people referred to overall art-styles as comfy. That's a great use of the word. Another good use is when you're describing general slow-paced game mechanic as comfy, like gardening or farming.
But how the fuck can wall jumping be considered comfy? Never have I played something like Ninja Gaiden and thought to my fucking self: Gosh, this sure is cozy here.
>>3996310
I'm sorry, that's too funny.
>>3996313
>>>/v/
Which do you think is better? I think I like Kazooie slightly better because of its more linear, stage-by-stage approach but I also love the huge open-world of Tooie. Thoughts?
>>3996209
The overwhelming majority opinion is that BK was better and BT had too much backtracking.
I personally disagree and loved exploring new areas of worlds in tooie (especially when connected to other worlds), but the majority/meme opinion is that BK is perfect and that BT/DK64 are bad
>>3996224
I have never heard someone say that Tooie is "bad" only that the levels are too big and the back tracking was a little excessive but I'm with you, man. I thoroughly enjoyed both games as well as DK64.
There is roughly the same amount of content in the two games, but because of needlessly, overly-spacious world design and backtracking, a BT playthrough will take twice as long.
