It's worth it because there's a shit-ton of SFC-only games, but I understand how you feel about not wanting to tear apart your system (even if it's just 2 little plastics that aren't even visible).
My advice? Just get a Super Famicom, they're super cool and still cheap.

Yeah, Retropie is the predominant way to do RPi emulation. I personally enjoy the ease of it and it does what I need it to.

There is. But unless someone mass produced them you probably won't find one. Even then it would be too expensive for you.
If you're willing to solder you can convert nearly any controller to be used on any other console with a few simple parts.
