The Four Job Fiesta is starting... are you going to do it?
I just pre-registered. I'll probably give it another shot. I always get shitty jobs that don't work. Maybe this time I get a blue mage... and things are easy for once instead of Berserkers and Dancers with Redmage as my only support.
Anyone up for it?

I'm really hoping for jobs that are more engaging this year. I've gotten Knight-Berserker-Ranger-Dancer, and Monk-Redmage-Ninja-Dancer.
You seriously feel the lack of magic in FF5. Black and White are so extremely powerful that not having them is suffering. Red Mage just doesn't get the good spells, so even with Dualcast, it's still weak sauce.

For me, I prefer Dracula X. I've been playing it for the past few days and fired up Castlevania 4 today after years and felt like it was a step back. Sure, the controls aren't as stiff and you can whip everywhere but it felt like your actions had less weight and were less deliberate. I also noticed that the art direction was a lot better in Dracula X. The enemies had better sprites, and the side weapons too, and everything was clearly defined. In Castlevania 4 the enemies can sort of blend in with the backgrounds and overall the style is kinda muddy. In a technological sense, I guess that 4 is more advanced than Dracula X but it's mostly unnecessary. To me the gameplay in Dracula X feels more satisfying.

I've beaten Planescape Torment, I've beaten Fallout 1 and 2, and I've beaten the more recent Pillars of Eternity. What else should I play in this same vain? I've boughten Baldur's Gate and plan on playing that soon. Right now I'm playing Tyranny.

Ultimecia lived her whole life under persecution for crimes she hasn't committed because of SeeD's witch/sorceress hunts. She clearly has a reason to be angry with SeeD.
Her entire plan was to compress time to prevent SeeD from killing her (which is inevitable for some reason).
She had Squall interrogated because she wanted to know why SeeD are hunting witches in the first place. SeeD was formed to kill the witch, but for what? Ultimecia was trying to save her own life from THEM; a military group that was formed to kill her before she was even born.
