Some ads are just too fucking good to ever let fade away. There was a whole series of bizarely sexual ads for the PS2 launch and even though they're not really explicit[spoilerly about PS2, rather just the Playstation brand[/spoiler] I probably won't post them since they're technically verbotten.

How's the X-1 and FM77AV for gaming? Everyone only seems to bring the NEC PCs and occasionally MSX and X68000.

Run Saber by Hori. The game was never canceled in Japan, but it still ended up being released in the U.S. somehow.

>>4017719
>20 enemies
Pretty sure the game only has 11 enemy characters types, unless they're counting palette swaps.

God the joypad "enhancement" was trash
>>4018513
Tomb Raider isn't, it's just undergone a visual change and lost a lot of what made it unique with movement and controls
Metal Gear Solid isn't dead either, it just wishes it was. Survive is still slated to come out soon
Crash Bandicoot is getting a fucking awful unity engine remake of the first 3 games by some god awful mobile phone game company, and has had games pumped out non-stop by Activision until then.
Spyro might be dead but the Skylanders series isn't and TECHNICALLY that series started out as a Spyro game. TECHNICALLY.
Final Fantasy XV came out recently and XIV is constantly getting expansions and content upgrade. In fact Final Fantasy is always getting more stuff pumped out.
Croc, Parappa, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal and Medievil are finished for now but as you can see from what happened to the others, that's probably for the best. Most of the characters in that picture showed up in that Playstation All Stars game on the PS3, the smash clone that noone on this earth enjoyed.
Death would have been better for all of these IPs
>>4017536
I know there was only a year between that game and 9/11 but it still feels kind of off seeing those older skylines from New York.
>>4017548
>Gameboy Contest
I wonder if anyone has those winning ads archived.
>>4017730
Sony had a great 1st party lineup for PS1
>>4018712

big collection of 90s game magazine advertisements that I put together two years ago ^__^
>>4019585
Good lord my lad, you're doing Gods work! Did you do any of the scans?
>>4019598
nope! they were just extracted from Retromag PDFs (EGM, EGM2, GamePro, Next Generation, maybe one or two others)
the longest development cycle in the history of video games
>>4017679
As basic as Rinoa.
>>4019553
>advertising a game for literal retards by appealing to their intelligence

>>4019608
I want to be on that pay roll for 65,000,000 years
>>4018532
Needs more phallic imagery.
>Game advertisements will never be this bold again.
why bother
>>4019939
Because at least in my experience I never remembered the games just how nasty some of the ads were. I've remembered this hand for nearly 15 years without remembering it was for a Gundam game.
>>4017583
I just about shit myself when I saw an older kid boot up Pokemon red on the super game boy

There was a game shark ad (I think) from the back of an old Electronic Gaming Monthly that is engraved into my mind.

>not wanking to 256 colour static gifs of Jo Guest
Being a teenager in the early years of the www really fuckingruled
>>4017694
>there are filthy pictures hidden all over the internet, but it's not worthwhile looking for them, unless you're a gigantic pervert with a modem and loaded wallet.
>>4017608
The west really should take over the practice of directly giving the price for everything in the ads.
"Cyborgs ain't ladies"
do they even still do these kind of ads?
last one i remember is this one, and after that point magazines became less and less of a thing for me.
