What was the most fan-pleasing toyline of all time?
My vote goes to Palisades Muppets, and really anything by Palisades. RIP.
>>6372207
Palisades was like a goddamn fever dream. You know how sometimes you can tell Hasbro or Mattel cut some corner or cheaped out on something? It felt like Palisades was almost pushing TOO MUCH at you. Cutting their margins razor-thin to give you huge set pieces and amazing sculpts and tons of accessories for very fair prices. I will forever mourn their death. But deep down I knew that a company couldn't keep giving and giving like that--it would have to implode sooner or later.
>>6372216
That and their refusal to sell their products outside of specialty stores. Places like Media Play, FYE, and Suncoast were practically dead at this point.
I remember getting the entire first wave of Invader Zim for Christmas. I was one happy scene kid.
>>6372207
Diamond Select Muppets not as good sadly.
What are some 1:12 scale knight figures with lots of accessories, reasonable articulation, and a fairly low price? Detail doesn't have to be high as long as it doesn't look like total shit. Historical or fantasy doesn't matter. I'm basically just looking for something affordable and generic.
>>6374050#
Mythic Legions, bro
>>6379344
Pricier than I'm looking for. I'm seriously talking Generic stuff that. The bare minimum of my specifications, or the absolute closest to it.
Years ago I got something very similar to what I'm talking about at K-Mart for only like $10. Only articulation was shoulder swivel, leg swivel, and neck swivel. Came with like five weapons, two shields, and some other stuff. No idea what set it was from, but it's that kind of stuff I'm talking about.
>>6379346
>stuff that meets the bare minimum
No clue how I did that.
>products are either crappy 5 POA action figures, unpainted figurines, shot glasses or other cheap shit they charge a premium for
>slaps ADULT COLLECTIBLE - NOT A TOY on the packaging of things that are clearly toys
>company has an elitist attitude that they are for serious adult collectors with lots of money, when all they make are novelties and children's toys
>have taken to only selling shit in very limited preorder windows and delaying shit almost to DNF levels
>now have some super elite collector's club program
I get it, they make cheapo junk with a high price tag, why do people defend them? Why do they have this arrogant attitude about their shit, and why do they seem to be in such hard denial that they make TOYS? They make toys but deny the things are toys. ReAction was overpriced shit when it was at Walmart for $10, at $15 plus postage it's even more shit. Their vintage MOTU stuff so far has been terrible, they can't even get MOTUC out, and not only was the limited preorder window with a "no we will NOT have stock for sale, what do you think we are, a toy company?" only got worse when they started forcing preorders on entire waves. I'm not impressed by a single thing this company shits out, and less impressed by their bitchy attitude. They're in denial over being a company that makes kiddie shit.
it's weird how you only ever hear about western toy properties having these problems
OP doesn't understand the cost of doing small runs, especially like their sofubi stuff. On topmof that, doesn't understand that the Adult Collectible label is to avoid having to go through rigorous standards and testing of things meant for children when this is really toy-shaped art. OP doesn't understand the difference between Funko ReAction and Super7's lines.
Basically OP is dumb.
I don't like Super7 either but at least I understand it enough to not be a crybaby fag about it.
>>6378863
>I'm not impressed by a single thing this company shits out, and less impressed by their bitchy attitude
>but I sure love to complain about it!
That's really amazing, dude.
Hey /toy/, what are you favorite "living toy" shows, cartoons, etc? Whether it be TV shows, web series, cartoons, or even movies where toys are interacting with each other and having their own adventures.
I've always loved Toy Story, but it seemed too obvious of an answer for this and I've rarely seen this sort of thing anywhere else.
Arby n the Chief always felt fun to me, up until recently. Even Busou Shinki is pretty comfy to watch. Anything you guys like?

>>6378727
Fuck, Kablam was so good.
The bit where Melt Man keeps getting stabbed or smashed is the best shit.
Always wanted an action figure of the Flesh. Clearly it's a repaint, but does anyone know what the original toy was? Wanna try to kitbash this one day.
Hi, I'm a bit new in the toy collector stuff (not much more than one year collecting stuff) and I am wondering if there is a way/website with Hasbro/Mattel/other toy companies with a list of the toy release schedule in the most precise way as possible, I know we have toy fairs all the year but in those fairs we don't usually get the release date of a lot of toys, also site news like Toyark are nice but for example they dont seems to cover toys like Littlest Pet Shop or movie animation kids toys (non collector ones)
>>6378529
It is written, only Google can answer your question.
>>6378703
I only can find some info about past years about Hasbro stuff but I cant find summer 2017-2018, some sites have some stuff but only for focused things like Star Wars
>>6378529
Almost all published toy release dates are lies. Many companies contract everything out and don't even know what they're getting let alone when they're getting it. There is really no need to try to follow them.
Old thread >>6374611
Wave 2 will never come out in America. Never ever.
Was Greatshot a better reuse of the mold than Quickswitch?
Cool designs that will never get a toy
One step Cogman.
I'm in Hong Kong right now and am planning to get an Iron Man figure and money isn't too much of an issue, is Hot Toys the highest quality poseable figure out there?
>>6375807
they look nice but articulation is shit
I had one before, it felt like a 20 dollar toy; basically 0 weight to them but I've never had the diecast ones so theres that
>>6375807
They're pretty good. I prefer the Sentinel figures, personally. Sentinel have a store in roughly the same place as Hot Toys' Secret Base and Toy Sapiens, so go and have a look for yourself.
So, without a second though i wash my chogokin aegis. I washed her with water and soap, now she clean but one thing bother me. Her shoulder joints necome stiff now. Is it rust? Could it become rusty, l mean its metal right? Maybe someone have this figure and know how her shoulder joints works so he could calm me down.
>>6372868
What have you done to it that you needed water and soap to clean? And why did you think it was a good idea to clean a figure with metal parts using water?
Sometimes I just don't understand what some of you guys are thinking.
If there's a way to disassemble the shoulders (are there any screws?) do it and check what happened there.
>>6372868
Water is incredible for the fact that it can be a lubricant or an abrasive.
Water has locked the joints up. You can use a hair dryer but the best way to fix this is dissassemby and wiping out the parts
>>6372868
>Could it become rusty, l mean its metal right?
sweetie...
What is /toy/ opinion on Kidrobot? I was wondering if this was worth buying when it gets released?
>>6372486
I've got the Kidrobot Lich and his limited edition glow in the dark colorway. Don't collect much in the way of Kidrobot simply due to a lack of licenses I'm interested in. Last I checked the only licenses they had I was interested in were Adventure Time and South Park. Only actually own the Adventure Time stuff and really like the pieces I have. Of the AT stuff is anything to go by, you'll probably be safe if you don't buy immediately but if you wait too long you may have trouble finding what you want or face latecomer's tax.
>>6372524
Srry failed to crop photo.
>>6372527
Seems like they really did AT justice.
I would like to see them do some SU statues.
How big is that litch?
Figures that everyone said weren't very good, or just plain bad, but you got them anyway. And you're determined to like them. For whatever reason
For me it's Captain Cold and Heat Wave from DC Collectibles. They're probably my favorite characters from the CW show, and they're really my only options for collectibles. Their sculpts are decent, but their articulation is...well , shit. Still, I'm determined to like them in spite of these things, because they look awesome standing together
Those, and pretty much EVERY NINJA TURTLE TOY Playmates release nowadays
>>6370815
>CW Captain Cold and Heat Wave
They're actually not that bad. If anything I feel like it's the paint that brings them down. Beyond that, Cold's hoodie could have been shaped better.
I just ended up customizing mine with the hood pulled back since I prefer that look.
>>6370815
I'm glad I got out of capeshit tv shows before I added all those flash/arrow/gotham figures to my order list.
>>6371058
How did you do that? Did you glue it down or something?
old >>6362898 If the quality of their seacons carries over to this we'll be in for a treat.
>>6370668
If it's MP scale and brainmaster gimmick is not shit - I'm in for Road Caesar.
>>6370691
These are not MP scale. Small voyager ish I believe.
>>6370695
Isn't Voyager-ish basically MP scale for the carbots likes Prowl/Sideswipe/Tracks/Wheeljack?
Alright /toy/, time for epic tales from your backyards and bedrooms of yesterday.
>Cable, Ripley, The Shadow, and Captain Kirk hunt down xenomorph hives all while dealing with starfleet's corruption, the borg, schemes from Mojo, and the larger looming threat of the hunters in the far reaches of space
>Cable gunned shit down
>Ripley gave detailed commands on physiology of the xenos, Cable ignored them and shot shit
>Kirk and his crew liberated planets under xeno control and bombarded the ones taken by them
>the shadow tried to control the xenos through hypnosis, ultimately being mindraped by the queen into her control
>cameos from the jurassic park crew and other trek personnel, either as civvies or victims (or both!)
>a tale that spanned an entire summer
>great and glorious '97
So, whatcha got?
>>6367661
I had a giant ball of green sticky tack when i was younger that i pretended was a symbiote named "Venomous" and I would kind of sculpt it over my marvel toys and make it into like a symbiote version of them with toothpicks for the teeth and stuff.
Then web-climbing Spider-Man would eventually beat the symbiote off of them somehow and i would tear pieces of the symbiote off like battle damage.
My Thing ml still has sticky tack in his armpit joints.
>>6367661
>be like 10
>"son, you need to give up ALL your toys because (dumb reason parents made up, cant remember)"
>dump out all my toys onto the table and separate them into factions for a last-man standing war. The last man stays in my collection
>fights consist of knocking any figures off somehow and into the floor/give-away toy box below. old factions were no more, a lot more pew-pewing than ever before, even fell on my own toys just to emphasis how epic the war should be
>last toys standing were down to four: Man-E-Faces, Happy Meal Sonic (the favorite), Ares from Hercules, and that balancing Fisher Price apple.
>Spun the apple so hard towards the 3 others in a desparate attempt to survive
>knocks out 3 of them as it falls onto the floor. but as luck would have it, Sonic survives, only brushed off near the edge of the table.
>im just about to pick him up to congratulate him, but then someone slams the front door. Sonic falls, into the toy box.
>i end up keeping no one, and start packing everything for donation the next day.
Had all the original Star Wars figures. Had an X Wing. Got a Space 1999 Eagle for Xmas. (You know the one. The Big fucker).
Story goes that The Falcon was destroyed in an epic battle, so Solo and Chewie got the Eagle as a replacement. Then all the main cast took off to explore space, when they met the Micronauts. Teamed up and had wonderful, fantastic adventures. Then they came to Earth, and met the Shogun Warriors. Soon they all got together, and continued. Met up with the Mego super heroes (not the 5 inch scale, but the 1/18 or so plastic ones). Then they ran into GI Joe, and teamed up to defeat Cobra. Everybody took off to the stars again,an have never been seen since.
Pic related. It's me.
Hey /toy/ recently ordered a few of the 3.75 DW toys for pretty cheap. I know they're a downgrade from the 5 inch line, and they're kinda cheap, but I do like the idea of 3.75 DW toys and like I said, they were cheap
Any other thoughts on the line?
>>6367069
I've got a Doctor or two, and I don't think the line is too bad, really. Paint-wise, it's not great, but as toys, they're not bad if you can find them for a good price. I still need an in-scale TARDIS, though, and can't find any around me.
The human characters look terrible but I got the Tardis and a couple Daleks to interact with my Joes and Star Wars. Sadly the Daleks are kinda shrimpy.
Well, my Who haul came.
Black Dalek from the value pack came with a fucked up head, so I managed to get a refund, but other than that all the figures are pretty cool, and the electronic rusty is the funnest toy I've bought in a long time. Also, immediately painted the red on the inside of 12s coat, and I'm hoping to pick up a regeneration figure for the head.
Too much armor edition

So I have this old, broken, wooden ~1:35 Douglas Dakota model... I am mainly interested in Busou Shinkis/FAGs (~1:12 scale), so I want to use this model to build a sort of diorama, but I don't have nice ideas and the different scales seems a real problem. Suggestions?
>>6364929
that's such a terrible idea. go sell your dc3 on ebay to some restorer.
go find something appropriate to do with your gundam shit.
Finished the bordering and added a light oil wash. Might be done.
