Nihilus Custom anon here. Cut these swatches, been fucking around with some weathering. Linen works best but it doesn't look right for 6". The stretchier spandex blend is at least gonna make the cape since it feels like the same material.

I just hit up a joann's near where I work, just google fabric stores and you'll find something.

Wherever you go chances are they'll have a remnants bin where they chuck the last sub-yard lengths that were left on a bolt and discount the fuck out of them. Dig through that first and see if they have anything that'll work. If not, go look around at the bolts. For this scale the trick is finding something that's thin enough to hang right on a figure but still opaque.

Other shit you'll probably wanna pick up if you don't got it on hand: Straight pins, some sharp hand sewing needles - Usually with the embroidery floss, and a spool of black cotton thread. Fabri-tac or some similar type of fabric glue. Maybe a spool of fusible bonding web and some thin wire depending on whether you wanna wire the cape, I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna bother for Nihilus.

Gree's helmet was in Thrawn's office in Rebels, which is where all of the accessories with Thrawn's figure were sourced from. There's no particular reason why it's Gree's specific helmet beyond it being a neat detail, as originally in the episode it was a regular clone helmet until one of the art people decided to do something interesting with it.

Up close he does look more plasticky and what little paint applications there are look unrealistc compared to SHF.
He does have a good headculpt and is otherwise as good as can be expected. Unless SHF fixes the one they've shown so far this is the old Ben I'm sticking with. I'll probably give him a repaint and a new robe soon.

That's an older one. There's been like 3 or 4 Falcons. They all pretty much make sounds. This one has a compartment that pops open in the middle and fires nerf darts. There's also some hidden doors on the side that can store things and have slots to store nerf darts. In the middle there's a gunner area that pops up and can store a figure and make lights and sounds. Other than that, there's a meddical bay and a couch area for the little chess board thing for Chewie to hangout at. Lots of hidden features and buttons.

No they're not. Theyre like 2 to 4 mm shorter than true 1:12 scale and Black Series is the same amount if not a little more OVER true scale. Not to mention the figuarts are all pretty much in scale with each other...with a few early exceptions like Vader. If you don't believe me measure them yourself. It's not a matter of opinion.. these are quantifiable things that can be found out.

There aren't any Episode V figures in the line yet. Same with Episode III, aside from clones, which is just a new head for a preexisting figure.

It's likely both are being saved for big, dedicated pickings for those films, since they're considered to be the best of their respective trilogies.

Royal Guards have height requirements of 1,83 like Stormtroopers and they perfectly line up with Hasbro and Model Kit Stormtroopers.

They seem short with Vader but Vader was always a big guy. I think you are confusing them with that one picture with 6 guards in a line with Vader and Sheev in the foreground but that's just the angling of the picture that makes them seem like they are as big as Vader.

Two fresh gets to discuss:

1) Bandai Battle Droid kit
He's exceptionally articulated, and he comes with a STAP, which is cool, but wow the materials on this guy suck. I've owned him less than 24 hours and already his ankles are so loose that they simply don't work anymore. They can't even hold up the weight of his feet, let alone the whole figure. Also, not a fan of the teeny tiny thumbs, or the way that his gun mount doesn't actually hold onto his gun at all.
Aside from that, sculpt and plastic colors and all that are spot on, just really shitty about those ankles, they completely ruin the figure.

2) Black Series Tusken Raider
I got one in the box from Amazon when they were like 25 or something. He's... alright? He has shitty elbows like all the other black series figures do now, but to make matters worse he has shitty wrists too. He can't hold his rifle, so it's basically just a posing piece and not an actual accessory for him. The gaffi stick is fantastic, though, and he does that pose perfectly.

I ruined one ankle of my battle droid because there is some stop on the ankle and I overbent the foot backwards, I think if I hadn't done that he would be easier to balance. But I really hate how this kit is built. Gummy parts, parts moulded into parts, arms and legs are complete pieces each. What does a Black Series normally run you at retail? If that price isn't too far above retail, I'd say it's worth it if you've gotta have it. It's a very well done figure with a good (for Black Series) likeness to Donny Yen. I really like it.

Happened into a comic store today and found a SH Figuarts K2-SO for £49.99.
I desperately looked around for more but that's all they had. It was nice seeing one in person but he didn't look much better than the TBS version so I passed.

Grabbed the bootleg Fett as soon as I saw him because I knew finding an authentic one at a reasonable price would be fuckall impossible in my country.

The differences are really subtle. Bootleg is missing some tiny silver paint apps in a few key spots. Had no articulation problems on mine, although it took a bit of extra effort to get him in this pose. Overall he still looks great along with the rest of my black series figures.

Different anon mind, but toy collection is something where if your not willing to go out of your price range for something you really want you're going to be in a state of unsatisfactory goods.
Splurging 40-50$ on a MAFEX Boba should be a no brainier in comparison to settling for a bootleg or paying scalper prices for the black series figure. I can understand for something like 3PO where the QC was garbage or the figuarts since only the Jedi are consistently good but the MAFEX in either version is the definitive Boba for 1/12th scale. It's a one and done figure, or two and done if you need both ESB and ROTJ.
But that's only in Boba's case. For something like a stormtrooper I can totally see why someone would go for the black series over any import so long as the figure itself is good.

Has any built any of the Bandai model ship kits, there's a 1/48 AT-ST I'd like to try and build but I have no talent for this sort of thing.

The model ships need a lot of paint and weathering to look good. If you're not into model building, you can safely skip these. If you want to get into model building and don't want to have to paint or glue, buy some inexpensive gundam 1/144 kits

Just ordered pic related a few days ago and it's on track to arrive tomorrow, what am I in for /toy/? I own all of the black series sabers thus far and am severely disappointed with the cut and paste shoddy job they've done with these sabers from the '06 hasbro ones but not even bothering to change the soundboard to the movie accurate sound they just use the same soundboard for all the fucking sabers. Kylos is an exception, I rather enjoyed that one and found it to be worthwhile.

Am I gonna be let down again? Should I have saved a little more and bought an older master replicas one? Or is this one gonna change my tune
