What was that toy kinda like DaGeDar but they were styrofoam and they floated in the air via a fan. They had interchangeable weapons and the styrofoam balls "fought"

Fuck I know what you're talking about but I can't remember for the life of me.
>>

Shit I remember getting something like that for Christmas but the name is a distant memory, they had faces right?
>>
>>6381020
They definitely had faces. They were like ping pong balls and you poked tiny plastic weapons into them. Fuck I'm not gonna be able to sleep until i figure this out.

So I bought a couple Impact Effects on the BST without realizing they need stands to be properly effective. Do I need a special stand? Will any Tamashi stand do the trick? I know there's like ten kinds. Other options welcome as well.

Thanks!

Other than that, effects general I suppose?

Yep, pretty much any Tamashii Stage support arms. Figma arms work just as well, too. Same size.

I saw blue and yellow aura model kits at a figure shop near me. Thinking of picking some up to use with my SAS figures - have any of y'all used these before?

ITT: figures that we shouldn't like, but do.

pic very much related- there's very little in the way of useful articulation, the accessories make no sense, and my exposure to the source material is limited to a couple episodes of the old animated series.

Why should you not like it? It looks awesome
>>
>>6376803
The animal buddies were kinda weird, but the axe looked cool. It was reasonably well articulated for a figure of its time...it had all the basic points of articulation, and I think it might have even had swivel wrists and waist? The cape/wings looked fucking AMAZING and the deploy action feature actually worked and looked cool. His eyes even lit up!! Basically if 10th Anniversary Spawn had never come out, I would say this is the best "basic" Spawn figure of all time. I still have mine in storage, never gonna sell it or get rid of it.

people are stupid and think articulation >sculpt/paint.

some of you fucks need to realize that without mcfarlane we wouldn't be here.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Frame Arms Group Build

This time the idea is to build any Frame Arms, or Frame Arms Girl kit, and paint and customize it.

The rules are overall pretty simple, the base must be recognizable as FA or FA Girl, other than that there's no limit on what you can do.

Due Date: September 1st

Note: This is a prize build, there will be a prize provided by me, there will also be a mystery prize provided by another anon. That means that to enter, I need WIP pictures submitted before the due date. Simply email me some pictures of you working on it, I don't care at what point, as long as it's possible to tell where your final product came from.

Prize Pack:
MSG Free Style Bazooka
MSG Impact Knuckle
MSG Beast Sword
MSG Assault Rifle #2
Miscellaneous supplies

I'm probably going to add more, but I'll let those be a secret.

Email: [email protected]

I'm also available via IRC and Steam.

1:18

BBi used to make detailed 1:18 shit back in the early to mid 2000s before their current Elite Force line which for the most part is the same molds on figures with less detailed paint. This is back when 21st Century Toys was a thing. Oldfags remember.

Not sure why the vehicles didn't make a comeback. They used to do fighter jets too. I still hate myself for not buying the F-16 and F/A-18 when they were $40 at TRU

>Some folks really long for the days of detail lines, Passcodes, comics, release lists and massive waves of vinyl. Those options are very limited now or are no longer feasible, but we have continued to push things in different directions, not just with our own line, but with our sister companies as well. It's easy to forget, but Glyos has been in a state of metamorphosis since its inception, with each year producing a different variation and focus. Gradual, yes, but still changing and growing at a steady pace.

>Over the last decade, we've seen some intense shifts in our hobby, and just as much on the business side of things. Running an operation like this and being able to survive depends almost solely on your ability to change and evolve under intense pressure. Obstacles arise weekly, as any small business owner can attest to. Cash flow is always tight, especially if you want to keep vital. Decisions have to be made that you know won't please everybody, but you do what's best for the majority of the ship so the mission can continue.

>It's never been my intention to shut people out or exclude opinions. I truly value every piece of advice, and though sometimes painful to hear, each and every criticism. We don't live in a vacuum and never have. Some viewpoints are extremely myopic, others are dead on, but at the end of the day, they are all personal perspectives on something we choose to do and are 100% responsible for. For better or for worse.

I love detail lines but I understand they've become prohibitively expensive I guess. And I'm alright with just doing them myself. I just hope we see a return to some nice "real type" color swap waves rather than entirely painted pieces. I just worry they'll rub in my pocket and ruin the paint. The most recent wave was a step in the right direction imo.

Also, I've been carrying these callgrims around with me and they have basically become my favorite Glyos figures. The one thing that I would improve is that I think the callgrim head should have a port on the back just like the order head. It would really crank up the contained build possibilities. I'm honestly considering just drilling a port myself.

What figures are out there with this general kind of aesthetic? I know it's sort of vague but basically anything humanoid and faceless (at least mostly).

Can be a suit, a mech, the actual being, or anything really. Preferably futuristic or cosmic in appearance, but not necessary.

Used some non-toy examples just to get the idea across clearer.

How much did you pay for your entire collection? How much is your collection worth (may be hard to do for some people-use eBay). What's your most expensive piece?

Mines worth around $2800 and my most expensive figure is my 1/4 scale mark 43 from AoU which set me back $500.

That Hulk is probably going to be a must-have.

I'm sure this specific question pops up all the fucking time but, I don't toy very much, and it's been a while since i've done a preorder.

Is it still best to preorder from AmiAmi? I saw that GSC can be preordered directly from but I remembered it had some bad reputation.

Is DHL still the way to go? Or has EMS improved a lot?

Do I still have to go to costco for bulk hotglue to save money or can I get it online somewhere now?

>>
>>6383306
Their reputation is fine. The only downside to ordering from them is that they charge $20 flat rate EMS no matter what you buy, which is pretty pricey. HOWEVER, that flat rate remains the same for up to 4 Nendos iirc, so if you can group buy with some friends or other anon you're doing pretty good.

The reason to buy from GSC is because they sometimes offer exclusive parts if you buy directly from them. If there's no exclusive part or you don't care about it, buy from Amiami instead. Or HLJ, which I honestly feel is doing a much better job on nearly all fronts than Amiami these days.

I've been using EMS for ages with no hiccups. Use whichever is cheaper, they're both good.

They changed it recently. You can use SAL if you're only ordering one item (a nendoroid or a figma or anything small enough to fit)
