Hey fa/tg/uys. One of my friends is DMing 5e for the first time, and he's decided to go for a magical Roaring '20s style setting. My character is going to be a goblin ranger. The only problem is, most ranged weapons in the campaign are going to be guns. I was talking with the DM and suggested replacing the longbow with a revolver, and was wondering if you guys had any ideas regarding a mafia members sniper rifle or other alternatives to a longbow. Thanks.

See if he will let you have a broomhandle mauser, its a pistol, but it can have a stock put on it to be a carbine. The main reason I mention this is because you are a goblin and thus small and a normal rifle will be both big and heavy for you as well as not at all concealable. A broomhandle can be hidden in it's own carbine stock.

I think I've lost hope in ever running a serious game with my players.
>Party of three, having a great Rp moment with the monk having visions with a god, darken the room quiet thudding bass line playing to set a slow tone. The player is literally on the edge of her seat, anticipating every word.

I just cut the game short at that point. They all make good characters, and RP individually very well but none of them have the empathy to just fucking shut up when someone else is having a good rp moment.
Is there anything I could do to make this better?

I tried this some 12 hours ago on /v/ with predictable results.
But is anyone anyone willing to discuss how this game handled the presentation of the socio-political milieu of the late 20th century taken to sickening lengths? Perhaps what's most fun about it is that it leaves so much room for imagining the lives of people within those societies and their ideologies.

I just bought this Dreadnought on eBay from a fellow in Missouri, who got it from a guy in Wisconsin, who purchased it from god knows where before that, until back through the years, a guy in Colorado bought it from me.
That's right, I sold this Dreadnought in 2006. It still has the original paint job. And now after almost eleven years it's come back to me, carried on the waves of the grand material continuum.

Yes we do, usually it's the former group of our GM who incorporates their story and achievements in his world.
Once I saw a statue of one of my old characters in a small town because he had 'liberated the village from slavers' and I laughed because I vividly remember that I actually brought the slavers to the town to ambush them a few weeks to collect their gold.

I'd prefer no ERP on my part, but I have no problem with others doing that. fade to black is also fine if my character needs to be involved.
