Good shit or nah?
The fact that you can get subcompacts that hold eight rounds and weigh less makes me not want to get one, but then again I really like niche stuff and the barrel swap thing is a huge plus for me. I'm gonna end up buying the huge ass barrel in .357 and have fun trying tactical reloads probably.
But seriously, most likely this will end up as a glove compartment gun for until I turn 21 and it becomes legal to carry something on my body, probably not this.
I'll bump, for the pure fact that I'm really interested in something like this for edc stuff
I'll also bump simply because I've wanted a Derringer and I'm not sure whats good.
Is there a derringer that exists with a grip that is a tad bigger than regular derringer?
>derringer
>small revolver?
>subcompact

>full size
>mk23/deagle
like something around small revolver size?

What's the highest level of Military-esque training you can get as a civilian? Is it possible to get extremely proficient at oper8an with just civi training?
>gonna post some shit to get the thread going
What got you interested in weapons?
For me, it was pic related
Probably Call of Duty. COD4 got me through a lot.
I always liked guns.
But I started liking them a lot more once I got to college and realized how pissed off they made all the liberals.
My dad taking me out to shoot when I was like 5 or 6.

I am in the midst of a 1/3 life crisis /k/. I am 30 years old and since graduating from college 8 years ago I have worked as a health care consultant for a international corporation. I make $120k/yr plus bonuses and I absolutely hate it. I am at the point that I need to make a change because I can't fathom doing this for another 5 years, let alone 30+. I have always had an interest in law enforcement, am I crazy for thinking of going back to school and working towards becoming a LEO? I don't care about the money, I want purposeful work that I can feel good about. Are there any LEOs on /k/? Any advice/opinions are appreciated.
If you don't have prior military service you'll be pushed to the back of the job application line
>>35025446
I'm a little worried about this. Do you think this will be the case even if I have the proper education? I know that I interview well and I have some connections inside the LEO community. That has to count for something right?
>>35025446
Depends where you apply, in jew york sure, but some smaller city of like 200k they'll have a hard time finding enough clean people that can pass bg check to fill out a cadet class.
Does anyone have any Vining green text?

I have some questions for current and former submariners
A) is being a nuke a meme or is this video accurate
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A8CN9YHQPd8
In b4 chad officer and virgin enlisted
B) how do you not go crazy from being confined underwater for months
>>35025122
The officer of the division woorks for the chief.
And the chief only gets involved if the E5 or E6 who originates the work needs some cover from responsibility.
>>35025122
A) Being a new is god fucking awful. Dont do it.
B) We generally have a lot of work to do so it keeps us pretty occupied. If we arent working we usually watch movies, play video games, or play card games. You'll get real good at cribbage. Also you jerk it a lot. Theres also workout gear.

what's a good backpack for operating and shit that doesn't look too gear queer and won't cost an arm and a leg? looking for something I can attach a sleeping bag/bedroll to without having to lash it on with paracord.
/Out/ is likely a better place for this. Sounds like you just want a backpacking...backpack.

Any mid level hiking pack from any of the popular companies. ~30 or so liter should serve you fine.
>In 2023, the Royal Navy hopes the first of its new Type 31 frigates will hit the waves to replace HMS Argyll, the first of 13 Type 23 frigates scheduled to begin retiring that year, with another to retire every year until 2035. The new vessels will add desperately needed modern warships to the United Kingdom’s depleted fleet.
>However, that’s the hope. It’s not realistic, according to program officials cited in a report from Defense News. The compressed timetable will likely delay the Type 31, and worse — tight budgets are forcing compromises with the vessel’s weapons and capabilities. The result will be a Royal Navy adopting a smaller, less combat-capable ship than the Type 23, which has served since the 1980s as the backbone of Britain’s submarine hunting fleet.
R-Rule the waves...
It's for the best, really. You can't really trust African nations with world class military hardware.
>>35024828
You are from Thailand, what so you have?
>>35024828
Why don't the Brits make a machine that can affect the tides of the ocean?
That way they really would rule the waves.

Anyone here in the police force or SWAT team? I thought about maybe going for it, as I don't want to enlist in the military. I know I need to go through the police academy/patrol/etc, I'd just like some advice, stories, etc.
Also, is the MP5 still being used?
Im in the academy now.
