what's a good backpack for operating and shit that doesn't look too gear queer and won't cost an arm and a leg? looking for something I can attach a sleeping bag/bedroll to without having to lash it on with paracord.
>>
/Out/ is likely a better place for this. Sounds like you just want a backpacking...backpack.
>>
>>35024874
This. You are far better asking /out/.

>the kid doesn't talk to us as much as he should, but he when he knows his shit, he knows it
>>
>>35024851
Any mid level hiking pack from any of the popular companies. ~30 or so liter should serve you fine.
>>
>>35024851
Alice pack w/ frame.
>>
>>35024874
I want something I can use for everyday shit but also for an emergency.
>>
>>35024851
Some of the older, now discontinued camelbak bags are really nice, more like a backpack built for the outdoors.

Newer bags that I've looked at seem to be like a mountain biker's futuristic fanny-pack, intended uses include storing electrolyte gel and talcum powder and looking fashionably gay.

lbt 3 day slicc

>>35025308

>>
Teton bags are the shit.

If you want a sectioned off backpack and don't mind the logo, this is only $60. It's designed for carrying drones, but it's nice for general use.
>>
>>35024851
just get an old frame pack at a garage sale.
>>
>>35025081
bad idea man what happens if you need it in a SHIT IS GOING DOWN NOW
your day to day stuff wont do shit, this is why you have a dedicated bag to have ready to "bug out" any time that is easy to get to
if you want to use it day to day you are retarded
>>
Nike SB skate bag. It's a tactical bag that's normal backpack sized, with lots of spots to buckle stuff on. It also has molle without looking to sperg

Try this, I use mine for school. It's got a shit ton of pockets and it's heavy duty. I got mine about $20 cheaper at a plumbing supply store

>all these people naming gear queer shit
Go to an Eddie Baur or something.
>>
>>35026033
>just get an old frame pack at a garage sale.

I second this. You're grey man as fuck with some old 1970s external frame.
>>
>>35026033
>>35026386
Don't do this. There's a reason people don't make them anymore
>>
>>35027662
They're still made. Internal frames are fashionable because they look sleek, which attracts casuals, but serious backpackers use externals.
>>
>>35027681
There's no indication that OP is carrying a huge amount of weight. And he wants a backpack that doesn't stand out too much. An external frame would be a bad choice.

London bridge tactical makes a three day pack thats occasionally on sale. Quality.

>>35027765
London Bridge are the people who made Mk23 holsters for SOCOM for reference.

You honestly can't go wrong with a Mil-tec asssault pack. It tears up after 2-3 years,( though you can still patch it up) and it only costs 30$
>>
>>35032090
>is the only difference the color and the stuff on the back?
Yes, molle. desu >>35033014 this anon is correct. I'm not really into the molle look, nothing against it just not my thing but the woodland pack looks awesome and it's only $75 for a great pack.

I got my 35 litter from REI garage sale website. My next one will be a water proof back like the kayak dudes use. It will need to be super light weight. Weight is key and light weight is best.

It was $70 brand new on sale. This pic is what I want next. https://www.hyperlitemountaingear.com/ultralight-backpacks.html

>>35037317
Oh Phil, your retardation never fails to amuse.
The nigga wants a pack that isn't gearqueer, and you go and recommend a fucking milsurp pack with MOLLE slathered all over.
>>
>>35037317

Great bag for LARPING as a vet, at least.
>>
>>35026386
I don't get people who use such heavy uncomfortable gear and clothing. I have been upgrading my hiking gear and everyday clothes and learning how to go lightweight and even ultra light.

I just checked out their site, I'm going to buy this. Would it work if I washed it with either black or grey rit dye?
>>

>Would it work if I washed it with either black or grey rit dye?
Tbh I don't know, anon. Do know it's a great pack though, and at that price you're gonna like it.
>>
>>35037497
>>35037548
Shit I misunderstood, my bad. I still don't know anon but I you could ask the anons in /gq/ thread they would most likely know.
>>
>>35037548
I mean the belt, not the pack. I'll order an assault pack next time they go on sale, I like what I see there way more than anything from 511 or blackhawk, plus the company name is cooler. How often do they have sales?
>>
>>35037564
See>>35037554
>How often do they have sales?
often man. I just waited till and then got mine. Just look on Friday of weekend of big holidays i.e. Labor Day, 4th, Veterans Day ect. Sometimes they have a bunch of shit of a color and have a random weekend sale of it example all Ranger Green is x% off that weekend.
>>
>>35037574
Nice, I'll just put $100 aside next payday and wait. I really like the look of the woodland bags.
>>
>>35037497
>>35037548

Negative. The material is mostly synthetic and doesn't take dye well. what you'll end up with is a sort of subdued camo pattern. Only way to get it black would be some sort of paint I think. Something that bonds well with plastics and remains flexible after drying.
>>
>>35037582
Good plan. I'm thinking of getting a plate carrier and might get one of theirs once they have another sale. Yeah it looks good, nice call.
>>
>>35037590
I'm fine with just subduing the pattern honestly. I don't like UCP, but I don't dislike it enough to turn down such a nice piece of gear at a price that low because of it.
