If you're like me you mainly want guns for range time. Thing is you're surrounded by States with infinitely better gun laws than yours, and ranges offer rentals for firearms.
I got NH, which is better than your options of VT and PA, but I digress,
google ranges in that State along your border. If you're lucky you'll find 5 or more within an hour's drive from you.
Go on the sites of those ranges and confirm that non-members and out of Statians can rent. If you wanna do NH, I recommend Manchester Firing Line.
Go to whatever range works for you in both rules and distance, preferably take a relative, your dad or uncle or some shit, since singles typically aren't allowed to rent and you'd need an NRA membership to rent as a single in most cases.

You get your funs fix while waiting for a financial and emotional opportunity to move out of your gulag of a State. Heck depending on the range you can rent full auto SMGs and rifles.
