I just got a Plano gun guard and I'm highly impressed with the quality of the case itself. The only problem is that it uses pluck n pull foam (which i hate) for the middle layer and shitty convoluted foam for the top and bottom layer.
Where can I get better foam without spending as much as the case itself cost?

Get highdensity EVA foam and cut it out with a dremmel or hand tools.

Good automative seat quality foam is expensive yo. I would go to a junk yard/pick-n-pull and find an old seat to pilfer from.
Get a nice sheet of velvet or similar cloth and glue it ontop of the foam for real a gucci look.

Any BLM or Forest service land is allowed to be used for shooting. Sometimes they're marked off. Sometimes they are off limits but they have to be posted. National Parks are of course off limits. "Federal Lands" such as military bases are obviously off limits

I recently shot a 92sf and was shocked at how soft and flat shooting it was.
I had always looked down on them as being owned by ex army grunts who couldn't let go. Those are the only people I ever saw with one.
So, I'm thinking about buying one.
Any tips on stainless or frame safeties?
Is it best to just get a basic 92sf?

First rifle.
A single shot .308 for only 300$ using 50 cent steel ammo. I plan to keep it unchanged and only use iron sights.
What am i doing wrong? I have lurked on here for over a year now, wish to own a rifle but am unable to invest much in it for now.
I intend to buy something better after a year or two.
