Guys, so I'm going to trade school in january. I'm 26, and I have back grounds in both, but I can't decide.
Fireman or welder?
I know this doesn't have much to do with firearms but your my only board. If I get a trade as a welder I can go to work on the Alaska pipeline, but if I pick firefighter I can work in Boston or somewhere and have badass war stories.
Which would you pick?

Hey random question here. I have an older bird hunting shotgun... When it is not loaded... And i turn it straight up and down either way....(barrel up, barrel down)... I hear somthing "sliding" up and down within the gun... What is this? Is this normal?

I have a dremel, angle grinder, hand drill and a chisel set. I'm going to just test it on some 2x10 framing lumber first and if it turns out good I'll go for some custom stuff.
The inletting is what I'm worried about the most

I'm currently writing a novel set in the UK during the early 1800's. One of the scenes will involve a deer stalk (the character's going after a red deer) but I can't seem to find any rifle/musket model that would fit the time and purpose. Any of you chaps would now where to find such information?
